Abstract
Description
図1を参照すると、シリンダブロック10の上部に、半球状内壁面11を有するシリンダヘッド12が設けられ、シリンダブロック10内に昇降自在に設けられたピストン13の上面14と半球状内壁面11との間に燃焼室15が形成される。ピストン13は、上面14がシリンダヘッド12の平面部16、すなわち半球状内壁面11の下縁の近傍まで上昇する。図1において、ピストン上死点を符号Aにより示す。
図9は従来のエンジンブレーキの動作を示している。すなわち吸気弁と排気弁はポペット型バルブである。また燃料インジェクター22と点火プラグ20は休止している。排気行程では排気弁が開放し、排気弁の周囲を流れる気流の流路抵抗によるポンプ損失がエンジンブレーキとして作用する。吸気行程では吸気弁が開放し、排気行程と同様に、流路抵抗によるポンプ損失がエンジンブレーキとして作用する。圧縮行程と燃焼行程では、排気弁と吸気弁はそれぞれ閉塞している。したがって圧縮行程におけるピストンの上昇運動による気筒内の圧力上昇と、燃焼行程におけるピストンの下降運動による気筒内の圧力低下とが相殺し、エンジンブレーキは実質的に作用しない。
図11は通常走行の動作を示している。排気行程では排気弁41が開放し、吸気行程では吸気弁31が開放する。圧縮行程では、燃料インジェクター22から燃料が噴射されて燃焼室15内に混合気が生成され、その後、点火プラグ20によって点火し、燃焼する。この動作は通常のエンジンにおける作用と同じである。

Claims (5)
- 燃焼室に連通する吸気ポートおよび/または排気ポートに設けられ、前記ポートの中心軸から放射状に延びる複数の固定スリットが形成された板状部を有するハウジングと、
前記板状部に隣接して設けられ、前記中心軸の周りに回転可能であり、前記中心軸から放射状に延びる複数の可動スリットが形成された弁体と、
前記弁体を前記中心軸の周りに回転変位させて前記固定スリットと可動スリットの相対位置関係を変化させる駆動機構とを備え、
前記駆動機構が、前記ハウジングに対して前記中心軸の周りに回転可能に取付けられ、前記中心軸の周りに分散して配置された永久磁石が設けられた環状部材と、前記ハウジングの外側に設けられ、前記永久磁石に対応した位置に配置された電磁石とを備え、
前記電磁石は、鉄心の第1および第2の端部が前記環状部材に近接するように配置され、前記永久磁石は、N極またはS極が前記第1および第2の端部に近接するように配置され、前記第1の端部が永久磁石に対向している状態において、前記第2の端部が永久磁石からずれた位置にあることを特徴とする内燃機関の吸排気弁。 - 前記弁体および前記板状部の一方が前記燃焼室を形成する内壁面の一部を構成することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の吸排気弁。
- 請求項1に記載された吸排気弁を開閉することによる内燃機関の運転制御方法であって、排気行程および/または吸気行程において、吸排気弁の少なくとも1つを閉塞することを特徴とする内燃機関の運転制御方法。
- 前記吸排気弁が排気行程および/または吸気行程の途中において開放することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の運転制御方法。
- 請求項1に記載された吸排気弁を開閉することによる内燃機関の運転制御方法であって、圧縮行程の最初において排気弁を開放することを特徴とする内燃機関の運転制御方法。
