・前記イオンビームは一般に、1種以上の希ガス、好ましくはArあるいはNe、Xe、Kr、及び/又は酸素O2、窒素N2又は二酸化炭素CO2のビームであり、
・大面積源と一般に称されるもの、とりわけライン(長く且つ細い)源を使って、1cm2より大きい、更には10cm2以上の、エロージョン面積が実現されて、当該面積の走査をより容易にし、
・前記ビームは5keV未満のエネルギー、更には2keV以下のエネルギーを有するのが好ましく、そして
・これは特に、表面構造の前記配列が形成されるまでは、標準的な腐食角、あるいは前記エロージョン処理される表面の法線に対して所定の角度、好ましくは70°未満の角度にある、
工程、
・前記エロージョン処理の間に、特に前記活性化エネルギーを低下させる(ゼロにはしない)よう、前記混成材料を任意選択的に加熱する工程、

・当該材料中における当該1以上の種のモル百分率は6モル%から最大50モル%までの範囲であるとともに、前記酸化物の百分率よりは小さいものにとどまり、当該種は50nmより小さい最大特性寸法を有し、上述の方法を使って得ることができる。

・表面構造は高さHと幅W及び隣り合う表面構造間の間隔Dにより規定される。
・間隔Dは、マイクロ流体用途又は湿潤特性向けには5μmより小さくなるよう、赤外線用途向けには2μmより小さくなるよう、そして赤外領域にも及ぶ光学用途(光電池又は光触媒などのための反射防止、光抽出及び集光)向けには500nmより小さく、好ましくは300nmより小さく、より好ましくは200nmより小さくなるように選ばれる。
・高さHは好ましくは、光学(可視及び赤外)用途向けには20nmより大きく、より好ましくは50nmより大きく、更に一層好ましくは100nmより大きくなるよう、そして湿潤特性(超疎水性又は超親水性)向けには70nmより大きく、好ましくは150nmより大きくなるように選ばれる。
・幅Wは、D/10より大きく、より好ましくはD/5より大きく、更に一層好ましくはD/2より大きくなるように選ばれる。
・表面構造は高さHと幅W及び隣り合う表面構造間の間隔Dにより規定される。
・間隔Dは、マイクロ流体用途向け又は湿潤特性用には5μmより小さくなるよう、赤外用途向けには2μmより小さくなるように選ばれる。
・高さHは好ましくは、湿潤特性(超疎水性又は超親水性)のためには70nmより大きく、より好ましくは150nmより大きくなるように選ばれる。
・幅Wは、D/10より大きく、より好ましくはD/5より大きく、更に一層好ましくはD/2より大きくなるように選ばれる。
・間隔Dは、200nmより小さくなるよう、好ましくは200nmと100nmの間になるよう、より好ましくは50nmより小さくなるように選ばれる。
・高さHは好ましくは、20nmより大きく、より好ましくは50nmより大きくなるように選ばれる。
・幅Wは、D/10より大きく、好ましくはD/5より大きく、より好ましくはD/2より大きくなるように選ばれる。
第1の厚さ2mmの銀イオン交換した窓ガラスを、Saint−Gobain社からのPlanilux(商標)ソーダ石灰フロートガラスとのイオン交換後に得た。
得られたガラスは、表面から数ミクロンの深さまでの銀濃度プロファイルを有していた。
表面は約15モル%のAgを含有していた。
大量のアルミナを含有しているJenaガラスを、硝酸銀中で2時間の同じイオン交換に付した。得られた銀イオン交換ガラスは、Planilux(商標)ガラスとは違って、着色していなかった。アルミニウムはケイ素よりも陽性が強いので、AlO2中では酸素イオンはSiO2中よりも更に負に帯電している。従って、アルミナの存在は格子中におけるイオン形態の銀を安定化させ、そのため金属銀が凝集して粒子を形成するのを妨げる。ナトリウム及び酸化銀とシリカの詳しい濃度プロファイルを、先のガラスについてEDXにより測定した。
第2の混成材料をゾル−ゲル法を使って調製し、エロージョン処理した。
銀の例と同じように、10モル%の銅を含有しているシリカのゾル−ゲル被膜を製造した。表面の構造を、室温でのエロージョンの前と15分後に比較した。
工業的には、マグネトロンスパッタリングによる被膜の被着は一般的であり、十分特性の知られた技術である。マグネトロンスパッタリングによって、組成を十分制御されたサブミクロンサイズ、更にはミクロンサイズの厚さの被膜を、共同被着により形成することが可能である。その上、イオンエロージョンとマグネトロン被着を同じ真空チャンバーで行うことができ、これは、構造化操作を行うのに要する時間とそのコストの点から見て非常に有利である。
図8は、非構造化混成シリカ/銅材料の被膜の比較対照例のAFM顕微鏡写真を示している。それは、室温でのイオンエロージョン後のマグネトロンスパッタリングにより得られた銅をドープしたシリカの被膜のAFM顕微鏡写真である。室温では、AFMによって構造化は観測されなかった。表面は、標準の腐食角でのイオンエロージョン下で平滑にされる純粋なシリカ被膜とは対照的に、比較的粗いままであった。構造体がないのは、マグネトロンスパッタリングで被着させたシリカ中では銅は十分に移動性でないことによるのかもしれない。活性化エネルギーは非常に高く、熱処理が必要とされる。銅の含有量が少なくなればなるほど、熱処理の温度は高くする必要がある。
Claims (14)
- 表面を構造化するための方法、すなわち高さHがサブミクロンサイズであり、そして幅Wがサブミクロンサイズである複数の凹凸(2、4)を、材料(1)の所定の領域にイオンエロージョンによって形成するための方法であって、以下の工程、すなわち、
・厚さが100nm以上である前記材料を供給する工程であり、当該材料は次のもの、すなわち、
・1元素の単一酸化物又は2以上の元素の混合酸化物であって、前記材料中における当該酸化物のモル百分率が少なくとも40%であり、当該酸化物は次の酸化物、すなわち、シリカ、アルミナ、ジルコニア、酸化チタン、酸化セリウム、酸化マグネシウム、のうちの少なくとも1種から選ばれる、単一酸化物又は混合酸化物、及び
・前記酸化物の元素と異なる性質の少なくとも1つの種、
を含む固体混成材料である、材料供給工程、
・前記混成材料の表面を、前記複数の凹凸が形成されるまで、1cm2より大きいエロージョン領域への1時間未満のエロージョンで構造化する工程、
を含み、
前記材料中における前記少なくとも1つの種のモル百分率は6モル%から最大50モル%までの範囲であるとともに、前記酸化物の百分率よりは小さいものにとどまり、前記種の大部分は50nmより小さい最大寸法を有し、当該種は粒子の凝集体の形をした銀、又はイオン化された銅から選ばれ、前記混成材料は前記エロージョンより前において準安定性であること、を特徴とする表面構造化方法。 - 前記エロージョンの前に前記混成材料を加熱する工程を更に含むことを特徴とする、請求項1記載の表面構造化方法。
- 前記混成材料の表面をエロージョンで構造化する工程が前記混成材料を加熱することを含むこと特徴とする、請求項1又は2記載の表面構造化方法。
- 前記材料を、前記エロージョンの前及び/又は前記エロージョンの間、70℃以上の温度に加熱することを特徴とする、請求項1〜3の一つに記載の表面構造化方法。
- 前記エロージョンが、0.01mA/cm2より大きいエッチングフラックスを使用することを特徴とする、請求項1〜4の一つに記載の表面構造化方法。
- 前記エロージョンが、200〜2000eVの範囲のエネルギーを使用することを特徴とする、請求項1〜5の一つに記載の表面構造化方法。
- 前記種が、シリカ中の銅の場合はイオン化され、又はガラス中の銀の場合は凝集体であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜6の一つに記載の表面構造化方法。
- 前記種の有効電荷がゼロであるか0.5未満であることを特徴とする、請求項7記載の表面構造化方法。
- 前記混合酸化物が、次の酸化物、すなわち、混合酸化ケイ素アルミニウム、混合酸化ケイ素ジルコニウム、混合酸化ケイ素チタン、及びガラス、のうちの少なくとも1つから選ばれることを特徴とする、請求項1〜8の一つに記載の表面構造化方法。
- 前記混成材料が銅とイオン交換されたガラスであることを特徴とする、請求項1〜9の一つに記載の表面構造化方法。
- 前記ガラスがソーダ石灰ガラスであることを特徴とする、請求項10記載の表面構造化方法。
- バルク材料又は基材上の被膜である前記混成材料がゾル−ゲルであること、そして前記酸化物が前記遷移金属、あるいはガリウム、アンチモン、インジウム又はスズを粒子の形でもって取り込んでいる次の元素、すなわちSi、Ti、Zr、Al、Mg及びCe、のうちの少なくとも1つのものの酸化物であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜9の一つに記載の表面構造化方法。
- 前記酸化物が銀を粒子の凝集体の形でもって取り込んでいることを特徴とする、請求項1〜9の一つに記載の表面構造化方法。
- 前記混成材料が、酸素雰囲気中で金属ターゲットを使用し又は前記酸化物で作られたターゲットを使用する前記種及び酸化物の共同被着による、基材上への物理気相成長により被着された被膜であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜13の一つに記載の表面構造化方法。
