Description
コアと少なくとも1層のシース層とを有し、加硫後において、最外層シース層を構成する金属フィラメント間の距離が100μm以下であり、かつ、軸方向に直交する方向の断面における、前記最外層シース層を構成する各金属フィラメントの中心を結んで囲まれる領域のうち、前記金属フィラメント以外が占める領域を隙間領域としたとき、該隙間領域に対する、前記樹脂フィラメント由来の高分子材料の面積の割合である充填率が52~120%であり、
前記樹脂フィラメントが無機フィラーを含有することを特徴とするものである。ここで、融点とは、JIS K 7121に記載されている熱流束示差走査熱量測定における融解ピーク温度のことをいう。また、軟化点とは、JIS K 7206(1999)に記載されている軟化点試験方法を用いて測定された値をいう。
本発明のエラストマー補強用コードは、金属フィラメントと、融点または軟化点が80℃以上160℃以下である高分子材料からなる樹脂フィラメントと、が撚り合わされてなるものである。図1は、本発明の一好適な実施の形態に係るエラストマー補強用コードの加硫前における軸方向に直交する方向の断面図である。図1に示すように、本発明のコード10は、コアと少なくとも1層のシース層とを有しており、図示例においては、3本の金属フィラメント1aを撚り合わせてなるコアと、このコアの周りに撚り合わされてなる9本の金属フィラメント1bが巻き付けられてなるシース層を有しており、コアの中心に1本の樹脂フィラメント2aが配置され、さらに、コアの周りに3本の樹脂フィラメント2bが撚り合わされているが、本発明のコードの構造は、これに限られるものではない。
<参考例1~7および比較例1~3>
表1、2に示す線径のスチールフィラメントおよび同表に示す線径の樹脂フィラメントを用いて、チューブラー型撚線機にて、図9、3、4に示す構造の参考例5、比較例1、2のコードをそれぞれ作製した。参考例5、比較例1、2では、各コードを被覆ゴムでコーティングしてコード-ゴム複合体を作製した。参考例1~4、6、7および比較例3のコードについては、表1、2に示す線径のスチールフィラメントおよび同表に示す線径の樹脂フィラメントを用いて、チューブラー型撚線機にて製造する。参考例1~4、6、7および比較例3では、各コードを被覆ゴムでコーティングしてコード-ゴム複合体を作製する。ここで、同表中の樹脂フィラメント種のAは、ハイミラン1702(三井デュポンポリケミカル(株)社製)およびタフテックM1943(旭化成(株)社製)を8:2の割合で混合した樹脂(軟化点:95℃)であり、樹脂フィラメント種のBはハイミラン1702(融点:90℃)である。
参考例1~4、6、7および比較例3では、得られたコード-ゴム複合体につき、145℃で40分間加硫し、加硫後の参考例1~4、6、7および比較例3のコード-ゴム複合体から切り出したゴム付きのスチールコードの表面をシリコーンシーラントで被覆し、乾燥後、両端をサンプル長100mmとなるように切断し、参考例1~4、6、7および比較例3のコードの一方の端部を樹脂で塞ぎ、もう一方の端を10%水酸化ナトリウム水溶液へ24時間浸漬後、液から取り出し、参考例1~4、6、7および比較例3のコード端からのゴムの剥離長さ(サビ進展長さ)を測定した。参考例1~4、6、7および比較例3において、これをN=10~30本行い、バラツキとその絶対値のレベルを剥離長さの最小から最大の範囲と中央値メジアンで比較評価した。また、充填率とサビ進展長さとの予想される関係を表すグラフを図10に示す。

Claims (11)
- 金属フィラメントと、融点または軟化点が80℃以上160℃以下である高分子材料からなる樹脂フィラメントと、が撚り合わされてなるエラストマー補強用コードにおいて、
コアと少なくとも1層のシース層とを有し、加硫後において、最外層シース層を構成する金属フィラメント間の距離が100μm以下であり、かつ、軸方向に直交する方向の断面における、前記最外層シース層を構成する各金属フィラメントの中心を結んで囲まれる領域のうち、前記金属フィラメント以外が占める領域を隙間領域としたとき、該隙間領域に対する、前記樹脂フィラメント由来の高分子材料の面積の割合である充填率が52~120%であり、
前記樹脂フィラメントが無機フィラーを含有することを特徴とするエラストマー補強用コード。 - 前記無機フィラーの添加量が、前記高分子材料100質量部に対して0.1~30質量部である請求項1記載のエラストマー補強用コード。
- 前記充填率が、60~120%である請求項1または2記載のエラストマー補強用コード。
- 前記エラストマー補強用コードの軸方向において、最外層シース層の撚りピッチの2倍の範囲を、2mm間隔で軸方向に直交する方向の断面を観察したとき、隣り合う観察面の空隙が3ヶ所以上軸方向に連通していない請求項1~3のうちいずれか一項記載のエラストマー補強用コード。
- 前記最外層シース層を構成する金属フィラメント間の距離が、20μm以下である請求項1~4のうちいずれか一項記載のエラストマー補強用コード。
- 前記高分子材料が、マレイン酸変性ポリエチレンを含む請求項1~5のうちいずれか一項記載のエラストマー補強用コード。
- 前記高分子材料が、アイオノマーを含む請求項1~6のうちいずれか一項記載のエラストマー補強用コード。
- 前記樹脂フィラメントの線径が、0.1mm以上である請求項1~7のうちいずれか一項記載のエラストマー補強用コード。
- 前記高分子材料のJIS K 7210で規定されるメルトフローレートが、7.0g/min.以上である請求項1~8のうちいずれか一項記載のエラストマー補強用コード。
- 前記高分子材料の融点または軟化点が、130℃以上160℃以下である請求項1~9のうちいずれか一項記載のエラストマー補強用コード。
- 前記コアが、3本の金属フィラメントが撚り合わされてなる請求項1~10のうちいずれか一項記載のエラストマー補強用コード。
