Description
図1および図2は、一実施形態に係るマルチコア光ファイバの製造方法を説明する図である。マルチコア光ファイバの製造にあたっては、まず、母材作製工程として、共通クラッド管1を作製する。
図3および図4は、比較例に係るマルチコア光ファイバの製造方法を説明する図である。比較例に係るマルチコア光ファイバの製造方法に当たっては、母材作製工程として、共通クラッド管1を作製する。
Claims (4)
- 第1端と第2端との間で軸方向に形成された内径dvである複数の空孔を有する石英ガラス製の共通クラッド管であって、複数の前記空孔のうち最外周の前記空孔と前記共通クラッド管の外周との間の肉厚d1を有する前記共通クラッド管を作製する母材作製工程と、
前記外周を除き前記共通クラッド管を前記第2端から前記軸方向に所定深さ切削し、第3端を形成する端面加工工程と、
前記第2端に肉厚d2が前記内径dvと前記肉厚d1の合計よりも大きなガラス管を接続する接続工程と、
前記共通クラッド管の前記複数の空孔に石英ガラス製のコアロッドを前記第3端まで挿入する挿入工程と、
前記第1端を封止する封止工程と、
前記ガラス管を通じて前記複数の空孔の内部を減圧し、前記第1端側から前記共通クラッド管および前記コアロッドを一体化しながら紡糸してマルチコア光ファイバを製造する線引工程と、
を含む、マルチコア光ファイバの製造方法。 - 前記所定深さは20mm以上であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のマルチコア光ファイバの製造方法。
- 前記共通クラッド管の前記ガラス管との接続面積Sおよび前記挿入工程により前記空孔に前記コアロッドが挿入され前記封止工程により前記第1端が封止された前記共通クラッド管の重量Mに対し、前記線引工程において前記共通クラッド管の前記ガラス管との接続面に加わる引っ張り応力(M/S)が2kgf/cm2以下であることを特徴とする、請求項1または請求項2に記載のマルチコア光ファイバの製造方法。
- 前記封止工程は、前記第1端にガラスブロックを接続し、前記第1端を封止する工程である、請求項1から請求項3のいずれかに記載のマルチコア光ファイバの製造方法。
