- 内燃機関の排気通路に空燃比リッチ制御により触媒の浄化能力を回復する触媒装置と、前記空燃比リッチ制御を行う制御装置を備えた排気ガス浄化システムにおいて、
前記制御装置が、
触媒温度が予め設定した下限触媒温度以下では前記空燃比リッチ制御を禁止すると共に、
NOx吸蔵量の推定値が予め設定されたリッチ開始閾値に達した第1タイミングと、リッチ間隔時間マップで設定された設定間隔時間に基づく第2タイミングとの両方を満たした場合に前記空燃比リッチ制御を開始し、

前記空燃比リッチ制御の開始後のリッチ状態を続ける継続時間が、NOx還元量の推定値がリッチ終了閾値に達した第3タイミングと、リッチ継続時間マップで規定されている設定継続時間を経過した第4タイミングとの両方を満たした場合に前記空燃比リッチ制御を終了すると共に、
触媒温度に対応して設定された継続時間補正係数を前記設定継続時間に乗じて前記第4タイミングを補正するように構成されたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の排気ガス浄化システム。 - 前記制御装置が、
前記リッチ間隔補正係数を、触媒温度が高いほど大きく前記吸蔵比が小さいほど大きく設定し、前記継続時間補正係数を、触媒温度が低いほど小さく設定するように構成されたことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の排気ガス浄化システム。 - 内燃機関の排気通路に備えた触媒装置の触媒の浄化能力を空燃比リッチ制御により回復する排気ガス浄化方法において、
触媒温度が予め設定した下限触媒温度以下では前記空燃比リッチ制御を禁止すると共に、
NOx吸蔵量の推定値が予め設定されたリッチ開始閾値に達した第1タイミングと、リッチ間隔時間マップで設定された設定間隔時間に基づく第2タイミングとの両方を満たした場合に前記空燃比リッチ制御を開始し、
前記触媒装置の触媒温度と、前記空燃比リッチ制御開始以前のNOx吸蔵量の推定値のリッチ開始閾値に対する吸蔵比とをベースにリッチ間隔補正係数を予め設定し、該リッチ間隔補正係数を前記設定間隔時間に乗じて前記第2タイミングを補正することを特徴とする排気ガス浄化方法。 - 前記空燃比リッチ制御の開始後のリッチ状態を続ける継続時間が、NOx還元量の推定値がリッチ終了閾値に達した第3タイミングと、リッチ継続時間マップで規定されている設定継続時間を経過した第4タイミングとの両方を満たした場合に前記空燃比リッチ制御を終了すると共に、触媒温度に対応して設定された継続時間補正係数を前記設定継続時間に乗じて前記第4タイミングを補正することを特徴とする請求項4に記載の排気ガス浄化方法。
- 前記リッチ間隔補正係数を、触媒温度が高いほど小さく、前記吸蔵比が小さいほど大きく設定し、前記継続時間補正係数を、触媒温度が低いほど小さく設定することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の排気ガス浄化方法。
