Description
以下に本開示の第1実施形態について図面を用いて詳細に説明する。図1は、炭素繊維複合素材10の構成を示す図である。炭素繊維複合素材10は、炭素繊維強化樹脂複合材料に用いられる。炭素繊維複合素材10は、炭素繊維強化樹脂複合材料の強化材として用いられるとよい。炭素繊維複合素材10は、連続炭素繊維12で形成される炭素繊維素材14と、連続炭素繊維12の表面に形成されるカーボンナノウォール16と、を備えている。
次に、本開示の第2実施形態について図面を用いて詳細に説明する。図8は、炭素繊維複合素材10の製造方法の構成を示すフローチャートである。第2実施形態の炭素繊維複合素材の製造方法は、第1実施形態の炭素繊維複合素材10の製造方法と、主に、表面活性化処理工程(S22)が設けられている点で相違している。なお、同様の構成には同じ符号を付し、詳細な説明を省略する。
次に、本開示の第3実施形態について図面を用いて詳細に説明する。第3実施形態は、第2実施形態と、炭素繊維複合素材10の製造装置の構成が相違している。図9は、炭素繊維複合素材10の製造装置100の構成を示す図である。図9においては、XYZ直交座標系を設定し、このXYZ直交座標系を参照しつつ各部の位置関係について説明する。そして、水平面内における所定方向をX軸方法、水平面内においてX軸方向と直交する方向をY軸方向、X軸方向及びY軸方向のそれぞれに直交する方向(鉛直方向)をZ軸方向とする。なお、同様の構成には同じ符号を付し、詳細な説明を省略する。
(カーボンナノウォールの形成)
炭素繊維素材には、連続炭素繊維を使用した。炭素繊維複合素材の製造装置には、上述した図3に示す炭素繊維複合素材10の製造装置20を使用した。まず、炭素繊維素材を加熱して、連続炭素繊維に付着しているサイジング剤等を除去した。
カーボンナノウォールを形成する前のサイジング剤等を除去した連続炭素繊維と、カーボンナノウォールを被膜状に形成した連続炭素繊維とについて、走査型電子顕微鏡(SEM)によりミクロ組織観察を行った。図10は、カーボンナノウォールを形成する前の連続炭素繊維の表面のミクロ組織観察結果を示す写真である。図11は、カーボンナノウォールを被膜状に形成した連続炭素繊維の表面のミクロ組織観察結果を示す写真である。図11の写真に示すように、連続炭素繊維の表面に、カーボンナノウォールが被膜状に形成しているのが認められた。カーボンナノウォールからなる被膜の膜厚は、約0.5μmであった。
次に、カーボンナノウォールを形成する前の連続炭素繊維と、カーボンナノウォールを被膜状に形成した連続炭素繊維について、エポキシ樹脂との界面密着性評価試験を行った。界面密着性評価試験には、マイクロドロップレット法を用いた。カーボンナノウォールを形成する前の連続炭素繊維と、カーボンナノウォールを被膜状に形成した連続炭素繊維とについて、エポキシ樹脂からなる樹脂玉を付着させてから各々の連続炭素繊維を引抜いて界面せん断強度を測定した。界面せん断強度は、試験体数5体の平均値とした。
Claims (5)
- 炭素繊維強化樹脂複合材料用の炭素繊維複合素材の製造方法であって、
連続炭素繊維で形成される炭素繊維素材が巻回された送出ボビンから、前記炭素繊維素材を予熱して送り出す送出工程と、
前記送出ボビンから送り出された炭素繊維素材を500℃以上で加熱すると共に、炭素源ガスを含む原料ガスを供給してプラズマ中で反応させることにより、前記炭素繊維素材の連続炭素繊維の表面にカーボンナノウォールを形成するカーボンナノウォール形成工程と、
前記連続炭素繊維の表面にカーボンナノウォールを形成した炭素繊維素材を、巻取ボビンに巻き取る巻取工程と、
を備える、炭素繊維複合素材の製造方法。 - 請求項1に記載の炭素繊維複合素材の製造方法であって、
前記連続炭素繊維の表面にカーボンナノウォールを形成する前に、前記送出ボビンから送り出された炭素繊維素材を、炭素源ガスを含まず、不活性ガスを含むプラズマを前記連続炭素繊維に供給する表面活性化処理工程を備える、炭素繊維複合素材の製造方法。 - 請求項1または2に記載の炭素繊維複合素材の製造方法であって、

前記装置本体に設けられ、前記第二室にプラズマを発生させる第二プラズマ発生部と、
前記第一室に設けられ、前記炭素繊維素材が巻回され、前記炭素繊維素材を送り出す送出ボビンと、
前記第二室に設けられ、前記連続炭素繊維の表面にカーボンナノウォールを形成した炭素繊維素材を巻き取る巻取ボビンと、
前記第一室に設けられ、前記第一プラズマ発生部と前記炭素繊維素材を挟んで対向して配置され、前記炭素繊維素材を加熱する第一加熱部と、
前記第二室に設けられ、前記第二プラズマ発生部と前記表面活性化処理した炭素繊維素材を挟んで対向して配置され、前記表面活性化処理した炭素繊維素材を加熱する第二加熱部と、
を備える、炭素繊維複合素材の製造装置。
