前記ハニカム構造部の外周の少なくとも一部に塗工された外周コート材によって構成された外周コート層と、を備え、

前記外周コート層の前記印字領域を構成する部位において、その構成成分100質量%に対して、炭化珪素、及び酸化アルミニウムのうちの少なくとも1つの成分の含有割合が20質量%以上であり、且つ、当該炭化珪素、及び酸化アルミニウムのうちの1つの成分が、当該部位において含有割合が最も高い成分であり、更に、酸化チタンを5質量%以上含み、且つ
前記印字領域は、国際照明委員会(CIE)によって規定されたL*a*b*色空間(CIE1976)における明度(L*)が65以上であり、
前記印字領域の表面粗さRaが、30μm以下である、ハニカム構造体。
前記ハニカム構造部の外周の少なくとも一部に前記外周コート材を塗工する工程を備え、
前記外周コート材が、骨材粒子として、平均粒子径が1~5μmの微粒炭化珪素粒子、酸化アルミニウム粒子、コージェライト粒子、酸化チタン粒子、及び窒化アルミニウム粒子からなる群より選択される少なくとも1種を含む、ハニカム構造体の製造方法。
本発明のハニカム構造体の一の実施形態は、図1に示すようなハニカム構造体100である。図1は、本発明のハニカム構造体の一の実施形態を模式的に示す斜視図である。ハニカム構造体100は、ハニカム構造部10と、ハニカム構造部10の外周に配設された外周コート層20と、を備えたものである。
実施形態のハニカム構造体を製造する方法については、特に制限はなく、例えば、以下のような方法により製造することができる。まず、ハニカム構造部を作製するための可塑性の坏土を調製する。ハニカム構造部を作製するための坏土は、原料粉末として、前述の隔壁の好適な材料の中から選ばれた材料に、適宜、バインダー等の添加剤、及び水を添加することによって調製することができる。
焼成後の組成が炭化珪素:金属珪素=80:20となるように混合した炭化珪素-金属珪素原料粉末に、成形助剤、造孔材、及び水を加え、混合、混練して坏土を調製した。
外周コート材の調製において、骨材粒子の配合割合(合計75質量部中)を表1に示すように変更して、実施例1と同様の方法で、実施例2~16及び比較例1~10のハニカム構造体を作製した。実施例2~16及び比較例1~10のハニカム構造体についても、それぞれ10個作製した。実施例12~16では、骨材粒子として、酸化チタン粒子を加えて、外周コート材の調製を行った。具体的には、実施例12では、酸化チタン粒子を5質量部用いた。実施例13,15,16では、酸化チタン粒子を10質量部用いた。実施例14では、酸化チタン粒子を15質量部用いた。以下、実施例2~11の記載を、参考例2~11と読み替える。
実施例1~16のハニカム構造体は、外周コート層の印字領域の明度(L*)が35以上で、且つ表面粗さRaが30μm以下であり、印字領域に施した印字(二次元コード)の読み取り性が良好なものであった。一方、比較例1~6のハニカム構造体は、外周コート層の印字領域の明度(L*)が35以下であり、印字領域に施した印字について、読み取りエラーが多く確認され、読み取り性が悪いものであった。また、この結果において、比較例1~4のハニカム構造体のように、印字領域の表面粗さRaが30μm以下であったとしても、印字領域の明度(L*)が35以下であると、読み取り性が極めて悪くなるということが確認された。また、比較例7~10のハニカム構造体は、印字領域の明度(L*)が35以上であっても、印字領域の表面粗さRaが30μmを超えるものであり、読み取り性が悪いものであった。
Claims (11)
- 第一端面から第二端面まで延びる複数のセルを取り囲むように配置された多孔質の隔壁を有する柱状のハニカム構造部と、
前記ハニカム構造部の外周の少なくとも一部に塗工された外周コート材によって構成された外周コート層と、を備え、
前記外周コート層は、その表面に、印字を施すための印字領域を有し、
前記外周コート層の前記印字領域を構成する部位において、その構成成分100質量%に対して、炭化珪素、及び酸化アルミニウムのうちの少なくとも1つの成分の含有割合が20質量%以上であり、且つ、当該炭化珪素、及び酸化アルミニウムのうちの1つの成分が、当該部位において含有割合が最も高い成分であり、更に、酸化チタンを5質量%以上含み、且つ
前記印字領域は、国際照明委員会(CIE)によって規定されたL*a*b*色空間(CIE1976)における明度(L*)が65以上であり、
前記印字領域の表面粗さRaが、30μm以下である、ハニカム構造体。 - 前記外周コート層は、複数の骨材粒子と、前記骨材粒子同士を結合するネック材とを含有する、請求項1に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記ハニカム構造部における前記セルは、前記ハニカム構造部の前記第一端面側又は前記第二端面側のいずれか一方の端部が、目封止部によって目封止されている、請求項1又は2に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記外周コート層は、前記ハニカム構造部の外周を囲繞するように配設されている、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記外周コート層は、レーザーによって元の色とは異なる色に発色するレーザー発色成分を含む、請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記外周コート層は、多孔体によって構成されている、請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記印字領域に施される印字が、情報コードである、請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記情報コードが、二次元コードである、請求項7に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記二次元コードのドットサイズが、0.3~1.0mmである、請求項8に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 請求項1~9のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体を製造する方法であって、
前記ハニカム構造部の外周の少なくとも一部に前記外周コート材を塗工する工程を備え、
前記外周コート材が、骨材粒子として、平均粒子径が1~5μmの微粒炭化珪素粒子、酸化アルミニウム粒子、コージェライト粒子、酸化チタン粒子、及び窒化アルミニウム粒子からなる群より選択される少なくとも1種を含む、ハニカム構造体の製造方法。 - 前記外周コート材は、温度25℃において、回転式粘度計で、回転速度2.0s-1となる条件で測定したせん断応力(Pa)が、20~250Paとなるように調製されたものである、請求項10に記載のハニカム構造体の製造方法。
