Description
このエンジン・システムは、予め設定されたエンジン停止条件が成立したときに、燃料噴射弁53からの燃料の噴射を中止すると共に、点火プラグ51の点火動作を停止することにより、自動的にエンジン1を停止させる。また、エンジン1の自動停止後にエンジン1の再始動条件が成立したときに、エンジン1を自動的に再始動させる制御を実行する。エンジン1の自動停止時には、圧縮行程にある気筒11及び膨張行程にある気筒11において、ピストン15が上死点方向に移動する際の抵抗を大きくすべく、少なくともこれらの気筒11に対する吸気量を増大させ、特に膨張行程となる気筒11に対してより多く吸気を供給するように、スロットル弁57をエンジン1の停止動作期間中における所定期間だけ所定の開状態とする制御を実行する。

Claims (5)
- それぞれピストンが往復動可能に嵌挿された複数の気筒を有する多気筒エンジンと、
前記気筒内に燃料を噴射するように構成された燃料噴射弁と、
前記気筒内の混合気に点火をするように構成された点火プラグと、
前記気筒内に吸気を導入するための吸気弁を、前記ピストンの往復動に同期して開閉するように構成された吸気弁駆動機構と、
前記吸気弁の閉弁時期を、吸気下死点以降における所定の最進角時期と所定の最遅角時期との間で変更するように構成された、油圧駆動式のバルブ位相可変機構と、
前記エンジンによって駆動される機械駆動式でありかつ、前記バルブ位相可変機構に所定の油圧を供給するように構成された油圧供給源と、
前記エンジンの始動の際に、前記燃料噴射弁、点火プラグ、及びバルブ位相可変機構を制御するように構成された始動手段と、を備え、
前記バルブ位相可変機構は、供給される油圧が所定値以下のときには、前記吸気弁の閉弁時期を、前記最進角時期と前記最遅角時期との間の時期であって、有効圧縮比が所定以上となる閉弁時期にロックするように構成されており、
前記始動手段は、前記エンジンの始動時の温度状態が所定温度以上の高温状態にあるときには、前記複数の気筒の内の少なくとも、当該エンジンの停止時点において吸気行程にある気筒の燃料噴射時期を膨張行程初期になるよう遅角設定すると共に、点火時期を前記燃料噴射の完了後の膨張行程初期に設定し、
前記始動手段はまた、前記エンジンの始動を開始して前記バルブ位相可変機構に供給される油圧が前記所定値を超えた後も、前記エンジンの始動が完了するまでは、前記吸気弁の閉弁時期を前記所定時期よりも遅角させない非遅角設定とする火花点火式多気筒エンジンの始動装置。
- 請求項1に記載の火花点火式多気筒エンジンの始動装置において、
前記エンジンのクランキングを行うように構成されたスターターモータをさらに備え、
前記始動手段は、前記エンジンの始動時の温度状態が所定温度以上の高温状態にあるときであってかつ、前記エンジンの停止時点において圧縮行程にある気筒のピストン停止位置がその圧縮行程の中間点よりも下死点側にあるときには、前記複数の気筒の内のさらに、当該圧縮行程にある気筒の燃料噴射時期を、圧縮上死点以降の膨張行程初期になるよう遅角設定すると共に、点火時期を前記燃料噴射の完了後の膨張行程初期に設定し、
前記始動手段はまた、前記スターターモータを駆動する火花点火式多気筒エンジンの始動装置。 - 請求項1又は2に記載の火花点火式多気筒エンジンの始動装置において、
前記吸気弁駆動機構は、前記油圧供給源から油圧が供給されることによって、前記吸気弁のバルブクリアランスを調整するように構成されたハイドロリックラッシュアジャスタを有し、
前記始動手段は、前記エンジンの始動を開始して前記ハイドロリックラッシュアジャスタに油が供給された後は、前記燃料噴射時期の前記遅角設定を終了する火花点火式多気筒エンジンの始動装置。 - 請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の火花点火式多気筒エンジンの始動装置において、
前記始動手段は、前記エンジンの始動が完了するまでは、前記吸気弁の閉弁時期を前記所定時期に維持する火花点火式多気筒エンジンの始動装置。 - 請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の火花点火式多気筒エンジンの始動装置において、
前記始動手段は、前記エンジンを所定の条件下で自動停止させた後、所定の条件成立によって自動始動する際に、前記燃料噴射時期の前記遅角設定と、前記吸気弁の閉弁時期の前記非遅角設定とを行う火花点火式多気筒エンジンの始動装置。
