Description
DMD10の前方側の面には、LED4からの光を投影レンズ6に向けて出射する投影面11が形成されている。リフレクタ5は、LED4から出射された光をDMD10の投影面11に反射させる反射面5aを備えている。車両用前照灯1は、LED4から出射しリフレクタ5で反射された光により、DMD10の投影面11を照らすように構成されている。
灯具の前方に図4の(a)のような配光パターン(ロービーム配光パターン)30を形成するためには、投影面11に図4の(b)のような照射パターン40を形成する。投影面11に形成された照射パターン40が投影レンズ6によって灯具の前方に投影されて配光パターン30が形成される。なお、図4の(a)および(c)は、車両用前照灯1の25m前方に設けられた仮想的な鉛直スクリーン上に形成される配光パターン30,30Aを示している。
制御部7は、先述したようにオン信号を反射素子12に送信して反射素子12を出射状態とし、オフ信号を反射素子12に送信して反射素子12を非出射状態としている。ここで、制御部7は、図5の(a)〜(c)に示すように、オン信号とオフ信号とを細かく切り替えている。制御部7は、単位時間内におけるオン信号を送信している時間Taとオフ信号を送信している時間Tbとの比率Ta/Tbを制御している。これは、制御信号7は制御信号のオン期間とオフ期間のデューティ比を制御しているとも言い換えることができる。なお、単位時間とは、例えば1/60秒など、反射素子12の出射状態と非出射状態との切り替えに起因する照度の変化が、人間が光の点滅として捉えられない程度の時間である。
液晶装置60の投影面61には、複数の液晶素子(光学素子)62がマトリクス状に配列されている。これらの液晶素子62によって、LED4からの光を透過する投影面61が形成されている。また、投影面61上には、液晶素子62を保護するガラスカバー(透明カバー)63が取り付けられている。液晶素子62は、ガラスカバー63と透明電極64の間にマトリクス状に個別に封入されている。
Claims (5)
- 投影レンズと、
前記投影レンズの後方焦点近傍に位置しマトリクス状に配列された複数の光学素子によって形成される投影面を有した二次元画像形成装置と、
前記二次元画像形成装置の投影面に光を照射する光源とを備え、
前記光学素子を個別に駆動して前記投影面に形成した照射パターンを前記投影レンズにより灯具前方に投影して配光パターンを形成する車両用前照灯の制御方法であって、
前記投影面の端部に位置する前記光学素子から前記投影レンズに向かって出射される単位時間当たりの光の出射率を、前記投影面の端部に位置する前記光学素子以外の前記光学素子の前記出射率より低く設定することを特徴とする車両用灯具の制御方法。 - 前記光学素子の前記出射率が、前記投影面の中央から前記投影面の端部に向けて徐々に低くなるように設定されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の車両用灯具の制御方法。
- 前記光源からの光を前記投影レンズを介して灯具前方に出射させる出射状態とされた前記光学素子のうち、前記投影面の端部に位置する前記光学素子の前記出射率が、前記投影面の端部に位置する前記光学素子以外の前記光学素子の前記出射率より低く設定されていることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の車両用灯具の制御方法。
- 前記光学素子は、前記光源からの光を前記投影レンズを介して灯具前方に出射させる出射状態と、前記光源からの光を前記投影レンズに入射させない非出射状態とに切り替え可能とされており、
単位時間当たりにおける前記出射状態とされた時間Taと前記非出射状態とされた時間Tbとの比率Ta/Tbについて、前記投影面の端部に位置する前記光学素子の前記比率Ta/Tbが、前記投影面の端部に位置する前記光学素子以外の前記光学素子の前記比率Ta/Tbより低く設定されていることを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の車両用灯具の制御方法。 - 投影レンズと、
前記投影レンズの後方焦点近傍に位置しマトリクス状に配列された複数の光学素子によって形成される投影面を有した二次元画像形成装置と、
前記二次元画像形成装置の投影面に光を照射する光源と、
前記光学素子を個別に駆動して、前記投影レンズにより灯具前方に投影される配光パターンに対応した形状の照射パターンを前記投影面に形成する制御部と、
を備え、
前記制御部は、前記投影面の端部に位置する前記光学素子から前記投影レンズに向かって出射される単位時間当たりの光の出射率を、前記投影面の端部に位置する前記光学素子以外の前記光学素子の前記出射率より低く設定していることを特徴とする車両用灯具。
