本発明で用いる用語「炭素ナノチューブ」は、炭素ナノチューブの単位体が全体または部分的にバンドル型をなすように集合されて形成された2次構造物であって、前記炭素ナノチューブの単位体は、グラファイトシート(graphite sheet)がナノサイズの直径のシリンダ状を有し、sp2結合構造を有する。このとき、前記グラファイトシートが巻かれる角度及び構造に応じて導体または半導体の特性を示し得る。炭素ナノチューブの単位体は、壁をなしている結合数に応じて、単一壁炭素ナノチューブ(SWCNT、single-walled carbon nanotube)、二重壁炭素ナノチューブ(DWCNT、double-walled carbon nanotube)及び多重壁炭素ナノチューブ(MWCNT、multi-walled carbon nanotube)に分類することができる。
本発明による炭素ナノチューブ分散液は、前記炭素ナノチューブの分散性向上のためにアミンを含有する高分子分散剤及び芳香族環を2つ以上含むフェノール系化合物をともに含む。前記炭素ナノチューブ分散液内で前記アミンを含有する高分子分散剤及び芳香族環を2つ以上含むフェノール系化合物は、分散剤として炭素ナノチューブの分散性を増加させる役割を担い、特に粘度の経時変化を抑制する効果を発揮することができる。
前記溶媒は、前記炭素ナノチューブ、高分子分散剤及び芳香族環を2つ以上含むフェノール系化合物を分散させるための分散媒であって、粉末状態の炭素ナノチューブを直ちに電極スラリー組成物の製造時に用いる場合、凝集されるのを防止するために予備分散させて炭素ナノチューブ分散液に供給するために用いられるものである。
以下、炭素ナノチューブ分散液の製造方法に対して説明する。本発明による導電材分散液の製造方法は、(1)炭素ナノチューブ、高分子分散剤、芳香族環を2つ以上含むフェノール系化合物、及び水系溶媒を混合して混合物を製造する段階;及び(2)前記混合物をミーリング処理する段階を含む。
また、本発明は、前記炭素ナノチューブ分散液及び電極活物質を含むリチウム二次電池用電極スラリー組成物を提供する。
リチウム二次電池は、正極、負極、前記正極及び負極の間に配置される分離膜、及び電解液を含む。前記正極及び負極は、前述の内容と同一なので、具体的な説明を省略する。
比表面積185m2/g、平均粒度(D50)93μmである多重壁炭素ナノチューブ(MWCNT、LG化学製)4重量%、高分子分散剤としてポリビニルピロリドン(PVP、Zhangzhou Huafu Chemical社製)0.6重量%、芳香族環を2つ以上含むフェノール系化合物としてタンニン酸(シグマアルドリッチ社製)0.2重量%、及び溶媒として水を混合して200gの混合物を製造した後、これにジルコニアビーズ700gを混合し、ディスクタイプミル(Dispermat-CC、VMA-Getzmaan社製)を用いて8,000rpm条件で1時間の間ミーリングすることで炭素ナノチューブ分散液を製造した。
前記実施例1で多重壁炭素ナノチューブの含量を5.14重量%に、ポリビニルピロリドンの含量を1.03重量%に、タンニン酸の含量を0.51重量%に異にしたことを除いては、実施例1と同一の方法で炭素ナノチューブ分散液を製造した。
前記実施例1でポリビニルピロリドンの含量を0.75重量%に、タンニン酸の含量を0.05重量%に異にしたことを除いては、実施例1と同一の方法で炭素ナノチューブ分散液を製造した。
前記実施例1でポリビニルピロリドンの含量を0.45重量%に、タンニン酸の含量を0.35重量%に異にしたことを除いては、実施例1と同一の方法で炭素ナノチューブ分散液を製造した。
前記実施例1でタンニン酸を含まず、ポリビニルピロリドンの含量を0.8重量%に異にしたことを除いては、実施例1と同一の方法で炭素ナノチューブ分散液を製造した。
前記実施例1でポリビニルピロリドンの含量を0.4重量%に、タンニン酸を0.4重量%にそれぞれその含量を異にしたことを除いては、実施例1と同一の方法で炭素ナノチューブ分散液を製造した。
前記実施例1でポリビニルピロリドンの代わりに同一の含量のカルボキシメチルセルロース(Daicel社製)を用いたことを除いては、実施例1と同一の方法で炭素ナノチューブ分散液を製造した。
前記実施例1から4と、比較例1から3の炭素ナノチューブ分散液の粘度を測定し、これらを25℃で1週間放置した後の粘度を再び測定し、その結果を下記表1に示した。
Claims (10)
- 炭素ナノチューブ(CNT)、アミンを含有する高分子分散剤、芳香族環を2つ以上含むフェノール系化合物、及び水系溶媒を含み、
前記アミンを含有する高分子分散剤及び前記芳香族環を2つ以上含むフェノール系化合物を100:20から100:80の重量比で含む、炭素ナノチューブ分散液。 - 前記炭素ナノチューブは、210m2/g以下の比表面積(BET)を有する、請求項1に記載の炭素ナノチューブ分散液。
- 前記炭素ナノチューブは、前記炭素ナノチューブ分散液の100重量部に対して2重量部から10重量部含まれる、請求項1または2に記載の炭素ナノチューブ分散液。
- 前記アミンを含有する高分子分散剤は、ポリビニルピロリドン(polyvinylpyrrolidone)、ポリアクリル酸ヒドラジド(polyacrylic acid hydrazide)、ポリ-N-ビニル-5-メトキサゾリドン(poly-N-vinyl-5-methoxazolidon)、N-アルキルポリイミン(N-alkyl polyimine)、N-アセチルポリイミン(N-acetyl polyimine)、ポリアクリルアミド(polyacrylamide)、ポリ-L-リジンヒドロブロミド(poly-L-lysine hydrobromide)、ベンジル-ドデシル-ジメチルアンモニウムクロリド(benzyl-dodecyl-dimethylammonium chloride)、及びポリエチレンイミン(polyethylenimine)からなる群より選択される1種以上である、請求項1~3のいずれかに記載の炭素ナノチューブ分散液。
- 前記芳香族環を2つ以上含むフェノール系化合物は、前記芳香族環のうち1つ以上にフェノール構造、カテコール構造、ガロール構造、及びナフトール構造からなる群より選択される1つ以上の構造を含む、請求項1~4のいずれかに記載の炭素ナノチューブ分散液。
- 前記芳香族環を2つ以上含むフェノール系化合物は、分子構造内に3つ以上の芳香族環が融合(fused)された構造を含まない、請求項1~5のいずれかに記載の炭素ナノチューブ分散液。
- 前記芳香族環を2つ以上含むフェノール系化合物は、バイカリン、ルテオリン、タキシフォリン、ミリセチン、クェルセチン、ルチン、カテキン、没食子酸エピガロカテキン、ブテイン(butein)、ピセアタンノール及びタンニン酸からなる群より選択される1種以上である、請求項1~6のいずれかに記載の炭素ナノチューブ分散液。
- 前記炭素ナノチューブ分散液は、前記炭素ナノチューブ100重量部を基準としてアミンを含有する高分子分散剤及び芳香族環を2つ以上含むフェノール系化合物を合計量で11重量部から100重量部含む、請求項1~7のいずれかに記載の炭素ナノチューブ分散液。
- 請求項1~8のいずれかに記載の炭素ナノチューブ分散液及び電極活物質を含むリチウム二次電池用電極スラリー組成物。
- (1)炭素ナノチューブ、アミンを含有する高分子分散剤、芳香族環を2つ以上含むフェノール系化合物、及び水系溶媒を混合して混合物を製造する段階;及び
(2)前記混合物をミーリング処理する段階を含む、請求項1~8のいずれかに記載の炭素ナノチューブ分散液の製造方法。
