前記導電要素の前記第2の平面的な主要平面に隣接して配置された第2のパッドであって、前記第2のパッドおよび前記導電要素が協働して、前記第1の側と反対側の前記可逆式安全電気外科リターン電極の第2の側に前記可逆式安全電気外科リターン電極の第2の作用表面を画定する、第2のパッドと
を備え、
前記可逆式安全電気外科リターン電極は、電気外科処置中、前記第1の作用表面または前記第2の作用表面を患者に向けて配置させるように構成されており、
前記第2のパッドは外側カバー層および充填材料を備え、

- 前記第1のパッドの内部チャンバは、粘弾性材料、ゲル、水、生理食塩水、水ベース材料、導電性油、またはその組み合わせからなる群から選択された材料によって充填されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の可逆式安全電気外科リターン電極。

- 前記第1のパッドおよび前記第2のパッドの各々は、約0.508mm(約0.02インチ)から約3.048mm(約0.120インチ)の間の厚さを有することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の可逆式安全電気外科リターン電極。
