Description
本発明は、排ガス処理装置を構成する触媒支持機構のガスシール性を向上させることを目的とする。
触媒支持機構30を容器本体10の外部で形成する工程について説明する。まず、図12Aに示すように、第1グリッド31の載置領域31a上に、ダミー触媒80を載置する。ダミー触媒80は、第1グリッド31に対する第1シールプレート32、第1柱体33、第2シールプレート34及び第2柱体35の位置決めを行うものである。ダミー触媒80は、図2に示す触媒ユニット40と同じ形状であって、アタッチメント43を介して、複数の筒状ケース41がそれぞれ上下2段構成になっているが、筒状ケース41の内部に触媒が充填されていない点で触媒ユニット40と異なる。
次に、焼鈍済みであるが未だキャップ10aが取り付けられていない状態の容器本体10の内部に触媒支持機構30を組み込む工程について説明する。具体的には、図12Iに示すように、上端が開口した容器本体10の内側に設けられるリング21上に、触媒支持機構30を設置する。ここで、容器本体10は、その内側にリング21及びバタリングビード22、23が溶接された状態で、既に焼鈍が完了したものが用いられる。
その後、触媒支持機構30を容器本体10の中へ入れて、その第1グリッド31とリング21とを溶接するとともに、触媒支持機構30の第1シールプレート32及び第2シールプレート34と、バタリングビード22、23とをそれぞれ溶接する。触媒支持機構30、リング21及びバタリングビード22、23は、前述したように焼鈍不要な材料であるため、この溶接工程の後に焼鈍を行う必要はない。
そして、図12Jに示すように、キャップ10aを容器本体10に溶接する。キャップ10aとしては、予め焼鈍が完了したものが用いられる。そのため、キャップ10a全体を焼鈍する必要はない。一方で、キャップ10aと容器本体10との溶接個所については焼鈍する必要があるため、この溶接個所を局所的に部分焼鈍する。部分焼鈍の具体的な方法としては、例えば、溶接個所に電熱ヒータを巻いて局所的に加熱することが挙げられる。焼鈍の温度は、クロムモリブデン鋼の場合、500℃程度である。

Claims (3)
- 排ガスを処理するための触媒ユニットを支持する触媒支持機構を、排ガスが流れる容器本体の外部で形成する工程と、
内側に溶接部材が設けられた焼鈍済みの容器本体の内部に、前記触媒支持機構を組み込む工程と、
前記溶接部材と前記触媒支持機構とを溶接する工程と、
焼鈍済みのキャップと前記容器本体とを溶接し、さらに、このキャップと容器本体との溶接個所を部分焼鈍する工程と、を備える
ことを特徴とする排ガス処理装置の製造方法。 - 前記触媒支持機構は、
前記触媒ユニットを載置可能な載置領域が主面に設けられた第1グリッドと、
前記載置領域を除いた前記主面に、前記主面からはみ出すように溶接される少なくとも1つのシールプレートと、
前記シールプレート上に起立させた状態で溶接される複数の柱体と、を含み、
前記溶接部材と前記触媒支持機構とを溶接する工程において、前記第1グリッド及び前記シールプレートを前記溶接部材と溶接する
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の排ガス処理装置の製造方法。 - 前記触媒支持機構の形成を、前記触媒ユニット、又は前記触媒ユニットと同じ形状のダミー触媒を用いて位置合わせしながら行う
ことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の排ガス処理装置の製造方法。
