Description
本発明のカラー反射型ディスプレイは、モノクロ反射型ディスプレイとカラーフィルタの組み合わせまたは、従来のモノクロ反射型ディスプレイの作製工程にインクジェット法によるカラー印刷工程を追加したものである。
インク受容層材料を塗布後、熱、真空、UV照射等の方法により固化させる事でインク受容層を形成する。
実施例1として、マトリクス状にカラーフィルタが印刷された、反射型ディスプレイの作製方法について述べる。
反射型ディスプレイ及び受容層に関して実施例1と同様のものを用いた。インク組成としては、Redインクとして分散樹脂20(重量%)、顔料2(重量%)、溶媒ジエチレングリコールモノエチルエーテルアセテート18(重量%)、ベンジルアルコール50(重量%)、ブチルジグリコールアセテート10(重量%)とした。インク保持層にインクジェット装置にて格子状のパターンに印刷を行なった。印刷パターンとしては160μm角の画素サイズに入るよう、3×3液滴塗布を行なった。1つの液滴量は約15plで、液滴と液滴との間隔を40μmとなるように印刷した。このインクで形成した画素には画素内に白抜けと呼ばれる液滴と液滴との間に隙間が発生した。すなわち、インク組成におけるベンジルアルコールの割合が高すぎると、色が均一な画素が形成できず、効率のよいカラーフィルタ層は形成出来なかった。

Claims (7)
- 反射型ディスプレイの片面に形成されたウレタン系樹脂のインク受容層に印刷する為のピエゾ駆動式のインクジェット用インクであって、
前記インクが、分散樹脂と、着色用顔料を0.5重量%〜10重量%と、前記インク受容層をより溶かしにくい溶媒を30重量%〜75重量%と、前記インク受容層をより溶かしやすいアルコール系溶媒を3重量%〜30重量%とを含み、
前記分散樹脂が、カゼイン、ゼラチン、ポリビニールアルコール、カルボキシメチルアセタール、ポリイミド樹脂、アクリル樹脂、エポキシ樹脂、メラニン樹脂のいずれかであり、
前記着色用顔料が、Pigment Red9、19、38、43、97、122、123、144、149、166、168、177、179、180、192、215、216、208、216、217、220、223、224、226、227、228、240、Pigment Blue15、15:6、16、22、29、60、64、Pigment Green7、36、Pigment Red20、24、86、81、83、93、108、109、110、117、125、137、138、139、147、148、153、154、166、168、185、Pigment Orange36、Pigment Violet23のうちの少なくとも1種類であり、
前記インク受容層をより溶かしにくい溶媒が、ジエチレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノエチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノブチルエーテルから選ばれるカルビトール系溶媒、あるいはこれらセロソルブ類、カルビトール類のアセテート化合物であり、
前記インク受容層をより溶かしやすいアルコール系溶媒が、ベンジルアルコールである事を特徴とするインクジェット用インク。 - フッ素系界面活性剤を0.01重量%〜3.00重量%含む事を特徴とする請求項1に記載のインクジェット用インク。
- 請求項1または2に記載のインクジェット用インクを用いて構成されたカラーフィルタ。
- 請求項3に記載のカラーフィルタを備えているカラー反射型ディスプレイ。
- 請求項1または2に記載のインクジェット用インクを用いて、前記反射型ディスプレイの前記インク受容層が設けられた面に対してインクジェット吐出を行うことによりカラーフィルタを形成する、カラーフィルタの製造方法。
- 前記インクジェット吐出において、インク液滴着弾部を連続して塗出することにより長穴状のパターンを作製し、前記長穴状のパターンを並べることにより画素着色部を形成する、請求項5に記載のカラーフィルタの製造方法。
- 請求項1または2に記載のインクジェット用インクを用いて、前記反射型ディスプレイの前記インク受容層が設けられた面に対してインクジェット吐出を行うことによりカラーフィルタを形成することによりカラー反射型ディスプレイを製造する、カラー反射型ディスプレイの製造方法。
