Description
図1及び図2に示す本発明の第一実施形態による燃料噴射弁10は、内燃機関としてのガソリンエンジンに設置されている。燃料噴射弁10は、ガソリンエンジンに設けられた燃焼室90内へ向けて複数の噴孔155から燃料を噴射する。燃焼室90は、シリンダブロック、シリンダヘッド、及びピストン94等によって区画されている。シリンダヘッドには、燃料噴射弁10と共に、二つの吸気バルブ93、二つの排気バルブ92、及び点火プラグ91等が設置されている。燃料噴射弁10及び点火プラグ91は、各吸気バルブ93及び各排気バルブ92の中央に、互いに隣り合う配置にて設置されている。燃料噴射弁10は、点火プラグ91よりも二つの吸気バルブ93に近接しており、噴孔155の形成された先端部分を燃焼室90内に露出させている。点火プラグ91は、燃料噴射弁10よりも二つの排気バルブ92に近接しており、火炎核を生じさせる先端部分を燃焼室90内に露出させている。尚、図1には、説明を容易にするため、閉弁時における吸気バルブ93及び排気バルブ92が示されている。
図11〜図13に示す本発明の第二実施形態は、第一実施形態の変形例である。第二実施形態による燃料噴射弁210は、燃焼室90に対する相対的な設置位置及び設置姿勢が第一実施形態の燃料噴射弁10(図1参照)とは異なっている。燃料噴射弁210は、図11及び図12に示すように、点火プラグ91を挟んで二つの排気バルブ92とは反対側に配置されている。燃料噴射弁210は、複数の噴孔255が形成された先端部分を、二つの吸気バルブ93の間に位置させている。燃料噴射弁210は、点火プラグ91に対し傾斜した姿勢にて燃焼室90の外周側に配置されており、燃焼室90に向けて側方から燃料を噴射する。
以上、本発明による複数の実施形態について説明したが、本発明は、上記実施形態に限定して解釈されるものではなく、本発明の要旨を逸脱しない範囲内において種々の実施形態及び組み合わせに適用することができる。
Claims (5)
- 内燃機関に設けられた燃焼室(90)内へ向けて複数の噴孔(155,255)から燃料を噴射する燃料噴射弁であって、
複数の前記噴孔について、個々の指向方向を規定する各噴孔軸線(159,259)は、互いに異なる方向を向き、
複数の前記噴孔のうちで、前記噴孔軸線(159b,259b)の姿勢により前記燃焼室の吸気側を指向する少なくとも一つの吸気側噴孔(157)は、当該噴孔軸線に沿って内周壁面(157a)を延伸させるストレート形状であり、
複数の前記噴孔のうちで、前記噴孔軸線(159a,259a)の姿勢により前記燃焼室の排気側を指向する少なくとも一つの排気側噴孔(156)は、前記燃焼室に露出する出口側の開口(155b_e)に向かうに従って当該噴孔軸線から内周壁面(156a)を離間させる拡大形状であり、
前記吸気側噴孔における入口側の開口(155a_i)の面積(A_i)は、前記排気側噴孔における入口側の開口(155a_e)の面積(A_e)に揃えられ、
前記吸気側噴孔を貫通させる第一領域(167)、及び前記排気側噴孔を貫通させる第二領域(166)を形成する噴孔壁(160,260)、を備え、
前記第一領域の壁厚及び前記第二領域の壁厚は、前記吸気側噴孔の流路長さ及び前記排気側噴孔の流路長さにそれぞれ対応するよう規定されることにより、互いに異なり、
前記第一領域の壁厚が前記第二領域の壁厚よりも薄いことで、前記吸気側噴孔の流路長さは、前記排気側噴孔の流路長さよりも短いことを特徴とする燃料噴射弁。 - 前記排気側噴孔は、基準となる基準内径(Dn_e)から前記出口側の開口に向かって流路面積を拡大させる拡大テーパ形状であり、
前記排気側噴孔の流路長さ(Ln_e)を当該排気側噴孔の前記基準内径によって除算した値は、2.0〜3.0の範囲内であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の燃料噴射弁。 - 前記吸気側噴孔は、基準となる基準内径(Dn_i)を維持しつつ延伸するストレート形状であり、
前記吸気側噴孔の流路長さ(Ln_i)を当該吸気側噴孔の前記基準内径によって除算した値は、1.5以上であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の燃料噴射弁。 - 複数の前記噴孔と連通するサック室(154)を円筒穴状の凹部(153)により形成するサック部(152)、を備え、
前記サック室に臨む各前記噴孔の各入口側の開口(155a,255a)は、当該サック室の中心軸線(18)周りに等間隔で並ぶことを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の燃料噴射弁。 - 前記吸気側噴孔及び前記排気側噴孔につき、それぞれの前記噴孔軸線を含む各縦断面において、各入口側の開口(155a,255a)を区画する各エッジ部(164)のコーナー半径は共に、10マイクロメートル以下であることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の燃料噴射弁。
