Abstract
Description
触媒コンバータ1は、排気系において上下流の配管と接続しており、その接続部は円筒の全周で嵌合若しくは突合せ溶接されている。ここで、触媒コンバータ1の排気流路方向正面視において、前記装着ボスの溶接される位置を0°としたとき、夫々の全周溶接の終始点は345°(−15°)から15°の位置に設けられる。これにより、全周溶接の終始点において、溶接熱影響部を収縮させることで、装着ボス溶接時に生じた膨張部4aの膨張を相殺し、ケーシングの浮き上がりによる面圧の低下を緩和することができる。

Claims (2)
- 筒状のケーシング内に第1の触媒担体と第2の触媒担体が配設され、
前記第1の触媒担体および前記第2の触媒担体と前記ケーシングとの間には、前記第1の触媒担体および前記第2の触媒担体の外周を囲むように保持部材が設けられ、
前記第1の触媒担体と前記第2の触媒担体との間には、前記ケーシングの外側面に溶接される装着ボスを介して空燃比センサが配設される触媒コンバータであって、
前記触媒コンバータの外径の大きさは、前記ケーシングの排気流路方向で略均一に形成され、
前記ケーシングと、前記ケーシングの排気流路方向の上流および下流に夫々配置される配管とは、全周溶接により夫々互いに固着され、
前記ケーシングの排気流路方向正面視での前記ケーシングの外周において、前記装着ボスの溶接される位置を0°とした時、前記全周溶接の夫々の終始点は345°から15°の位置に設けられる、触媒コンバータ。 - 前記保持部材は、その両端が対向する合口部が、前記ケーシングの排気流路方向正面視での前記ケーシングの外周において、前記装着ボスの溶接される位置を0°とした時、15°から105°若しくは255°から345°の位置に設けられる、請求項1に記載の触媒コンバータ。
