以下に示すように画質評価を行った。X線源は、Carestream Health CS2200X線発生装置であり、画像は、Carestream Health CS7600口内歯科用スキャナーを用いて超高解像度モードでスキャンした。スクリーンを70kV、7mA、0.16秒のX線曝露にかけた。蓄積性蛍光体スクリーンの平坦場曝露によりピクセル値を得、ラインペアファントムを撮像し、目視観察することにより解像度を得た。ここで得られる画質評価からは、一貫してまたは製造したパネル1セットもしくは1バッチにわたって(例えば、平均解像度)1mm解像度あたり測定可能なラインペアが得られる。連続的なX線曝露、一定のスキャナー条件に対して、ピクセル値は、検出器により検出され、デジタル信号(例えば、コード値)に変換される、光刺激ルミネセンスによる入射X線光子の光学光子への変換における、蓄積性蛍光体スクリーンの効率を表す。結果的に、ピクセルコード値(cv)の違いは、蓄積性蛍光体スクリーン間の効率の違いを表す。
BFBI:Eu蛍光体と溶剤パッケージおよびバインダーとを混合することにより、溶剤被覆蓄積性蛍光体パネルを調製した。塩化メチレン78g、メタノール6gおよび1,3-ジオキソラン15gを混合することにより、溶剤パッケージを調製する。バインダーは、Permuthane(Stahl、Peabody MA)であり、これを、上に列挙した溶剤パッケージ中で15%に希釈する。他の成分を記載した重量%まで添加した。フィルム安定剤(チオ硫酸テトラブチルアンモニウム)は、液体と被覆状態の両方でのヨウ化物の形成を防止することを補助するために添加される20%溶液である。
BFBI:Eu蛍光体と溶剤パッケージおよびバインダーとを混合することにより、溶剤被覆蓄積性蛍光体パネルを調製した。塩化メチレン78g、メタノール6gおよび1,3-ジオキソラン15gを混合することにより、溶剤パッケージを調製する。バインダーはPermuthane(Stahl、Peabody MA)であり、これを、上に列挙した溶剤パッケージ中で15%に希釈する。他の成分を記載した重量%まで添加した。フィルム安定剤(チオ硫酸テトラブチルアンモニウム)は、液体と被覆状態の両方でヨウ化物の形成を防止することを補助するために添加される20%溶液である。青色色素(Nubiolaからアクアマリンブルー)を蛍光体重量に対して1200ppmに相当するレベルで添加する。
複合熱可塑性粒子の製造
フルオロブロモヨウ化バリウム(BFBrI)80重量%および低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE EM811A、Westlake Longview Corp.、Houston,TXから入手可能)20重量%を含む、本開示による無機蓄積性蛍光体/熱可塑性物質の複合ペレットを調製した。金型温度を220℃に設定し、混合機内の10個の加熱ゾーンを、以下の表1に示す温度に設定した。
ペレット化した複合熱可塑性材料を、1軸Davis標準押出機に充填した。押出機内の加熱ゾーンを以下の表2に示す温度に設定した。
複合熱可塑性粒子の製造
配合物が、蛍光体の重量に対して1000ppmのレベルで青色色素(ウルトラマリンブルー)を含む以外は、比較例3に記載したように試料を調製した。
無機蓄積性蛍光体層の押出またはホットプレス
複合熱可塑性粒子の製造
配合物が、蛍光体の重量に対して100ppmのレベルで青色色素(銅フタロシアニン)を含む以外は、比較例3に記載したように試料を調製した。
ペレット化した複合熱可塑性材料を、1軸Davis標準押出機に充填した。押出機内の加熱ゾーンを以下の表6に示す温度に設定した。
複合熱可塑性粒子の製造
配合物が、蛍光体の重量に対して200ppmのレベルで青色色素(銅フタロシアニン)を含む以外は、発明実施例1に記載したように試料を調製した。
ペレット化した複合熱可塑性材料を、1軸Davis標準押出機に充填した。押出機内の加熱ゾーンを以下の表7に示す温度に設定した。
以下に示すように画質評価を行った。押出プレートを、光学的に透明な接着剤(3M 8141)を使用して、黒色PET(Toray Lumirror X30-10mil)支持体に接着させる。次いで、このプレートを、Carestream CS2200X線発生装置に入れ、70kV、7mAおよび0.16秒のX線曝露にさらす。次いで、この曝露されたプレートを、控えめな周囲照明を維持して、Carestream Health CS7600口内歯科用スキャナーで超高解像度モードでスキャンする。画像をJPEGファイルとして保存し、コンピューターモニター上で欠陥計数について調べる。プレートは、約12.71cm2の面積で、全歯科サイズ2である。

比較例5に記載したように試料を調製した。主な違いは、青色色素(銅フタロシアニン)レベルが、蛍光体の重量に対して約200ppmであり、Microtrac9200FRAを用いて、無機蓄積性蛍光体粒子が、粒子の95%が直径≦6.00μでありかつ粒子の50%が直径≦3.45μであることにより特徴付けられることである。
ペレット化した複合熱可塑性材料を、1軸Davis標準押出機に充填した。押出機内の加熱ゾーンを以下の表14に示す温度に設定した。
以下に示すように画質評価を行った。押出プレートを、光学的に透明な接着剤(3M 8141)を使用して、黒色PET(Toray Lumirror X30-10mil)支持体に接着させる。溶剤被覆プレートはすでにPET支持体を有しており、更なるPET支持体の接着は行われなかった。次いで、このプレートを、Carestream Health CS2200X線発生装置に入れ、70kV、7mAおよび0.16秒のX線曝露にさらす。次いで、この曝露されたプレートを、控えめな周囲照明を維持して、Carestream Health CS7600口内歯科用スキャナーで超高解像度モードでスキャンする。平坦場画像を、線形DICOMファイルとして保存する。平均の線形ピクセル値および標準偏差を、DICOMビュアーを用いて計算し、変動係数(COV)を、標準偏差対平均線形ピクセル値の比として計算する。
CS7600口内コンピューター放射線写真プレートSN ED005947を比較例として使用した。
デュールデンタル口内コンピューター放射線写真プレートCE0124を、比較例として使用した。

溶融押出または射出成形またはホットプレスされた無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルの重要な特性は、該パネルを、標準的な装置、例えば、グラインダー、冷凍グラインダー、デンシファイア、アグロメレーターまたは任意の他の適当な装置を用いて簡単に(例えば、機械的または電気機械的に)粉砕し、それを破砕工程中および/またはその後の上記の混合工程によりペレット化し、それを再び蓄積性蛍光体パネルとして押出すことにより、再生および再使用できることである。溶融押出または射出成形またはホットプレスされた無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルを効率的に再生できるようにするためには、粉砕装置を摩耗させずに、蓄積性蛍光体パネルを粉砕できることが有益または必要である。粉砕装置を摩耗させずに、溶融押出または射出成形またはホットプレスされた無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルを粉砕する能力の重要な尺度は、パネルのその破壊強度である。溶融押出または射出成形またはホットプレスされた無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルの破壊強度は、使用中、所定の取扱いを維持するのに十分な高さでありながら、できる限り低いことが有益または必要である。

発明実施例9に記載したように試料を調製した。主な違いは、ペレット化した材料(複合熱可塑性物質)を、カーボンブラック含有低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE EM811A、Westlake Longview Corp.、Houston,TXから入手可能)と共に、430°Fで設定した金型温度で2スロット金型から共押出し、カーボンブラック含有LDPE層を含む二層押出無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルを100~200μの厚さ範囲で形成したことである。蛍光体層中の青色色素濃度は、蛍光体に対して100ppmであり、全厚は325μであった。
分析4
溶融押出または射出成形またはホットプレスされた無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルの重要な特性は、伝統的な溶剤被覆蓄積性蛍光体パネルよりもバリウム溶出率が低いことである。パネル0.67gを、希硝酸水溶液1gからなる抽出流体に浸し、それをpH2.8、25℃で72時間維持することにより、パネルからのバリウム溶出率を調べ、溶液中のバリウムイオンの濃度をICP/MSで測定した。
溶剤被覆口内コンピューター放射線写真パネル(CS7600)を比較例12として使用した。パネルは、7milのPET支持体を被覆するBaFBrI蛍光体からなり、約6μのPVDF/PMMAオーバーコートを有し、エッジは、同じオーバーコート材を用いて密閉されている。抽出流体と接触するパネルの2つの主要表面の全表面積は、25.42cm2であり、抽出流体と接触するパネルの4つのエッジ(エッジシールで覆われている)の全表面積は、0.216cm2であった。
パネルを3つに切断した以外は、比較例12で使用したものと同じ構造を有する溶剤被覆口内コンピューター放射線写真パネル(CS7600)を使用した。抽出流体と接触するパネルの2つの主要表面の全表面積は、25.42cm2であり、抽出流体と接触するパネルの12個のエッジ(一部はエッジシールで覆われており、一部はエッジシールで覆われていない)の全表面積は、0.402cm2であった。しかし、12個のエッジのうち4つだけが、エッジシールで覆われていない。したがって、曝露した(エッジシールなしの)エッジの表面積は、0.186cm2である。

パネルを3つに切断した以外は、発明実施例11で使用したものと同じ構造を有する押出無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルを使用した。抽出流体と接触するパネルの2つの主要表面の全表面積は、25.42cm2であり、抽出流体と接触するパネルの12個の曝露したエッジの全表面積は、0.402cm2であった。

溶融押出または射出成形またはホットプレスされた無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルの重要な特性は、それを再生できることである。本出願による溶融押出または射出成形またはホットプレスされた無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルのある種の実施形態は、無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルを、標準的な装置、例えば、グラインダー、冷凍グラインダー、デンシファイア、アグロメレーター、電気機械式グラインダー、機械式クラッシャーまたは任意の他の適当な装置を用いて簡単に粉砕または破砕する(例えば、細かくする/細かく砕く)ことにより再生および再使用でき、粉砕した材料を、再び溶融押出または射出成形またはホットプレスして、再生無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルを形成することができる。あるいは、一つの再生実施形態において、無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルを粉砕または破砕した後で、得られた材料を溶融混合して、複合熱可塑性粒子を形成してもよく、次いでそれを混合(例えば、溶融押出または射出成形またはホットプレス)して、再生無機蓄積性蛍光体層/パネルを形成する。無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルを効率的に再生できるようにするためには、再生材料/放射線写真パネルが、再生前のパネルのものに相当する撮像性能を有することが有益または必要である。さらに、無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルを効率的に再生できるようにするためには、個々の成分(例えば、青色色素、ポリマー、蛍光体)が、再生無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルを形成する再生中に化学的に相互作用および/または分解しないことが有益または必要である。さらに、無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルを効率的に再生できるようにするためには、再生方法実施形態が、再生無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルを混合または形成する際に、機械および温度適合性がある(例えば、個々の成分を分解しない)ことが有益または必要である。また、無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルを効率的に再生できるようにするためには、再生方法実施形態が、後続の放射線写真撮像工程を妨害しないか、または損なわないことが有益または必要である。
以下に示すように画質評価を行った。X線源は、Carestream Health CS2200X線発生装置であり、画像は、Carestream Health CS7600口内歯科用スキャナーを用いて超高解像度モードでスキャンした。蓄積性蛍光体スクリーンの平坦場曝露によりピクセル値を得、ラインペアファントムを撮像し、目視観察することにより解像度を得た。ここで得られる画質評価からは、一貫してまたは製造したパネル1セットもしくは1バッチにわたって(例えば、平均解像度)1mm解像度当たり測定可能なラインペア(LP/mm)が得られる。連続的なX線曝露、一定のスキャナー条件に対して、線形ピクセルコード値(cv)は、検出器により検出され、デジタル信号に変換される、光刺激ルミネセンスによる入射X線光子の光学光子への変換における、蓄積性蛍光体スクリーンの速度を表す。
複合熱可塑性粒子の製造
フルオロブロモヨウ化バリウム(BFBrI)86重量%および低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE EM811A、Westlake Longview Corp.、Houston,TXから入手可能)14重量%を含む、本開示による無機蓄積性蛍光体/熱可塑性物質の複合ペレットを調製し、これは蛍光体に対して約60ppmのレベルで銅フタロシアニン青色色素を含有していた。
ペレット化した複合熱可塑性材料を、1軸Davis標準押出機に充填した。押出機内の加熱ゾーンを以下の表24に示す温度に設定した。
比較例14で生成したパネルをフードプロセッサー(Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Deluxe 14-Cup Food Processor)を使用して粉砕した。パネルをフードプロセッサーに入れ、約4分間または細かく粉砕されるまで高速運転し、フードプロセッサーからの粉末フレークを比較例14に記載の手順にしたがって混合および押出した。発明実施例13において、再生したパネルの速度対X線吸収度の比は、再生前のパネルの15%以内であった。

Claims (4)
- 無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルを再生する方法であって、
少なくとも1つのポリマー、無機蓄積性蛍光体材料、および銅フタロシアニンベースの青色色素を含む無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルを得るステップと、
前記無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルを粉末またはフレークに機械的に粉砕するステップと、
前記粉砕した粉末またはフレークを、溶融押出、射出成形またはホットプレスして、再生製造無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルを形成するステップと
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であって、
前記粉砕した粉末またはフレークを混合してペレットにするステップと、
前記配合したペレットを、溶融押出、射出成形またはホットプレスして、再生製造無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルを形成するステップと
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であって、前記再生製造無機蓄積性蛍光体パネルは、無機蓄積性蛍光体層に付着した支持体をさらに含み、前記支持体が、光吸収材料を含む又は含まない、少なくとも1つのポリマーを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法であって、前記少なくとも1つのポリマーは、少なくとも1つの熱可塑性ポリオレフィン、又は少なくとも1つの熱可塑性ポリエチレンを含む熱可塑性材料であることを特徴とする方法。
