Description
本発明のガラスにおいては、イオン伝導度が1.6×10−6S/cm以上が好ましい。1.9×10−6S/cm以上がより好ましく、2.5×10−6S/cm以上が特に好ましい。
本発明の固体電解質は、前記本発明のガラスを含むことを特徴とする。
<ガラス>
本発明の第一の実施形態は、カチオン%表記で、Li+を55%以上70%以下、P5+を20%以上35%以下、ならびに、Ta5+およびW6+から選ばれる少なくとも1種を0%超20%以下、含有するとともに、アニオン%表記で、O2−を75%以上100%未満、およびMX―を0%超25%以下含有することを特徴とするガラスである。ここで、MX−とは電気陰性度が3.44未満のアニオンを示す。
以下、本発明のガラスのカチオン成分およびアニオン成分について説明する。
本発明のガラスにおいて、Li+はTgを低下させる元素であり、さらに、電荷移動を担う元素であり、必須である。カチオン成分におけるLi+の含有量は55%以上70%以下である。Li+の含有量が55%以上であることで高いイオン伝導度が実現可能であり、70%以下とすることでガラスとしての安定性が保持される。Li+の含有量は、好ましくは56%以上67%以下、より好ましくは58%以上65%未満である。
本発明の第一の実施形態のガラスは、酸化物を主体とすることに特徴がある。酸化物は化学安定性が高く、安全性の高い電気化学デバイスに用いることができる。しかしながら前記に記載したように、酸化物系のガラスにおいて、酸素イオンはLi+イオンを大きく拘束することが考えられる。酸素イオンをLi+イオンの拘束が小さいアニオンに交換することにより、Li+イオンの伝導性を向上できることが考えられる。電気陰性度の観点から考察すると、酸素の電気陰性度以下であれば、Li+イオンの拘束力が小さくなる。本発明の第一の実施形態のガラスは、Li+イオンの伝導性を本発明に求められるレベルに向上させる観点から、電気陰性度が3.44未満のアニオンMX−を含有する。
本発明のガラスの製造方法は、特に限定されない。例えば、以下に示す方法で製造することができる。
積層セラミックスコンデンサもしくはキャパシタは、電極層間に誘電体層が配置された積層体から構成される。前記積層体を1単位として(以下「積層ユニット」ともいう)、これを1個有する構成であってもよく、2個以上の積層ユニットが積層された構成であってもよい。誘電体層を薄くして、電極層間の距離を小さくすること、また、積層ユニットを多く積層することで、小型でありながら大きな電気容量を得ることができる。
低温同時焼成セラミックス多層基板は、電極配線層が絶縁体層で隔離配置された立体配線を形成する積層体から構成される。前記積層体を1単位として(以下「積層ユニット」ともいう)、これを1個有する構成であってもよく、2個以上の積層ユニットが積層された構成であってもよい。絶縁体層を薄くして、電極配線層間の距離を小さくすること、また、積層ユニットを多く積層することで、小型でありながら複雑な配線基板を得ることができる。
本発明の固体電解質は、本発明のガラスを含有する。固体電解質は、必要に応じて、本発明の効果を損なわない範囲でガラス以外の成分を含んでいてもよい。含有可能なその他の成分としては、イオン伝導性結晶等が挙げられる。固体電解質における本発明のガラスの含有割合は、40〜100体積%が好ましく、より好ましくは70〜100体積%、さらに好ましくは100体積%である。
全固体リチウムイオン二次電池は、正極、負極、および前記正極と前記負極の間に配置された固体電解質層を有するリチウムイオン二次電池である。この固体電解質層に本発明の固体電解質は好適である。固体電解質層を挟んで正極および負極が配置された積層体を1単位として(以下「積層ユニット」という。)、これを1個有する構成であってもよく、2個以上の積層ユニットが積層された構成であってもよい。固体電解質層を薄くして、電極層間の距離を小さくすること、また、積層ユニットを多く積層することで、小型でありながら大きなエネルギー密度を得ることができる。
図3に、リチウムイオン二次電池の構成の一例として多層全固体型でありかつ直列型のリチウムイオン二次電池を概略的に示す。
表1、2に示す仕込み組成となるように、各原料粉末を秤量し混合した。原料には、Li2CO3、LiPO3、Ta2O5、Nb2O5、MgOおよびWO3ならびに、LiFおよびLiClを使用した。
次に、混合した原料を白金るつぼに入れ、1000℃で30分間加熱して原料を溶融させた後、溶融した原料をロールアウトマシンにより急冷し、フレーク(薄片)状のガラス(以下、ガラスフレークという。)を作製した。
ガラスフレークを乳鉢を用いて内径5mmのDTAセルに入る大きさの粒度に粉砕したガラス粉末をDTA測定に使用した。DTAの測定は、示差熱分析計(リガク社製、商品名:TG8110)を使用して行った。得られたDTA曲線から、TgおよびTcを求めた。
これらの結果を表1、2の下欄に示す。また、(Tc−Tg)の値も表1、2の下欄に示す。
得られたガラスフレーク両面に、蒸着法により金電極(直径6mm)を形成した。
