Claims (5)
- 複列の転がり軸受と等速自在継手が着脱自在にユニット化された車輪用軸受装置であって、
前記複列の転がり軸受が、外周に車体に取り付けられるための車体取付フランジを一体に有し、内周に複列の外側転走面が一体に形成された外方部材と、
一端部に車輪を取り付けるための車輪取付フランジを一体に有し、外周に軸方向に延びる小径段部が形成されたハブ輪、およびこのハブ輪の小径段部に圧入される少なくとも一つの内輪からなり、外周に前記複列の外側転走面に対向する複列の内側転走面が形成された内方部材と、
この内方部材と前記外方部材の両転走面間に転動自在に収容された複列の転動体とを備え、
前記小径段部の端部を径方向外方に塑性変形させて形成した加締部によって前記内輪が軸方向に固定されると共に、
前記等速自在継手が、カップ状のマウス部と、このマウス部の底部をなす肩部と、この肩部から軸方向に延び、内周に雌ねじが形成された軸部とを一体に有する外側継手部材を備え、
この外側継手部材の肩部と前記加締部の端面にそれぞれフェイススプラインが形成され、前記複列の転がり軸受と等速自在継手とがトルク伝達可能に結合された車輪用軸受装置において、
前記加締部のフェイススプラインが、当該加締部と同時に加締治具によって塑性加工によって形成され、前記フェイススプラインにおける外郭でインナー側に最も突出した歯頂点を通るピッチ円直径上より径方向外方の歯溝の歯高さ(H0)が、前記ピッチ円直径より径方向内方において、前記歯頂点を通り歯底と平行な線から当該歯底までの距離(H)よりも低く設定されている部位を有し、当該フェイススプラインの歯溝の最外径部に歯底から径方向外方に向って前記歯溝の歯高さが漸次低くなる胸壁が形成され、この胸壁が前記小径段部の外径から前記加締部の最外径部までの加締め高さの半分よりも径方向外側に位置し、前記フェイススプラインが締結ボルトにより圧接支持されていることを特徴とする車輪用軸受装置。 - 前記胸壁が、前記歯底から径方向外方に向って所定の傾斜角を有し、この傾斜角が10〜40°の範囲に設定されている請求項1に記載の車輪用軸受装置。
- 前記フェイススプラインの歯溝の最外径部に、前記歯底から径方向外方に向って所定の曲率半径からなる円弧状の胸壁が形成されている請求項1に記載の車輪用軸受装置。
- 前記胸壁の曲率半径Rが2mm≦R≦10mmに設定されている請求項3に記載の車輪用軸受装置。
- 前記内方部材が、外周に前記複列の外側転走面の一方に対向する内側転走面と、この内側転走面から軸方向に延びる小径段部が形成されたハブ輪、およびこのハブ輪の小径段部に圧入され、外周に前記複列の外側転走面の他方に対向する内側転走面が形成された内輪からなると共に、前記ハブ輪が炭素0.40〜0.80wt%を含む中高炭素鋼からなり、前記内側転走面をはじめ、前記車輪取付フランジのインナー側の基部から前記小径段部に亙る外周面に高周波焼入れによって表面硬さを58〜64HRCの範囲に硬化処理され、前記加締部が鍛造加工後の未焼入れ部とされている請求項1に記載の車輪用軸受装置。
