Description
実施例1〜4のピストン13について、キャビティ30内における空気流動Zを、CAE解析により評価した。表1に示されるように、実施例1〜4は、切欠き部40の周方向壁部41の傾斜角度αのみ異なっており、その他は同一である。すなわち、各切欠き部40は、燃料噴射弁17の噴孔数NHは10であり、同様に切欠き部40の数NCも10であり、周方向における角度範囲βが14°で形成されている。参考実施例においては、切欠き部40は、第1凹部60のみで構成されており、第2凹部70は有していない。

Claims (1)
- シリンダと、
該シリンダの端面を覆うシリンダヘッドであって、燃焼室にスワール流を生成する吸気ポートが形成された、シリンダヘッドと、
前記シリンダヘッドとは反対側へ凹設されたキャビティを有するピストンと、
前記シリンダの中心軸方向に見て、前記シリンダの径方向の中心に位置するように前記シリンダヘッドに取り付けられており、上死点に位置する前記ピストンの前記キャビティ内を指向しており、燃料を放射状に噴射可能な複数の噴孔を有する、燃料噴射弁と
を備え、
前記キャビティは、開口部に位置しており前記キャビティの内部に比して縮径されたリップ部と、該リップ部から底部に向かう周辺部とを有し、該周辺部は、前記リップ部よりも拡径するように径方向外側へ凹設されており前記ピストンの中心軸を含む平面上の断面形状が前記キャビティの中心側に中心を有する円弧により構成されており、
前記ピストンは、前記キャビティの前記周辺部から冠面側にわたって放射状に凹設された複数の切欠き部を周方向に互いに間隔を空けて更に有しており、
該切欠き部は、
前記キャビティの前記周辺部から前記冠面にわたって設けられ、前記キャビティの前記周辺部よりも外径側へ凹設された第1凹部と、
前記第1凹部の前記冠面側の端部から外径側へ延びており、前記ピストンの冠面からピストン底面側へ一段下がるように凹設された、第2凹部と
を含んでおり、
前記第2凹部は、平面視で、スワール流の下流側の縦壁部が、スワール流の下流側に向かって内径側に延びる円弧状に形成されており、
前記燃料噴射弁は、前記複数の噴孔それぞれが、周方向に隣り合う前記切欠き部の間に位置する非切欠き部を指向するように配置されており、噴霧が、前記ピストンが圧縮上死点近傍に位置するとき、前記リップ部と前記周辺部との境界部近傍を指向するように構成されているディーゼルエンジン。
