Claims (6)
- 用紙を搬送する用紙搬送路における残留紙の有無を判定する残留紙判定装置であって,
前記用紙搬送路の静電容量を検出する静電容量センサーと,
前記静電容量センサーの検出値と、判定閾値とを比較することによって残留紙の有無を判定する残留紙判定部と,
前記用紙搬送路に用紙が存在していないときの前記静電容量センサーの検出値に基づいて、前記判定閾値を設定する閾値設定部とを有し,
前記閾値設定部は,電源がオンでプリント動作が開始されていないときには常時前記判定閾値の設定を行うものであり,
前記残留紙判定部は,最新の前記判定閾値を前記静電容量センサーの検出値との対比に供するものであることを特徴とする残留紙判定装置。 - 請求項1に記載の残留紙判定装置であって,前記残留紙判定部は,
前記用紙搬送路の用紙搬送が停止した時における前記静電容量センサーの検出値を,前記判定閾値との対比に供するものであることを特徴とする残留紙判定装置。 - 請求項1または請求項2に記載の残留紙判定装置であって,前記静電容量センサーは,
前記用紙搬送路の少なくとも片面側のガイド板に配置されていることを特徴とする残留紙判定装置。 - 請求項1から請求項3までのいずれか1つに記載の残留紙判定装置であって,前記閾値設定部は、
前記用紙搬送路に用紙が存在していないときにおける前記静電容量センサーの検出値に基づいてベースレベルを設定し、
前記ベースレベルに,あらかじめ定められた既定値を上乗せすることで前記判定閾値を設定することを特徴とする残留紙判定装置。 - 請求項4に記載の残留紙判定装置であって,前記閾値設定部における前記既定値は,
前記用紙搬送路に通されることが想定されている中で最も坪量が少ない紙種の用紙を基準に定められていることを特徴とする残留紙判定装置。 - 請求項1から請求項5までのいずれか1つに記載の残留紙判定装置であって、
前記閾値設定部は、前記判定閾値を、あらかじめ定めた長さの時間にわたる前記静電容量センサーの検出値に基づいて設定することを特徴とする残留紙判定装置。
