Description
図1は、実施形態1に係る液晶表示装置10の概略構成を示す斜視図である。図1に示すように、液晶表示装置10は、観察者に近い位置(前側)に配置された表示パネル100と、表示パネル100より観察者から遠い位置(後側)に配置された表示パネル200と、表示パネル100及び表示パネル200を貼り合わせて固定する接着層400と、表示パネル200の背面側に配置されたバックライト500と、表示面側から表示パネル100及び表示パネル200を覆うフロントシャーシ600とを含んでいる。
本発明の実施形態2について、図面を用いて以下に説明する。なお、説明の便宜上、実施形態1において示した構成要素と構成要素には同一の符号を付し、その説明を省略する。また、実施形態1において定義した用語については特に断らない限り本実施形態においてもその定義に則って用いるものとする。
Claims (9)
- 複数の表示パネルが重ね合わされて配置され、それぞれの前記表示パネルが画像を表示する液晶表示装置であって、
第1ガラス基板と、前記第1ガラス基板に対して第1方向に対向配置された第2ガラス基板と、前記第1ガラス基板と前記第2ガラス基板との間に配置された第1液晶層と、を備える第1表示パネルと、
前記第1ガラス基板に対して前記第1方向の反対方向である第2方向に対向配置された第3ガラス基板と、前記第3ガラス基板に対して前記第2方向に対向配置された第4ガラス基板と、前記第3ガラス基板と前記第4ガラス基板との間に配置された第2液晶層と、を備える第2表示パネルと、
前記第1ガラス基板の前記第2方向側の第1面に形成された第1偏光板と、
前記第3ガラス基板の前記第1方向側の第1面に形成された第2偏光板と、
前記第1ガラス基板と前記第3ガラス基板との間に配置された接着層と、
を含み、
前記第1表示パネルは複数の第1の画素を有し、
前記第2表示パネルは前記複数の第1の画素と平面視で重なる複数の第2の画素を有し、
平面視で、前記接着層は、前記第1偏光板及び前記第2偏光板の外側に配置されており、
前記第1偏光板と前記第2偏光板との間には、空隙が形成され、
前記接着層の前記第1方向側の面は、前記第1ガラス基板の前記第1面に接着されており、前記接着層の前記第2方向側の面は、前記第3ガラス基板の前記第1面に接着されている、
ことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 複数の表示パネルが重ね合わされて配置され、それぞれの前記表示パネルが画像を表示する液晶表示装置であって、
第1ガラス基板と、前記第1ガラス基板に対して第1方向に対向配置された第2ガラス基板と、前記第1ガラス基板と前記第2ガラス基板との間に配置された第1液晶層と、を備える第1表示パネルと、
前記第1ガラス基板に対して前記第1方向の反対方向である第2方向に対向配置された第3ガラス基板と、前記第3ガラス基板に対して前記第2方向に対向配置された第4ガラス基板と、前記第3ガラス基板と前記第4ガラス基板との間に配置された第2液晶層と、を備える第2表示パネルと、
前記第1ガラス基板の前記第2方向側の第1面に形成された第1偏光板と、
前記第3ガラス基板の前記第1方向側の第1面に形成された第2偏光板と、
前記第1偏光板と前記第2偏光板との間に配置された接着層と、
を含み、
前記第1表示パネルは複数の第1の画素を有し、
前記第2表示パネルは前記複数の第1の画素と平面視で重なる複数の第2の画素を有し、
平面視で、前記接着層は、前記第1偏光板及び前記第2偏光板の外周端部に重なるとともに前記第1偏光板及び前記第2偏光板の辺に沿って設けられ、
前記第1偏光板と前記第2偏光板との間には、空隙が形成され、
前記接着層の前記第1方向側の面は、前記第1偏光板の前記第2方向側の面に接着されており、前記接着層の前記第2方向側の面は、前記第2偏光板の前記第1方向側の面に接着されている、
ことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記接着層の厚みは、前記第1偏光板の厚みと前記第2偏光板の厚みとを合計した厚みより厚い、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1偏光板の前記第2方向側の面と、前記第2偏光板の前記第1方向側の面との少なくとも何れか一方は、粗面加工が施されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記接着層は、前記画像が表示される画像表示領域を取り囲むように全周にわたって配置されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記接着層は、第1部分と、前記第1部分より粘着力が弱い第2部分とを含む、
ことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記接着層の一部に開口部が形成されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記接着層は、駆動回路が配置された辺に沿って配置された第1部分と、前記第1部分に対向配置された第2部分とを含み、
前記開口部は、前記第1部分と前記第2部分とに形成されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記各表示パネルは、COF(Chip on Film)部を含み、
平面視で、前記接着層は、前記COF部を避けた領域に配置されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の液晶表示装置。
