Description
先ず、図1~図15を用いて本発明に係る支持ユニット、現像剤容器、現像装置、感光体ユニット、プロセスカートリッジ及び支持ユニットの製造方法の第1実施形態の構成について説明する。
図1及び図2を用いて、本発明に係る支持ユニットを備えたプロセスカートリッジBを着脱可能に装着した画像形成装置Aの構成について説明する。図1は、本発明に係る支持ユニットを備えたプロセスカートリッジBを装着した画像形成装置Aの構成を示す断面説明図である。図2は、本発明に係る支持ユニットを備えたプロセスカートリッジBの構成を示す断面説明図である。
次に、画像形成装置Aの画像形成動作について説明する。図1に示すように、プロセスカートリッジBが画像形成装置A本体の画像形成位置に装着される。その状態で、パーソナルコンピュータ等の外部装置から送られたプリントスタート信号に基づいて、画像形成装置A本体側に設けられた駆動部から感光ドラム62に回転駆動力が伝達される。そして、感光ドラム62は、図1の矢印R方向に所定の周速度(プロセススピード)で回転駆動される。図示しない帯電バイアス電源から帯電バイアス電圧が印加された帯電ローラ66は、感光ドラム62の表面に接触し、感光ドラム62の表面を均一に帯電する。
次に、図3及び図4を用いて画像形成装置A本体に対するプロセスカートリッジBの着脱操作について説明する。図3は、本実施形態のプロセスカートリッジBが画像形成装置A本体に装着された状態でのプロセスカートリッジBと画像形成装置A本体との駆動側の位置決め部の構成を示す斜視説明図である。図4は、本実施形態のプロセスカートリッジBが画像形成装置A本体に装着された状態でのプロセスカートリッジBと画像形成装置A本体との非駆動側の位置決め部の構成を示す斜視説明図である。
画像形成装置A本体にはプロセスカートリッジBを支持するための図3に示す駆動側板15と、図4に示す非駆動側板16が設けられている。図3に示す駆動側板15には、第1支持部15aと、第2支持部15bと、回転支持部15cが設けられている。一方、図4に示す非駆動側板16には、第1支持部16aと、第2支持部16bと、回転支持部16cが設けられている。
次に、図2、図5~図9を用いて、プロセスカートリッジBの構成について説明する。図5は、本実施形態のプロセスカートリッジBの構成を示す分解斜視図である。図6は、図5を下から見た部分拡大図である。図7は、本実施形態のプロセスカートリッジBの構成を示す分解斜視図である。図8は、図7を下から見た部分拡大図である。図9は、本実施形態のプロセスカートリッジBの構成を示す分解斜視図である。尚、各部品を結合するビスは省略している。
図2に示すように、クリーニングユニット60は、クリーニング枠体71と、クリーニング枠体71に溶着等により固定される蓋部材72とを有する。クリーニング枠体71には、帯電ローラ66と、クリーニング部材77とが支持されている。クリーニングユニット60において、帯電ローラ66と、クリーニング部材77とは、それぞれ感光ドラム62の表面に接触して配置される。
クリーニング部材77は、弾性材料としてのゴムで形成されたブレード状の弾性部材であるゴムブレード77aと、ゴムブレード77aを支持する支持部材77bと、を有する。ゴムブレード77aは、感光ドラム62の図2の矢印R方向で示す回転方向に対して、カウンター方向に配置され、感光ドラム62の表面に当接している。即ち、ゴムブレード77aは、その先端部が感光ドラム62の回転方向の上流側に向かうように配置されて感光ドラム62の表面に当接している。
図2に示すように、クリーニング枠体71に支持されたクリーニング部材77により感光ドラム62の表面から除去された廃トナーは、廃トナー搬送部材としてのスクリュー86,88により搬送される。そして、クリーニング枠体71と蓋部材72とにより形成された廃トナー室71b内に回収される。
図2に示すように、現像ユニット20は、現像ローラ32と、現像ローラ32を支持する現像剤容器24と、現像ブレード42等を有して構成される。現像剤容器24は、枠体としての容器本体23と底部材22と、被固定部材としてのサイドカバー26とを有する支持ユニットとして構成される。現像剤容器24(支持ユニット)は、現像剤(トナー)を搬送する回転体を支持する。容器本体23と底部材22とサイドカバー26とは熱可塑性樹脂により構成される。枠体としての容器本体23と底部材22の材質と、被固定部材としてのサイドカバー26の材質とは、相溶性を有する。枠体としての容器本体23と底部材22とによりトナーT(現像剤)を収容する収容部が形成される。
現像剤容器24(支持ユニット)の容器本体23(枠体)には、熱可塑性樹脂からなるサイドカバー26(被固定部材)が超音波スポット溶着によって溶着される。
容器本体23(枠体)の被当接面23g(第1の面)は、撹拌部材43,44,50(回転体)の軸線と交差(好ましくは直交)する方向に延びている。容器本体23(枠体)に設けられた被当接面23i(第2の面)は、被当接面23g(第1の面)と交差(好ましくは直交)する方向に延びている。
次に、図9~図15を用いて、支持ユニットの製造方法について説明する。図9は、本実施形態の容器本体23とサイドカバー26の構成を示す分解斜視図である。図10は、本実施形態の容器本体23とサイドカバー26の構成を示す断面説明図である。図11及び図12は、本実施形態の容器本体23にサイドカバー26を結合する前の組立方法を説明する断面説明図である。図13~図15は、本実施形態の容器本体23とサイドカバー26の接合方法を説明する断面説明図である。
図9及び図10に示すように、容器本体23の駆動側(図9及び図10の右側)には、サイドカバー26が配置され、サイドカバー26の更に外側には、容器本体23にサイドカバー26を組み立てる際に用いられる組立治具90が配置されている。組立治具90は、サイドカバー26(被固定部材)を保持する第1保持部材として構成される。
次に、図13~図15を用いて、超音波スポット溶着によりサイドカバー26を容器本体23に結合する方法について説明する。図13~図15は、サイドカバー26と容器本体23との溶着箇所を示す拡大断面図である。
本発明で用いる超音波スポット溶着での接合方法について説明する。超音波スポット溶着とは、2つの部材を、超音波を用いて接合する方法の一つである。超音波溶着では、超音波振動を発生する発振装置と、発振装置に取り付けられ、超音波振動を部材に伝える共鳴体が用いられる。共鳴体は、ホーン、或いは、溶着ホーンと呼ばれる。溶着ホーンが部材に一定の加圧力を与え、超音波振動を与える。これにより2つ部材の樹脂の間に摩擦熱が発生する。この摩擦熱により樹脂が溶融し、その後、樹脂が冷却されることで固化する。これにより、部材同士が接合される。
次に、図16~図18を用いて本発明に係る支持ユニット、現像剤容器、現像装置、感光体ユニット、プロセスカートリッジ及び支持ユニットの製造方法の第2実施形態の構成について説明する。尚、前記第1実施形態と同様に構成したものは同一の符号、或いは符号が異なっても同一の部材名を付して説明を省略する。
底部材22(枠体)に設けられる被当接面22k(第3の面)は、容器本体23(枠体)に設けられる被当接面23g(第1の面)と交差(好ましくは直交)する方向に延びている。
張り出し部26j(第1の張り出し部)は、撹拌部材43,44,50(回転体)の軸線と交差(好ましくは直交)する方向において、容器本体23(枠体)の被当接面23i(第2の面)と重なる平板状で構成されている。張り出し部26j(第1の張り出し部)には、当接面26j2(第2の対向面)が設けられている。
図12に示して前述した第1実施形態と同様に、サイドカバー26は、組立治具90により把持され、枠体(容器本体23と底部材22)は、組立治具91と組立補助治具92とにより把持される。そして、組立治具90,91、組立補助治具92によりサイドカバー26と枠体(容器本体23と底部材22)とが把持される。その状態で、図16に示すように、サイドカバー26の当接面26gと、容器本体23の被当接面23gとが当接する位置まで、組立治具90,91、組立補助治具92を移動する。
次に、超音波スポット溶着によるサイドカバー26と枠体(容器本体23及び底部材22)との結合方法について説明する。図17に示すように、一対の溶着ホーン1,2をサイドカバー26の上下の張り出し部26j,26kに向けて、それぞれ図17の矢印H1,K1方向で示すホーン侵入方向に移動する。

Claims (11)
- 現像剤を搬送する回転体を支持するための支持ユニットの製造方法であって、
前記支持ユニットは、
前記回転体の軸線と交差する方向に延びる第1の面と、前記第1の面と交差する方向に延びる第2の面と、を有する枠体と、
前記第1の面と対向するように構成された第1の対向面と、前記第2の面と対向するように構成された第2の対向面と、前記第2の対向面の裏側の第1裏面と、を有する被固定部材と、
を有し、
前記被固定部材と、前記枠体の少なくともいずれか一方を移動させて、前記第1の面と前記第1の対向面とを当接させ、かつ前記第2の面と前記第2の対向面とを対向させる工程と、
超音波スポット溶着を行う溶着ホーンを、前記被固定部材の前記第2の対向面と交差する方向から前記被固定部材に当接し、前記第1裏面に凹部が形成されるように、前記第2の対向面と、前記枠体の前記第2の面とを溶融させて、前記枠体と前記被固定部材とを結合する工程と、
を有することを特徴とする支持ユニットの製造方法。 - 前記枠体は、前記第1の面と交差する方向に延びる第3の面を有し、
前記被固定部材は、前記第3の面と対向する第3の対向面と、前記第3の対向面の裏側の第2裏面と、を有し、
前記被固定部材と、前記枠体の少なくともいずれか一方を移動させて、前記第1の面と前記第1の対向面とを当接させ、かつ前記第2の面と前記第2の対向面とを対向させ、かつ前記第3の面と前記第3の対向面とを対向させる工程と、
超音波スポット溶着を行う第1の溶着ホーンを、前記被固定部材の前記第2の対向面と交差する方向から前記被固定部材に当接し、かつ超音波スポット溶着を行う第2の溶着ホーンを、前記被固定部材の前記第3の対向面と交差する方向から前記被固定部材に当接し、前記第2の対向面と、前記枠体の前記第2の面とを溶融させ、かつ前記第2裏面に凹部が形成されるように、前記第3の対向面と、前記枠体の前記第3の面とを溶融させて、前記枠体と前記被固定部材とを結合する工程と、
を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の支持ユニットの製造方法。 - 前記被固定部材は、
前記軸線と交差する方向において、前記第2の面と重なる第1の張り出し部と、
前記軸線と交差する方向において、前記第3の面と重なる第2の張り出し部と、
を有し、
前記第1の張り出し部に前記第2の対向面が設けられ、
前記第2の張り出し部に前記第3の対向面が設けられたことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の支持ユニットの製造方法。 - 前記第2の対向面と前記第3の対向面とが互いに対向して設けられていることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の支持ユニットの製造方法。
- 前記枠体の材質と、前記被固定部材の材質とは、相溶性を有することを特徴とする請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の支持ユニットの製造方法。
- 前記枠体に、現像剤を収容する収容部が備えられ、
前記第2の対向面と前記第2の面とに対して直交し、前記第2の面と前記第2の対向面とが溶着された溶着部を通る直線を引いた場合に、その直線が前記収容部を通過することを特徴とする請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載の支持ユニットの製造方法。 - 前記回転体は、前記枠体によって回転可能に支持されることを特徴とする請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載のいずれか1項に記載の支持ユニットの製造方法。
- 請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の支持ユニットの製造方法を含み、
前記回転体は、収容部内に収容された現像剤を撹拌する撹拌部材であることを特徴とする現像剤容器の製造方法。 - 請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の支持ユニットの製造方法を含み、
前記回転体は、像担持体に現像剤を供給する現像剤担持体であることを特徴とする現像装置の製造方法。 - 請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の支持ユニットの製造方法を含み、
前記回転体は、静電潜像を担持する像担持体であることを特徴とする感光体ユニットの製造方法。 - 請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の支持ユニットの製造方法を含み、
前記回転体は、静電潜像を担持する像担持体であることを特徴とするプロセスカートリッジの製造方法。
