Description
本実施形態で用いるリタデーション上昇剤は、下記一般式(1)で表される含窒素複素環化合物であることが好ましい。
前記一般式(1)において、A1、A2及びBは、それぞれ独立に、アルキル基(メチル基、エチル基、n−プロピル基、イソプロピル基、tert−ブチル基、n−オクチル基、2−エチヘキシル基等)、シクロアルキル基(シクロヘキシル基、シクロペンチル基、4−n−ドデシルシクロヘキシル基等)、芳香族炭化水素環又は芳香族複素環を表す。この中で、芳香族炭化水素環又は芳香族複素環が好ましく、特に、5員若しくは6員の芳香族炭化水素環又は芳香族複素環であることが好ましい。
式中、※は、一般式(1)におけるL1、L2、L3又はL4との結合位置を表す。R5は、水素原子又は非芳香族置換基を表す。R5で表される非芳香族置換基としては、前記一般式(1)におけるA1が有してもよい置換基のうちの非芳香族置換基と同様の基を挙げることができる。R5で表される置換基が芳香族基を有する置換基の場合、A1とT1又はBとT1がねじれやすくなり、A1、B及びT1が樹脂Aであるセルロースアセテートや樹脂Bであるセルロースエステルとの相互作用を形成できなくなるため、光学的特性の変動を抑制することが難しい。光学的特性の変動抑制効果を高めるためには、R5は、水素原子、炭素数1〜5のアルキル基又は炭素数1〜5のアシル基であることが好ましく、水素原子であることが特に好ましい。
一般式(1)で表される化合物は、一般式(2)で表される化合物であることが好ましい。
(式中、A1、A2、T1、T2、L1、L2、L3及びL4は、それぞれ前記一般式(1)におけるA1、A2、T1、T2、L1、L2、L3及びL4と同義である。A3及びT3は、それぞれ一般式(1)におけるA1及びT1と同様の基を表す。L5及びL6は、前記一般式(1)におけるL1と同様の基を表す。mは0〜4の整数を表す。)
mが小さい方がセルロースアセテートとの相溶性に優れるため、mは0〜2の整数であることが好ましく、0〜1の整数であることがより好ましい。
一般式(1)で表される化合物は、下記一般式(1.1)で表されるトリアゾール化合物であることが好ましい。
(式中、A1、B、L1及びL2は、上記一般式(1)におけるA1、B、L1及びL2と同様の基を表す。kは、1〜4の整数を表す。T1は、1,2,4−トリアゾール環を表す。)
さらに、上記一般式(1.1)で表されるトリアゾール化合物は、下記一般式(1.2)で表されるトリアゾール化合物であることが好ましい。
(式中、R10は、水素原子、アルキル基又はアルコキシ基を表す。pは、1〜5の整数を表す。*はベンゼン環との結合位置を表す。T1は、1,2,4−トリアゾール環を表す。)
前記一般式(1)、(2)、(1.1)又は(1.2)で表される化合物は、水和物、溶媒和物若しくは塩を形成してもよい。なお、ここでの水和物は、有機溶媒を含んでいてもよく、また溶媒和物は水を含んでいてもよい。すなわち、「水和物」及び「溶媒和物」には、水と有機溶媒のいずれも含む混合溶媒和物が含まれる。塩としては、無機又は有機酸で形成された酸付加塩が含まれる。無機酸の例として、ハロゲン化水素酸(塩酸、臭化水素酸など)、硫酸、リン酸などが含まれ、また、これらに限定されない。また、有機酸の例には、酢酸、トリフルオロ酢酸、プロピオン酸、酪酸、シュウ酸、クエン酸、安息香酸、アルキルスルホン酸(メタンスルホン酸等)、アリルスルホン酸(ベンゼンスルホン酸、4−トルエンスルホン酸、1,5−ナフタレンジスルホン酸等)等が挙げられ、また、これらに限定されない。これらのうち好ましくは、塩酸塩、酢酸塩、プロピオン酸塩、酪酸塩である。
(式中Aはピラゾール環を表す。Ar1及びAr2は、それぞれ芳香族炭化水素環又は芳香族複素環を表し、置換基を有してもよい。R1は、水素原子、アルキル基、アシル基、スルホニル基、アルキルオキシカルボニル基、又はアリールオキシカルボニル基を表す。qは、1又は2を表す。n及びmは、1〜3の整数を表す。)
Ar1及びAr2で表される芳香族炭化水素環又は芳香族複素環は、それぞれ一般式(1)で挙げた5員若しくは6員の芳香族炭化水素環又は芳香族複素環であることが好ましい。また、Ar1及びAr2の置換基としては、前記一般式(1)で表される化合物で示したのと同様な置換基が挙げられる。
実施例1は、結晶成長抑制剤として、オイル系添加剤である環状ジメチルシリコーンオイル(融点:−40℃、沸点:175℃)を用い、位相差上昇剤として、前述の例示化合物1(3,5−ジフェニル−1,2,4−トリアゾール、数平均分子量300、融点200℃)を用いて、光学フィルムを製造した。その際、回収工程での冷却温度を30℃とした。
ドープに添加する二酸化ケイ素分散液の調製について説明する。
(ドープの調製)
次に、ドープの調製について説明する。
図1に示すような、溶液流延製膜法による樹脂フィルムの製造装置を用いて、光学フィルムを、ロール状に巻き取った光学フィルムロールを製造した。まず、ステンレス鋼製の無端ベルト支持体に流延ダイ(コートハンガーダイ)から、上記ドープを流延した。そして、無端ベルト支持体に流延されたウェブの残留溶媒量が100質量になるまで、ウェブを乾燥(ウェブ中の溶媒を蒸発)させた後、ウェブを無端ベルト支持体からフィルムとして剥離した。
実施例2は、結晶成長抑制剤として、イオン液体系添加剤であるイミダゾリウム塩(1−メチルイミダゾール、融点:−60℃、沸点:198℃)を用いたこと以外、実施例1と同様にして、光学フィルムを製造した。
比較例は、結晶成長抑制剤を用いないこと、すなわち、光学フィルムを製造するために用いる樹脂溶液に結晶成長抑制剤を含有させないこと以外、実施例1と同様にして、光学フィルムを製造した。
(フィルムへの位相差上昇剤の付着)
製造された各フィルムの表面を目視で観察し、目視で確認できる大きさの位相差上昇剤の付着の有無を確認した。位相差上昇剤の付着が確認できなければ、「○」と評価し、確認できれば、「×」と評価した。

Claims (6)
- 透明性樹脂と数平均分子量50〜1000の固体状の位相差上昇剤とを含む樹脂溶液を用いて、フィルムを作製する第1工程と、
前記フィルムに所定の処理を施して、光学フィルムを作製する第2工程と、
前記第2工程中に前記フィルムから揮発した位相差上昇剤を回収する回収工程とを備え、
前記回収工程は、前記フィルムから揮発した気体を冷却することにより、前記フィルムから揮発した前記位相差上昇剤を固化させて、回収する工程であり、
前記回収工程における冷却温度で液体であり、前記回収工程で前記位相差上昇剤を固化させる際に前記位相差上昇剤の結晶成長を抑制する結晶成長抑制剤を、前記樹脂溶液に含有し、
前記位相差上昇剤が、含窒素複素環化合物であり、
前記結晶成長抑制剤が、オイル系添加剤又はイオン液体系添加剤であることを特徴とする光学フィルムの製造方法。 - 前記結晶成長抑制剤は、融点が10℃以下であり、沸点が80℃以上であり、
前記冷却温度が、10〜80℃である請求項1に記載の光学フィルムの製造方法。 - 前記樹脂溶液は、少なくとも2種以上の溶媒を含み、
前記冷却温度が、前記2種以上の溶媒のうち、最も沸点が低い低沸点溶媒の沸点以上であって、前記2種以上の溶媒のうち、最も沸点が高い高沸点溶媒の沸点以下である請求項1又は請求項2に記載の光学フィルムの製造方法。 - 前記結晶成長抑制剤として、揮発した前記位相差上昇剤が固化する固化温度より40℃低い温度以上であって、前記固化温度以下で、揮発した前記結晶成長抑制剤が液化するものを用いる請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の光学フィルムの製造方法。
- 前記第1工程が、走行する支持体上に前記樹脂溶液を流延して流延膜を形成する流延工程と、
前記流延膜を前記フィルムとして前記支持体から剥離する剥離工程とを備える請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の光学フィルムの製造方法。 - 前記処理が、延伸処理である請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の光学フィルムの製造方法。
