Claims (11)
- ナトリウムまたはナトリウム合金を含む負極と、
アルカリ金属ハロゲン化物、並びに、遷移金属および12〜14族金属からなる群から選択される一つ以上の金属のハロゲン化物を含有する金属ハロゲン化物と、前記金属ハロゲン化物を溶解する溶媒と、過量のNaX(naq)(con)を含み、固状の金属ハロゲン化物を含まず、ここでハロゲンイオンXが下記の反応式1又は反応式2のハロゲンイオンと同一であるか異なり、「(naq)」は溶媒に溶解された状態を意味し、「(con)」はNaXが反応式1及び反応式2における充放電反応において析出しないことを意味する正極と、
前記正極と負極を分離するナトリウム超イオン伝導体(NASICON)と、を含み、
前記溶媒は、非水系有機溶媒、イオン性液体またはこれらの混合液であり、
下記の反応式1により充電が行われ、下記の反応式2により放電が行われ、
電池の充電および放電の際に反応式1および反応式2のナトリウムハロゲン化物(NaX)と金属ハロゲン化物(MXm)が溶解される液状の正極を含む、ナトリウム二次電池。

(反応式1および反応式2中、Mは遷移金属および12〜14族金属からなる群から選択される一つ以上の金属であり、Xはハロゲン元素であり、mは1〜4の自然数である。) - 放電状態で、前記正極は、ナトリウムハロゲン化物を含有する液状成分と、
遷移金属および12〜14族金属からなる群から選択される一つ以上の金属を含有する固状成分と、を含む、請求項1に記載のナトリウム二次電池。 - 前記溶媒は、前記金属ハロゲン化物を全て溶解する、請求項1に記載のナトリウム二次電池。
- 充電状態で、前記正極は、完全に液状である、請求項1に記載のナトリウム二次電池。
- 前記正極に接して電流を集め、外部との電流移動経路を提供する正極集電体をさらに含む、請求項1に記載のナトリウム二次電池。
- 前記正極集電体は、グラファイト、グラフェン、チタン、銅、プラチナ、アルミニウム、ニッケル、銀、金およびカーボンナノチューブから選択される一つ以上の物質を含む、請求項5に記載のナトリウム二次電池。
- Mはニッケル(Ni)、鉄(Fe)、銅(Cu)、亜鉛(Zn)、カドミウム(Cd)、チタン(Ti)、アルミニウム(Al)およびスズ(Sn)から選択される一つ以上であり、Xはヨウ素(I)、臭素(Br)、塩素(Cl)およびフッ素(F)から選択される一つ以上であり、前記mは1〜4の自然数である、請求項1に記載のナトリウム二次電池。
- 前記正極は、0.5〜10モル濃度(M)の金属ハロゲン化物を含有する、請求項1に記載のナトリウム二次電池。
- 前記ナトリウム合金は、ナトリウム‐セシウム合金、ナトリウム‐ルビジウム合金またはこれらの混合物を含む、請求項1に記載のナトリウム二次電池。
- 前記ナトリウム二次電池の作動温度は、常温〜200℃である、請求項1に記載のナトリウム二次電池。
