Description
母ガラスとしては、当分野で通常用いられる成分および量で構成されたものを、特に制限なく用いることができる。好ましい実施形態において、母ガラスとして、下記表1に示す成分および量(母ガラス成分組成を100重量%とする)を含むものを用いることができる。
鉄(Fe)は、ガラスの主/副原料に不純物として含まれていてもよく、通常の商業生産においては、追加的な投入無しで0.1〜0.2重量%でガラス内に存在し得る成分である。ほとんどの着色ガラスは、所望の透過率と色相に調節するために、鉄が追加投入される。投入される原料としては、酸化鉄(Fe2O3)が用いられる。ガラスの溶融過程で投入された酸化鉄は、Fe3+およびFe2+として存在していてもよい。Fe3+イオンは、410〜440nmの可視光線領域で弱い吸収を示し、380nmを中心とする紫外線領域で強い吸収を示す。このような特性により、Fe3+が多量に存在するほど、ガラスは淡黄色を示すようになる。その一方で、Fe2+イオンは、1050nmを中心に強い吸収バンドを示すので、赤外線を吸収することが知られている。Fe2+含量が多いほど、ガラスの色相は青色に変わる。全Fe2O3中のFe2+とFe3+の割合は、ガラスの製造工程によって変動する。
コバルト(Co)は、酸化コバルトの形態で、バッチ式で供給される。Co2+の形態で存在すると、530、590、および645nm付近に吸収端を示す。このような吸収端の影響により、コバルトはガラスを濃い青色にする。
セレン(Se)は、ガラス内における酸化/還元状態によって異なる着色挙動を示す。Se元素として存在する場合と、Fe−Seの結合体を形成する場合は、480〜500nmに吸収端を示す。このような場合は、ガラスが、赤褐色に着色されることが知られている。
クロム(Cr)は、酸化クロムの形態で、バッチ式で供給される。Cr3+の形態で存在する場合は、450および650nm付近に吸収端を示す。このような吸収の影響により、クロムは、緑色に着色されたガラス組成物を形成し、可視光線透過率(LTA)を低くし、視線遮断性の機能を満たす。緑色は、見る人の眼精疲労感を軽減し、見る人に心理的な安定感を与え、周辺の色相と容易に調和する効果がある。
上述したように、着色成分であるCoO、Se、およびCr2O3の含量に関連して、本発明のガラス組成物における、Seに対する(CoO+Cr2O3)の重量比(=[CoO+Cr2O3]/Se)は、13〜25の範囲であり、より好ましくは13〜20の範囲、更により好ましくは13〜17の範囲である。
また、上述したように、着色成分であるCoO、およびCr2O3含量と関連して、本発明のガラス組成物における、Cr2O3に対するCoOの重量比(=CoO/Cr2O3)は、0.9〜1.8の範囲であり、より好ましくは1〜1.8の範囲、更により好ましくは1〜1.6の範囲である。
上記で説明したような着色成分に加えて、本発明のガラス組成物は、本発明の目的を達成できる範囲内で任意のその他の成分を更に含有してもよい。
原料として、石英砂、石灰石、ドロマイト、ソーダ灰、硫酸ナトリウム、酸化鉄、酸化コバルト、セレン、クロム、コークスなどを用い、実施例および比較例のガラス組成物を調製した。調製した母ガラスにおける成分および量は、下記表2に示す通りであり、実施例および比較例において用いられた着色成分および量(母ガラス100重量部あたりの重量部)は、それぞれ下記表3(実施例1〜6)および表4(比較例1〜6)に示した通りである。
−可視光線透過率(LTA):370〜770nm波長範囲で、光源CIE A、視野角度2度により測定
−太陽エネルギー透過率(Te):300〜2500nm波長範囲で、ISO 9050:2003に従って測定
−紫外線透過率(Tuv):300〜380nm波長範囲で、ISO 9050:2003に従って測定
−色空間座標L*、a*、b*:光源D65、視野角度10度で測定
Claims (7)
- 母ガラス組成物100重量部に対して、
着色成分として、
全Fe2O3を1.2〜2重量部、
CoOを0.022〜0.04重量部、
Seを0.002〜0.0035重量部、および
Cr2O3を0.01〜0.04重量部含有し、
Seに対する(CoO+Cr2O3)の重量比(=[CoO+Cr2O3]/Se)が13〜25であり、
Cr2O3に対するCoOの重量比(=CoO/Cr2O3)が0.9〜1.8であり、
基準厚さ4mmで測定したとき、可視光線透過率(LTA)が15%以下、太陽エネルギー透過率(Te)が16%以下、および紫外線透過率(Tuv)が3%以下を示し、
透明色の色空間座標において、
L * が35〜50、
a * が−5〜0、および
b * が0〜6の範囲を有する濃緑灰色低透過ガラス組成物。 - 前記母ガラス組成物は、該母ガラス組成物の全100重量%に対して、
SiO2を65〜75重量%、
Al2O3を0.3〜3.0重量%、
Na2O+K2Oを10〜18重量%、
CaOを5〜15重量%、および
MgOを1〜7重量%含む請求項1に記載の濃緑灰色低透過ガラス組成物。 - 前記組成物におけるFeO含量が、全Fe2O3含量の10〜30%である請求項1に記載の濃緑灰色低透過ガラス組成物。
- 更に、MnO2を含む請求項1に記載の濃緑灰色低透過ガラス組成物。
- 更に、Ce、Sc、Y、La、Pr、Nd、Pm、Sm、Eu、Gd、Tb、Dy、Ho、Er、Tm、Yb、およびLuからなるランタニド族元素から選択される希土類元素の酸化物を含む請求項1に記載の濃緑灰色低透過ガラス組成物。
- 車両の窓、建築物の窓、装飾品、または家具に用いられる請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の濃緑灰色低透過ガラス組成物。
- 前記車両の窓が、自動車のサンルーフ、または側面または後部の視線遮断ガラスである請求項6に記載の濃緑灰色低透過ガラス組成物。
