Abstract

379,106. Cabins. THORNYCROFT & CO., Ltd., J. I. and LEYLAND, R., Thornycroft House, Smith Square, London. Sept. 8, 1931, No. 25189. [Class 113 (i).] A cabin for a motor launch is arranged so that it can be raised from or lowered into a space in the hold. The cabin 3 fits into a coaming 4 which is provided at its corners with metal wearing strips. The raising and lowering of the cabin is assisted by spring-controlled rollers 6 connected to the bottom of the cabin by cords 7. Water which penetrates between the cabin and coaming is collected in gutters 10 and delivered to the scuppers. Slots 11a in the bottom accommodate these gutters when the cabin is lowered. The cabin in its raised position is secured by bolts 5.
