Description

本開示に従って構成された対向するピストンは平坦な端面を有する。歪み形構造を有する楕円形の凹状ボウル(「凹部」または「キャビティ」とも呼ばれる)が各端面に形成される。ピストンは、シリンダボア内で回転方向において、ボウルが対向するように向けられている。ピストンが最も接近している圧縮行程の終わり近くで、対向するボウルは、大きな空気運動においてタンブル流構造を生成するためにスワールと相互作用する歪み形状を有する燃焼室を画定する。端面内の対向するノッチ対が、燃料が燃焼室に噴射される直径方向に対向する開口を形成する。端面の平坦な態様が、外向きに延伸する隆起部によって引き起こされるホットスポットを排除する。
各ピストンの平坦な端面は、周縁部のピストン側壁と接する。周縁部は、ピストンの長手方向軸を中心とし、ピストンの単一の長手方向レベルに配置された円形形状を有する。端面内に一対のノッチが形成されている。ノッチは、端面直径と整列して、周縁部上で対向して位置決めされる。端面内に形成された凹状のボウルは、ノッチの間の端面直径に沿って細長い楕円形状を有する。ボウルの両側面には、周縁部まで延伸する平坦な端面部分が位置している。ボウルは、対向する側壁と、垂直断面において側壁を滑らかに接続する湾曲した底部とを有し、ボウルの最大深さは、底部の、ピストンの長手方向軸と端面直径とを含む平面からオフセットされた、すなわちその片側に位置決めされている点から測定される。
Claims (5)
- 対向するピストンの平坦な端面に形成される細長いボウルを有する燃焼室を画定するために、細長い凹状のボウル(120)が形成されている平坦な端面(108)を備える対向ピストンエンジン用のピストン(100)であって、
前記平坦な端面(108)は、前記ピストン(100)の長手方向軸(112)を中心とする円形形状を有する周縁部(110)のピストン側壁に接し、前記ピストンの長手方向レベルに配置され、
一対のノッチ(118)が、前記端面内に形成され、端面直径(122)と整列するように、前記周縁部上で対向して配置され、
前記凹状のボウルは、前記ノッチの間で、前記端面直径に沿って細長い楕円形状を有し、前記凹状のボウルの両脇には、前記周縁部まで延伸する平坦な端面部分(108aおよび108b)が位置し、
前記凹状のボウルは、対向する側壁(123および124)と、前記側壁を垂直断面において滑らかに連結する湾曲底部(125)とを有し、
前記凹状のボウルは、前記湾曲底部と、前記長手方向軸に直交するとともに前記平坦な端面と同じ前記長手方向レベルに配置された平面PESとの間に最大深さDmaxを有し、前記最大深さDmaxは、前記ピストンの前記長手方向軸および前記端面直径を含むとともに前記平面PESと直交する長手方向平面PLから、直交方向にオフセットされた、前記湾曲底部の点で測定されることを特徴とする、ピストン。 - ボアと、シリンダのそれぞれの端部近くのピストン制御式排気ポートおよび吸気ポートとを有する少なくとも1つのシリンダ、ならびに、前記ボア内に対向して配置される一対のピストンを含む2行程サイクル圧縮点火式対向ピストンエンジンであって、各ピストンは、請求項1に従って構築され、
前記ピストンが前記ボア内で上死点位置付近にあるとき、前記ピストンの前記平坦な端面の間に形成される細長いボウルを有する燃焼室を特徴とし、
2つの燃料噴射器が、直径方向に対向して、前記燃焼室の中心線に整列して配置され、
前記燃焼室の長手方向に直交する第1の断面視において、前記燃焼室は、前記燃焼室中心線に関して対称な回転方向に歪んだ形状を有し、
前記燃焼室の長手方向に直交する第1の断面視に直交する前記燃焼室の長手方向に沿った第2の断面視において、前記燃焼室は、前記燃料噴射器に向かって前記燃焼室中心線に沿って先細になる対向する端部分を備える細長い形状を有する、対向ピストンエンジン。 - 各燃料噴射器が、3つまたは4つのプルームを有する燃料噴霧を放出するように構成されている、請求項2に記載の対向ピストンエンジン。
- 前記ピストンの端面間で前記シリンダ内に旋回する充填空気を導入する工程と、
圧縮行程において前記ピストンを互いに向けて運動させる工程と、
前記ピストンの端面間に燃焼室を形成する工程であって、
前記燃焼室は、前記燃焼室中心線に関して対称な、前記燃焼室の長手方向に直交する第1の断面視における回転方向に歪んだ形状、および、
前記燃焼室中心線に沿って前記燃料噴射器に向かって先細になる対向する端部分を有する、前記燃焼室の長手方向に直交する第1の断面視に直交する前記燃焼室の長手方向に沿った第2の断面視における細長い形状を有する、形成する工程と、
対向する燃料噴霧を、前記対向する開口を介して前記燃焼室内の旋回する充填空気内に噴射する工程とによる、請求項2に記載の2行程サイクル圧縮点火装置を動作させる方法。 - 各スプレーパターンが3つのプルームまたは4つのプルームを有する、請求項4に記載の方法。
