Description
図3は、図2の車両用灯具100の動作波形図である。ここではN=3とする。期間T0では、すべてのバイパススイッチSWB1〜SWB3がオフであり、すべての発光素子302_1〜302_3が発光する。このときのスイッチングコンバータ210の出力電圧VOは3×VFとなる。VFは発光素子302の順電圧である。なおランプ電流ILAMPを直線で示しているが、実際にはリップルが含まれてもよい。
この車両用灯具100の動作は以下の比較技術との対比によって明確となる。比較技術では、全消灯状態T3において、スイッチングコンバータ210が完全に停止し、ランプ電流ILAMPがゼロとなる。通常、スイッチングコンバータ210が完全停止した後に、動作を再開させる際にはソフトスタート制御が行われるため、ランプ電流ILAMPがもとの目標電流に戻るまでには大きな遅延が発生する。

拡散領域用の発光ユニット113_1、113_2は、第6チャンネルCH6となる。
複数の発光素子302の点灯、消灯は、バイパスコントローラ290によって制御される。したがってバイパスコントローラ290は、いつ全消灯状態が発生するかを知っている。そこで判定回路540は、バイパスコントローラ290からの情報にもとづいて全消灯状態か点灯状態かを判定してもよい。第1変形例は、図2に一点鎖線で示される。あるいは判定回路540の機能を、バイパスコントローラ290に実装してもよい。
実施例では、スイッチングコンバータ210を降圧コンバータとしたが、昇圧コンバータや昇降圧コンバータであってもよい。
実施の形態では、第2コントローラ520が第2電流検出手段214からの第2検出信号VCS2にもとづいて第2制御パルスSCNT2を生成することとしたが、その限りではない。第2コントローラ520は、完全にオープンループで、第2制御パルスSCNT2を生成してもよい。この場合、ランプ電流ILAMPが安定するレベルは、入力電圧に依存することとなるが、第2コントローラ520を簡素化できる。たとえば第2コントローラ520を、オシレータで構成してもよい。
Claims (5)
- 直列に接続された複数の発光素子を含む光源を駆動する点灯回路であって、
それぞれが対応する発光素子と並列に接続される複数のバイパススイッチと、
スイッチングコンバータと、
(i)複数の発光素子の少なくともひとつが点灯する点灯状態において、前記スイッチングコンバータが生成するランプ電流を第1目標量に安定化し、(ii)前記複数の発光素子すべてが消灯する全消灯状態において、前記ランプ電流を前記第1目標量より少ない第2目標量に安定化するコンバータコントローラと、
を備え、
前記コンバータコントローラは、
前記点灯状態において相対的に高精度な制御方式で第1制御パルスを生成する第1コントローラと、
前記全消灯状態において、相対的に精度の低い制御方式で第2制御パルスを生成する第2コントローラと、
前記第1制御パルスおよび前記第2制御パルスに応じて前記スイッチングコンバータを駆動するドライバ回路と、
を含むことを特徴とする点灯回路。 - 前記光源の両端間電圧を所定のしきい値電圧と比較し、前記光源の両端間電圧が前記しきい値電圧より低くなると、前記全消灯状態と判定する判定回路をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の点灯回路。
- 前記複数のバイパススイッチを制御するバイパスコントローラと、
前記バイパスコントローラからの制御信号に応じて、前記全消灯状態を検出する判定回路と、
をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の点灯回路。 - 直列に接続された複数の発光素子を含む光源と、
前記光源を点灯させる請求項1または2に記載の点灯回路と、
を備えることを特徴とする車両用灯具。 - 前記光源の出射光を受け、車両前方で走査するスキャン光学系をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の車両用灯具。
