Claims (4)
- 軸線に沿って延びる軸孔が形成され、外周に径方向外側に突出する段部を備える筒状の絶縁体と、
前記軸孔に配置された中心電極と、
内周に径方向内側に突出する棚部と、外周に形成されたおねじと、前記おねじの後端側に位置する座面を含む鍔部と、を備え、前記絶縁体の外周に配置され、先端側から前記段部を直接または他部材を介して前記棚部が係止し、前記段部に前記棚部または前記他部材が接する接触部を形成する筒状の主体金具と、
前記主体金具に電気的に接続され、前記中心電極と自身の端部との間に火花ギャップを形成する接地電極と、
前記主体金具の先端側において、前記中心電極と前記接地電極の端部とを先端側から覆うと共に貫通孔が形成されたキャップ部と、を備えるスパークプラグであって、
前記軸線を含む断面において、
前記接触部の後端と前記主体金具との間に隙間があり、
前記おねじのピッチをX(mm)、
前記おねじのうち完全ねじ部の後端のねじ山の頂と前記接触部の後端との間の軸線方向の距離をA(mm)、
前記接触部の後端と前記絶縁体の先端との間の軸線方向の距離をB(mm)、
前記接触部の後端と前記座面との間の軸線方向の距離をC(mm)としたとき、
0<A<4X、2≦B≦15、かつ、C≦3.2を満たすスパークプラグ。 - 前記軸線を含む断面において、
前記キャップ部により形成される副室の先端と前記接触部の後端との間の軸線方向の距離をD(mm)としたとき、C≦Dを満たす請求項1記載のスパークプラグ。 - 1.5C≦Dを満たす請求項2記載のスパークプラグ。
- B≦12を満たす請求項1から3のいずれかに記載のスパークプラグ。
