Description
本実施形態の製造方法で用いる液晶ポリエステルは、溶融状態で液晶性を示す液晶ポリエステルであり、450℃以下の温度で溶融するものであることが好ましい。なお、液晶ポリエステルは、液晶ポリエステルアミドであってもよいし、液晶ポリエステルエーテルであってもよいし、液晶ポリエステルカーボネートであってもよいし、液晶ポリエステルイミドであってもよい。液晶ポリエステルは、原料モノマーとして芳香族化合物のみを用いてなる全芳香族液晶ポリエステルであることが好ましい。
次に、本実施形態の製造方法で用いる押出機10について、図1を参照しながら詳細に説明する。
本実施形態の第1混練部81は、スクリュー構成に制限はなく、溶融していない部分が残る程度に液晶ポリエステルの溶融を促進させる構成であれば、種々の構成を採用することができる。例えば、第1混練部81のスクリュー構成として、順ニーディングディスク(3R)と、ニュートラルニーディングディスク(3N)と、逆ニーディングディスク(3L)と、を、上流側から、3R,3N,3N,3N,3L,3Lで組み合わせたものを例示することができる。
第1追加部61は、供給部4と同様に、シリンダー2の内部と接続するホッパーと、樹脂を定質量又は定容量で供給する供給装置と、を有している。供給装置の供給方式としては、例えば、ベルト式、スクリュー式、振動式、テーブル式が挙げられる。
上記関係式を満たすため、第2混練部82のスクリュー構成が逆ニーディングディスクを有していないスクリューを用いて押出成形を行うとよい。逆ニーディングディスクを用いないスクリュー構成では、弱い混練となるため、繊維状フィラー以外のフィラーに起因した液晶ポリエステルの加水分解が生じにくくなる。
第2追加部62は、供給部4と同様に、シリンダー2の内部と接続するホッパーと、樹脂を定質量又は定容量で供給する供給装置と、を有している。供給装置の供給方式としては、例えば、ベルト式、スクリュー式、振動式、テーブル式が挙げられる。
第3混練部83は、スクリュー構成に制限はなく、液晶ポリエステルの溶融を促進し完全に溶融させる構成であれば、種々の構成を採用することができる。これにより、溶融状態の液晶ポリエステルに、追加部6から供給される充填材等を良好に混練することができる。
液晶ポリエステルの流動開始温度は、フローテスター((株)島津製作所製、CFT−500型)を用いて測定した。液晶ポリエステル約2gを、内径1mm及び長さ10mmのノズルを有するダイを取り付けたシリンダーに充填し、9.8MPa(100kg/cm2)の荷重下、4℃/分の速度で昇温しながら、液晶ポリエステルを溶融させ、ノズルから押し出し、4800Pa・s(48000ポイズ)の粘度を示す温度を、流動開始温度として測定した。
下記実施例および比較例で作成したペレットを130℃で5時間乾燥させた後、射出成形することにより作製したミニダンベル(JIS−K7113 1(1/2))の試験片を、加熱したハンダ浴に1分間浸漬し、試験片の変形またはブリスター(膨れ異常)の発生が見られなかった最高温度を、半田耐熱温度として測定した。昇温は5℃刻みで行った。測定値に基づいて、半田耐熱温度が高いものほど、高い耐熱性を有するものとして判断した。
混練後の液晶ポリエステルの樹脂温度は、非接触型温度計(HORIBA社製、IT−550S)を用い、放射率を0.86に設定して、第1ベント部51および第2ベント部52からシリンダー2内を搬送される樹脂について測定した値を採用した。
図2は、実施例1で用いた押出機について、シリンダー2に設けられたヒーターを示す模式図である。なお、図2には、ヒーターに対する押出機が有する各構成の位置を、図1と共通した符号を用いて示している。
第2混練部82と対応する位置のスクリュー構成をフルフライトにし、第2混練部82を無くしたこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして、液晶ポリエステルを含有するペレットを作製した。
ヒーターC6の設定温度を250℃に設定したこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして、液晶ポリエステルを含有するペレットを作製した。
第2混練部82のスクリュー構成を、上流側から5N、5Lで組み合わせたものにしたこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして、液晶ポリエステルを含有するペレットを作製した。
第2混練部82のスクリュー構成を、上流側から5R、5N、5Lで組み合わせたものにしたこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして、液晶ポリエステルを含有するペレットを作製した。
Claims (7)
- 二軸押出機を用いて液晶ポリエステルをフィラーと溶融混練して押し出す液晶ポリエステル組成物の製造方法であって、
前記二軸押出機として、シリンダーが、少なくとも液晶ポリエステルを供給する供給部と、前記供給部の下流に設けられフィラーを追加する追加部と、を有し、
前記追加部は、フィラー(ただし繊維状フィラーを除く)を追加する第1追加部と、繊維状フィラーを追加する第2追加部と、を含み、
スクリューが、前記第1追加部を挟んで上流側および下流側にそれぞれ混練部を有しており、
前記第1追加部の直近上流に設けられた混練部で混練した後の前記液晶ポリエステルの樹脂温度が下記式(1)を満たし、
前記第1追加部の直近下流に設けられた混練部で混練した後の前記液晶ポリエステルの樹脂温度が下記式(2)を満たし、
前記第1追加部が、前記第2追加部より上流側に設けられていることを特徴とする液晶ポリエステル組成物の製造方法。

- 前記シリンダーが、前記第1追加部の直近下流に設けられた混練部の下流側に、ベント部を有することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の液晶ポリエステル組成物の製造方法。
- 前記シリンダーがベント部を有し、最下流に設けられた前記ベント部が真空ベント部であり、前記真空ベント部のゲージ圧が、大気圧を0MPaとしたときに−0.05MPa以下であることを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載の液晶ポリエステル組成物の製造方法。
- 前記繊維状フィラー以外のフィラーが、タルクまたはマイカであることを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載の液晶ポリエステル組成物の製造方法。
- 前記組成物が、前記液晶ポリエステル100重量部、前記繊維状フィラー以外のフィラー20重量部以上200重量部以下、前記繊維状フィラー20重量部以上200重量部以下を含有することを特徴とする請求項1から5のいずれか1項に記載の液晶ポリエステル組成物の製造方法。
- 液晶ポリエステルの温度T2は、液晶ポリエステルの温度T1よりも高いことを特徴とする請求項1から6のいずれか1項に記載の液晶ポリエステル組成物の製造方法。
