Description
上記の観点から、使用者が回転可能ダイヤル108を回して、薬物カートリッジから投薬されるべき用量を選択することが理解されよう。これにより、符号付き部材406は、ハウジング102に対して軸方向(長手方向)に回転および並進運動する。符号付き部材406の外面440上に提供される情報を解析することによって、ダイヤル108の回転範囲、したがってダイヤル設定された用量を決定することができる。さらに、使用者は、用量送達ボタン416を押して、薬物カートリッジ内から用量を投薬する。用量送達ボタン416を押すことで、符号付き部材406が回転し、軸方向に反対へ動く。したがって、符号付き部材406の外面440上に提供される情報を解析することによって、符号付き部材406がハウジング内でどれだけ遠くへ並進運動したか、したがって投薬された用量を決定することもできる。
図12は、本発明の第2の想定される実施形態による符号付き部材406を示す。この符号付き部材406は、本実施形態では電力線306がわずかに太く、すなわち軸方向により大きい寸法を有するという点で、図7に示す実施形態とは異なる。具体的には、図12に示す電力線306は、追加の第8の電気接点212hを収容するのに十分な太さである。
図14aおよび図14bは、本発明の第3の実施形態による符号付き部材406の前面図および背面図を示す。この符号付き部材406は、外面440上で螺旋トラック300近傍に追加のトラック308が設けられ、エンコーダを形成するという点で、図7に示す実施形態とは異なる。したがって、以下、螺旋トラック300を第1の螺旋トラック300と呼び、追加のトラック308を第2の螺旋トラック308と呼ぶ。
図18aおよび図18bは、本発明の第4の実施形態による符号付き部材406の前面図および背面図を示す。この符号付き部材406は、やはり螺旋トラック300を備え、トラック300がエンコーダを形成し、比較的太い電力線306を有するという点で、図12に図示しおよびこれを参照しながら説明した実施形態に類似している。しかし、本実施形態では、符号付き部材406はまた、図14aおよび図14bに示すものに類似の追加の螺旋トラック308を備える。
上記の実施形態では、i)螺旋トラック300およびii)7つの接点212a〜212gによって画成される7ビット符号化システムは、符号付き部材406の絶対回転位置を決定することを有効にする(それによって、ダイヤル設定/投薬された用量を決定することを有効にする)ものであることが理解されよう。これに照らして、7ビット符号化システムは必ずしも導電部材のみに排他的に制限されるとは限らないことがさらに想定される。
図20を参照すると、薬物送達デバイス100の第6の実施形態は、デバイスが符号付き部材406の少なくとも一部の周りに位置するモードシフトスリーブ444も有するという点で、前述の第5の実施形態とは異なる。
Claims (14)
- 薬物送達デバイスであって:
ハウジングと;
複数のセンサと;
該ハウジング内に支持され、かつハウジングおよび複数の個別の位置の間の螺旋経路に沿った複数のセンサに対し、回転されるように構成された円筒形部材と
を含み;
ここで:
円筒形部材の外面は、単一の螺旋トラックを備え、該螺旋トラックは、エンコーダを形成し、螺旋トラックの長さに沿って配置された、それぞれセンサ内で第1の応答および第2の応答を誘起することが可能な複数の第1のトラック区分および複数の第2のトラック区分を有し;
円筒形部材の前記個別の位置の各々において、各センサは、センサ内で、ある一つの前記第1のトラック区分または第2のトラック区分ごとにそれぞれ前記第1の応答または第2の応答を誘起することができ;、そして、
円筒形部材の各前記個別の位置の各々において、第1の応答及び第2の応答の一意の組み合わせを複数のセンサにわたって誘起することが可能であり、それによってハウジングに対する円筒形部材の回転位置を決定することを有効にする:
前記薬物送達デバイス。 - それぞれの前記センサ内で第1の前記応答が誘起されたか、それとも第2の前記応答が誘起されたかに対応するセンサの各々から出力される信号を解析することによって、ハウジングに対する円筒形部材の位置を決定するように構成されたプロセッサをさらに含む、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- センサは各々、電気接点を含み、第1のトラック区分および第2のトラック区分はそれぞれ、より低い電気抵抗値およびより高い電気抵抗値を有し、第1のトラック区分は、互いに電気的に連結される、請求項2に記載のデバイス。
- プロセッサは、電気接点の1つに電気信号が印加されるようにし、同時に、他の電気接点のいずれかが通電されるかどうかを検出し、それによってハウジングに対する円筒形部材の位置を決定することを有効にするように構成される、請求項3に記載のデバイス。
- プロセッサは、追加の電気接点を介して第1のトラック区分の各々に電気信号が印加されるようにし、同時に、他の電気接点のいずれかが通電されるかどうかを検出し、それによってハウジングに対する円筒形部材の位置を決定することを有効にするように構成される、請求項3に記載のデバイス。
- 追加の電気接点は、螺旋トラックのうち第1のトラック区分を互いに電気的に連結する区間に係合する、請求項5に記載のデバイス。
- 螺旋トラック近傍に位置する、前記エンコーダを形成する追加の螺旋トラックをさらに含み、前記追加の螺旋トラックは、導電性を有し、さらなる電気接点に係合しており、プロセッサは、該さらなる電気接点からの信号を解析して前記デバイスの動作モードを決定するように構成される、請求項3〜6のいずれか1項に記載のデバイス。
- 前記デバイスの一方の動作モードで2つの螺旋トラックを電気的に連結し、前記デバイスの他方の動作モードで2つの螺旋トラックを電気的にデカップリングするように構成されたスイッチをさらに含む、請求項7に記載のデバイス。
- 使用者によって作動されると薬物送達デバイスから薬物を放出させるように構成された送達ボタンをさらに含み、ここで、該送達ボタンを押し下げることで、スイッチの状態を変化させる、請求項8に記載のデバイス。
- センサは各々、光センサを含み、第1のトラック区分および第2のトラック区分はそれぞれ、前記螺旋トラックのうち異なる色の部分を含む、請求項1または2に記載のデバイス。
- プロセッサは、前記光センサのうちのどれが第1のトラック区分の方へ誘導され、前記光センサのうちのどれが第2のトラック区分の方へ誘導されるかを決定し、それによってハウジングに対する円筒形部材の位置を決定することを有効にするように構成される、請求項2に従属するときの請求項10に記載のデバイス。
- 前記円筒形部材の少なくとも一部を取り囲み、デバイスの一方の動作モードで光センサに対して回転するが、デバイスの他方の動作モードでは回転しないスリーブと、デバイスの動作モードを決定するために該スリーブ上に設けられた不透明なマーキングの回転位置を監視する際に使用するための追加の光センサとをさらに含む、請求項10または11に記載のデバイス。
- プロセッサは、メモリ内に記憶されたルックアップテーブルを検索することによって、選択された薬物用量を決定するように構成され、ルックアップテーブルは、ハウジングに対する円筒形部材の位置と選択された薬物用量との間の変換を提供する、請求項2〜12のいずれか1項に記載のデバイス。
- プロセッサは、選択された薬物用量から残りの薬物用量を引くことによって、送達された薬物用量を決定するように構成される、請求項13に記載のデバイス。
