Shelters for housing aircraft.-A hangar for airships is arranged to float on water in a basin 1 and to turn about a central pivot 2 so that the hangar may be brought to the proper position relatively to the wind. By lowering the water level, the hangar is caused to sink below the level of the top of the basin to protect it from the elements. The hangar as shown is provided with a semicircular front portion, and the pivot 2 is. in such a position that the hangar comes head to wind. Water ballast tanks may be provided to adjust the level of the floor of the hangar. The head of the hangar is not provided with doors, and such doors as are used are of the sliding type. Provision may also be made for housing aeroplanes.
