- 対象に塞栓用ビーズを送達するための塞栓用マイクロカテーテルであって、前記塞栓用マイクロカテーテルは柔軟なチューブ状壁を備え、
前記柔軟なチューブ状壁は柔軟なポリマー素材からなり、かつ前記柔軟なチューブ素材は、近位壁端部と、遠位壁端部と、および前記近位壁端部と前記遠位壁端部の間に延在する内腔を備え、
前記塞栓用マイクロカテーテルは、前記遠位壁端部に遠位流出口と、前記塞栓用ビーズの逆流を減少させるように構成され、かつ前記柔軟なチューブ状壁に形成された近位流出口であって、前記近位流出口が、前記柔軟なチューブ状壁の区画の周囲にかつ前記区画に沿って分散される複数の側面開口部を備える、近位流出口と、を備え、
前記複数の側面開口部のそれぞれは、約50ミクロン以下の最小断面寸法を有し、それによって、50ミクロンより大きな最小断面寸法を有する塞栓用ビーズがそれを通ることを阻止する一方で、流動体がそれを通ることを許容することを特徴とし、かつ前記複数の側面開口部のうち最も遠位は前記遠位流出口に対し約0mm~約10mmの範囲内に近接して位置することを特徴とし、かつ前記柔軟なチューブ状壁は前記近位流出口と前記遠位流出口との間を少なくとも延在するコイルで補強される、
塞栓用マイクロカテーテル。 - 前記複数の側面開口部のそれぞれは、約30ミクロン以下の最小断面寸法を有し、それによって、30ミクロンより大きな最小断面寸法を有する塞栓用ビーズがそれを通ることを抑止することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の塞栓用マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記柔軟なチューブ状壁が、約4mm以下の外径を有する、請求項1に記載の塞栓用マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記柔軟なチューブ状壁が、約1mm以下の外径を有する、請求項1に記載の塞栓用マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記塞栓用マイクロカテーテルは、親水性コーティングを備える、請求項1に記載の塞栓用マイクロカテーテル。
- 塞栓用マイクロカテーテルの製法であって、前記製法は:
柔軟なポリマー素材で作製される柔軟なチューブ状壁を有するマイクロカテーテルを提供する工程aであって、前記柔軟なチューブ状壁は、近位壁端部と、遠位壁端部と、前記近位壁端部と前記遠位壁端部の間に延在する内腔と、前記柔軟なチューブ状壁に形成される近位流出口と、および前記遠位壁端部に位置する遠位流出口を備え、前記柔軟なチューブ状壁は、前記近位流出口と前記遠位流出口の間を少なくとも延在するコイルで補強される、工程a;
