Description
図1に、本実施形態の回路装置100(表示ドライバー)の第1構成例を示す。回路装置100は、インターフェース部10(インターフェース回路)、データ処理部20(データ処理回路)、D/A変換部30(D/A変換回路)、駆動部60(駆動回路)、第1色成分入力端子TRD、第2色成分入力端子TGD、第3色成分入力端子TBD、クロック入力端子TPCK、モード設定端子TBS、TMC、インターフェース端子TMPI、データ線駆動端子TS1〜TSn(nは2以上の整数)、ゲート線駆動端子TG1〜TGm(mは2以上の整数)を含む。駆動部60は、データ線駆動部40(データ線駆動回路)、ゲート線駆動部50(ゲート線駆動回路)を含む。回路装置100は例えば集積回路装置(IC)等で実現される。
図2に、本実施形態の回路装置100の動作説明図を示す。
図7に、データ処理部20の詳細な構成例を示す。データ処理部20は、シリアルパラレル変換回路21、第1のラッチ回路22、選択回路23、第2のラッチ回路24、制御回路25を含む。
図9に、本実施形態の回路装置100を適用できる電気光学装置と電子機器の構成例を示す。本実施形態の電子機器として、例えば車載表示装置(例えばメーターパネル等)、プロジェクターや、テレビション装置、情報処理装置(コンピューター)、携帯型情報端末、カーナビゲーションシステム、携帯型ゲーム端末等の、表示装置を搭載する種々の電子機器を想定できる。

Claims (6)
- 表示データが入力されるインターフェース部と、
前記表示データのデータ処理を行うデータ処理部と、
前記データ処理部からの前記表示データに基づいて表示パネルを駆動する駆動部と、
第1色成分入力チャンネルの前記表示データを前記インターフェース部に入力する第1色成分入力端子と、
第2色成分入力チャンネルの前記表示データを前記インターフェース部に入力する第2色成分入力端子と、
第3色成分入力チャンネルの前記表示データを前記インターフェース部に入力する第3色成分入力端子と、
を含み、
モノクロ表示モードとカラー表示モードとが設定されることが可能であり、
第1端子設定モードと第2端子設定モードを有し、
前記第1端子設定モードでは、前記インターフェース部は、前記第1色成分入力端子の前記表示データを受け付け、前記第2色成分入力端子、前記第3色成分入力端子の前記表示データを受け付けず、
前記第2端子設定モードでは、前記インターフェース部は、前記第1色成分入力端子、前記第2色成分入力端子、前記第3色成分入力端子の前記表示データを受け付け、
前記データ処理部は、
前記第1端子設定モードにおいて前記モノクロ表示モードに設定された場合、前記第1色成分入力端子に入力された前記表示データを、前記表示パネルのピクセルに対応した第1色成分チャンネルの第1出力データ、前記ピクセルと同一ピクセルに対応した第2色成分チャンネルの第2出力データ、及び前記同一ピクセルに対応した第3色成分チャンネルの第3出力データとして出力するデータ処理を行い、
前記第2端子設定モードにおいて前記モノクロ表示モードに設定された場合、前記第1色成分入力端子に入力された前記表示データを前記第1出力データとして出力し、前記第2色成分入力端子に入力された前記表示データを前記第2出力データとして出力し、前記第3色成分入力端子に入力された前記表示データを前記第3出力データとして出力するデータ処理を行い、
前記カラー表示モードに設定された場合、前記第1色成分入力端子に入力された前記表示データを前記第1出力データとして出力し、前記第2色成分入力端子に入力された前記表示データを前記第2出力データとして出力し、前記第3色成分入力端子に入力された前記表示データを前記第3出力データとして出力するデータ処理を行い、
前記駆動部は、
前記第1出力データ、前記第2出力データ、及び前記第3出力データに基づいて、前記表示パネルの駆動を行うことを特徴とする回路装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記駆動部は、
前記第1出力データに基づいて、前記同一ピクセルを構成する第1サブピクセルを駆動し、前記第2出力データに基づいて、前記同一ピクセルを構成する第2サブピクセルを駆動し、前記第3出力データに基づいて、前記同一ピクセルを構成する第3サブピクセルを駆動することを特徴とする回路装置。 - 請求項1又は2において、
前記モノクロ表示モード、前記カラー表示モードを設定するための端子又はモード設定部を有することを特徴とする回路装置。 - 請求項1乃至3のいずれかにおいて、
前記インターフェース部は、差動入力の前記表示データが入力されるインターフェース部であることを特徴とする回路装置。 - 請求項1乃至4のいずれかに記載された回路装置と、
前記表示パネルと、
を含むことを特徴とする電気光学装置。 - 請求項1乃至4のいずれかに記載された回路装置を含むことを特徴とする電子機器。
