Description
a)以下を含む重合性組成物を型において反応させてコンタクトレンズを形成する工程、
(i)下記式で表される少なくとも1種のフッ素含有シリコーンモノマー、
(ii)少なくとも1種のフッ素非含有シリコーンモノマー、及び
(iii)少なくとも1種の親水性モノマー、
b)該コンタクトレンズを1以上の溶剤抽出工程で処理して不純物、オリゴマー及び未反応モノマーを除去し、該コンタクトレンズを水和する工程であって、全ての該溶剤抽出工程が水性溶媒を用いて行われる工程を含むことを特徴とするコンタクトレンズを製造する方法を提供する。
前記フッ素含有シリコーンモノマーのqの値が1〜2の範囲であることが好ましく、前記フッ素含有シリコーンモノマーが下記構造を有することがより好ましい。
(i)下記式で表される少なくとも1種のフッ素含有シリコーンモノマー、
(ii)少なくとも1種のフッ素非含有シリコーンモノマー、及び
(iii)少なくとも1種の親水性モノマーを含み、
該成分(i)の総量が組成物の全量の少なくとも20wt%であり、成分(i)と成分(ii)の総量が組成物の全量の50wt%未満である。
無溶剤とすることは、組成物が10wt%未満の有機溶剤を含み、ポリマー組成物の一部を構成しないことを意図し、5%未満の有機溶剤がより好ましく、2%未満の有機溶剤が更に好ましく、0%の有機溶剤が最も好ましい。
(i)20〜35wt%の少なくとも1種の下記式で表されるフッ素含有シリコーンモノマー、
(ii)8〜35wt%の少なくとも1種のフッ素非含有シリコーンモノマー、
(iii)25〜60wt%のN−ビニルピロリドン又はN−メチル−N−ビニルアセトアミド、及び
(iv)2〜10wt%の2−ヒドロキシエチルメタクリレートを含み、
該成分(i)と該成分(ii)の総量が55wt%未満であることを特徴とする重合性組成物が提供される。
(i)20〜35wt%の少なくとも1種の下記式で表されるフッ素含有シリコーンモノマー、
(ii)15〜35wt%の少なくとも1種のフッ素非含有シリコーンモノマー、
(iii)25〜60wt%のN−ビニルピロリドン又はN−メチル−N−ビニルアセトアミド、及び
(iv)2〜10wt%の2−ヒドロキシエチルメタクリレートを含み、
該成分(i)と該成分(ii)の総量が50wt%未満であることを特徴とする重合性組成物が提供される。
nは0〜1であることが好ましく、より好ましくは0〜7である。pは1〜10であることが好ましく、より好ましくは3〜7である。
各R1はアルキル基であることが好ましく、より好ましくはメチル基である。
更に好ましい実施形態において、mは2〜4である。別の好ましい実施形態において、aは0である。
好ましいR3基は炭素数1〜6のアルキル基及び1〜30個のSi−0ユニットを含むシロキサン鎖であり、更に好ましくは、炭素数1〜6のアルキル基、特にn−アルキル基である。
特にトリス(トリメチルシリルオキシ)シリルプロピルメタクリレート(TRIS)が好ましい。
好ましい架橋剤はテトラエチレングリコールジメタクリレート(TEGDMA)である。
より好ましくは、硬化は加熱により、窒素又は不活性ガスを含み、50ppm未満の酸素を含む不活性雰囲気下で行われる。
「眼科学的に適合する」とは眼球環境に大きな変化を与えずに眼球環境と直接接することができ、毒性学的に不活性であり、コタクト装着中および続く取り外し時にユーザーに不快感を与えない材料を意味する。この用語は、眼球環境に内在するタンパク質、脂質又は他の生体分子の沈着を、器具の性能を妥協することなく、接した後に容易に器具を取り外すことができる程度に抑えることができるレンズ材料の性質も意味する。
表2〜5、7及び8に示した組成を有する様々なモノマー混合物を反応させてコンタクトレンズを製造した。
反応物質及びもし含まれていれば溶剤を室温で混合し、重合性混合物を調製した。混合物を射出成形のポリプロピレンコンタクトレンズ型に配置し、不活性雰囲気で運転するように変更した特注のギャレンカンプ製オーブンで加熱により硬化した。硬化を始める前に、オーブンを20リットル/分の流量の窒素で1時間パージしてオーブンチャンバー中の酸素濃度を低減した。硬化中、前記流量を1〜2リットル/分に下げ、窒素の僅かな陽圧を維持した。硬化中の酸素濃度は実質的に100ppmより低く、好ましくは50ppm未満である。硬化中の酸素濃度が重要なパラメータであり、これを制御及び維持しなければならないことが当業者に知られている。レンズは典型的には二段階硬化プロファイル(低温第1温度プラトーの後、高温第2段階温度プラトー)を用いて硬化された。

TRIS:トリス(トリメチルシリルオキシ)シリルプロピルメタクリレート
n−PrOH:n−プロパノール
EtOH:エタノール
EtAc:酢酸エチル
実施例10は実施例9と同様に、モノマー混合物100gあたり16.5gのn−プロパノール溶剤を有し、著しく劣った離型スコア及び増加した及び許容できないほど高いヘイズレベルを示す。より高いヘイズレベルは、この範囲のトライアルで組成物に溶剤を添加する時に典型的であり、いずれの場合においても溶剤を有する組成物の方が対応する溶剤を有しない組成物よりも離型スコアが高かった。
Claims (12)
- a)以下を含む重合性組成物を型において反応させてソフトコンタクトレンズを形成する工程、
(i)下記式で表される少なくとも1種のフッ素含有シリコーンモノマー、
(ii)少なくとも1種のフッ素非含有シリコーンモノマー、及び
(iii)少なくとも1種の親水性モノマー、
b)該ソフトコンタクトレンズを1以上の溶剤抽出工程で処理して不純物、オリゴマー及び未反応モノマーを除去し、該ソフトコンタクトレンズを水和する工程であって、全ての該溶剤抽出工程が水性溶媒を用いて行われる工程を含むことを特徴とするソフトコンタクトレンズを製造する方法。 - 前記成分(i)の総量は前記組成物の全量の少なくとも20wt%であり、前記成分(i)と前記成分(ii)の総量は前記組成物の全量の50wt%未満であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 更に少なくとも1種の架橋剤を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 更にシリコン非含有疎水性モノマーを含むことを特徴とする、請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記親水性モノマーがN−ビニルピロリドン、N−メチル−N−ビニルアセトアミド、N,N−ジメチルアクリルアミド及び2−ヒドロキシエチルメタクリレートからなる群より選択される1種以上を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- N,N−ジメチルアクリルアミドが3〜10wt%の量で存在することを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記フッ素非含有シリコーンモノマーがトリス(トリメチルシリルオキシ)シリルプロピルメタクリレートを含むことを特徴とする、請求項1乃至6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記qが1又は2であることを特徴とする、請求項1乃至7のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- (i)下記式で表される少なくとも1種のフッ素含有シリコーンモノマー、
(ii)少なくとも1種のフッ素非含有シリコーンモノマー、及び
(iii)少なくとも1種の親水性モノマーを含み、
該成分(i)の総量が組成物の全量の少なくとも20wt%であり、成分(i)と成分(ii)の総量が組成物の全量の50wt%未満であることを特徴とする無溶剤重合性組成物。
