Description
少なくとも約0.1モル%〜約5モル%の下記式(I)
M+はアルカリ金属イオン、アルカリ土類金属イオン、ホスホニウムイオン又はアンモニウムイオンである。高ガスバリア性を必要とする物品は、ビールや炭酸飲料、水、ジュース等のボトルである。
a.スルホ修飾コポリエステルとポリアルキレンフラノエートとをドライブレンドする工程と、
b.押出機で前記ブレンドを溶融する工程と、
c.物品を成形する工程と、
d.任意選択的に前記物品を延伸する工程と、
を含み、前記組成物は、約75モル%〜約95モル%のスルホ修飾コポリエステルと、約5〜約25モル%のポリアルキレンフラノエートとの均質な混合物を含み、前記組成物が100モル%である。
0.1モル%以上5.0モル%以下の下記式(I)
1.ガス透過性
ボトル側壁の酸素透過率は、Mocon Ox−Tran 2/21装置(MOCON社、ミネソタ州ミネアポリス)で、25℃且つ50%の相対湿度において、ASTMの方法D3985−05に従って測定した。透過率の値(P)は、(cc(STP).cm)/(m2.atm.day))の単位で示す。
固有粘度(IV)は、ASTMの方法D4603−96を利用して測定される。
プリフォーム及びボトル壁のヘイズは、Hunter Lab ColorQuest II装置で測定した。D65光源を、CIE 1964 10°標準観測者と共に使用した。ヘイズは、CIE Y拡散透過率の、CIE Y全透過率に対する百分率として定義される。
非結晶ポリマーに存在するイソフタル酸の百分率を、紫外線検出器と共にHewlett Packard Liquid Chromatograph(HPLC)を使用して285ナノメートルにおいて測定した。非結晶ポリマーサンプルを、230℃で3時間、ステンレス鋼ボンベの中で希硫酸(1リットル脱イオン水中10ml酸)において加水分解した。冷却後、ボンベからの水溶液を、3倍容量のメタノール(HPLCグレード)及び内部標準溶液と混合した。混合溶液をHPLCに導入して分析した。
粉砕ポリマーサンプルの金属含有量は、Atom Scan 16 ICP Emission Spectrographで測定した。サンプルはエタノールアミン中で加熱することによって溶解し、冷却時に蒸留水を加えてテレフタル酸を結晶化させた。溶液を遠心分離し、上澄み液を分析した。分析対象のサンプルからの原子発光と、金属イオン濃度が既知である溶液からの原子発光との比較により、ポリマーサンプルに保持されている金属の実験値を測定した。
本発明のコポリエステル樹脂は、典型的には、Arburg社の単一キャビティ射出成形機を用いて、170〜180℃で4〜6時間の乾燥後、乾燥したポリアルキレンフラノエートとブレンドし、溶融して、24.5gのプリフォームへと射出成形される。このプリフォームの延伸比は、14±1である。そしてプリフォームは、低ブロー圧力が約12バールであるSidel社のSB01延伸ブロー成形機を用いて、約100〜120℃に加熱され、0.50リットルのボトルにブロー成形される。ボトル側壁は、0.24mmの平均厚さを有していた。
以下の実施例において利用されているように、PET1101は、0.82dl/gのIVを有し且つ1.9モル%のイソフタル酸を含有するポリエチレンテレフタラートであり、PET2312は、1.2モル%の5−スルホイソフタル酸のナトリウム塩を含有し且つ0.82dl/gのIVを有するスルホ修飾コポリエステルであり、両者はAuriga Polymers社(スパータンバーグ、米国サウスカロライナ州)から得た。1.14dl/gのIVを有するポリトリメチレンフラノエートを、デュポン社(ウィルミントン、米国デラウェア州)から得た。
10重量%及び20重量%のPTFを含有するPET1101、PET2312のブレンドを、2つの射出温度にて0.5リットルのボトルに射出延伸ブロー成形した。ボトル側壁の酸素透過率及びヘイズを測定した結果を表1に示す。
Claims (3)
- 40〜45重量%のポリエチレンテレフタラートと、40〜45重量%のスルホ修飾コポリエステルと、10〜20重量%のポリトリメチレンフラノエートとの均質な混合物を含む、容器用のポリエステル組成物。
- 請求項1に記載のポリエステル組成物を、280〜290℃にて射出延伸ブロー成形することにより得られるボトル。
- ポリエチレンテレフタラート、スルホ修飾コポリエステル、及びポリトリメチレンフラノエートを含む物品を製造する方法であって、
ポリエチレンテレフタラート、スルホ修飾コポリエステル、及びポリトリメチレンフラノエートをドライブレンドする工程と、
押出機で前記ブレンドを溶融する工程と、
物品を成形する工程と、
前記物品を延伸する工程と、
を含み、
前記組成物は、40〜45重量%のポリエチレンテレフタラートと、40〜45重量%のスルホ修飾コポリエステルと、10〜20重量%のポリトリメチレンフラノエートとの均質な混合物を含む、
