Description
布帛の摩耗性能は、ASTM D−3884−01「Standard Guide for Abrasion Resistance of Textile Fabrics(Rotary Platform,Double Head Method)」に従い測定する。
本例は、過半部分である、結晶化度が少なくとも20%のメタ−アラミド繊維と、少量部分である、モダクリル繊維、パラ−アラミド繊維、および帯電防止繊維とを組み合わせた糸、布帛、および衣服を例示するものである。この材料は、所望のアーク等級である2と、試験用機器を装備したサーマルマネキンから予測される4秒間暴露による体の火傷が60%未満であることとの両方を有している。
緊密な混繊品中のモダクリル繊維に替えて同量のFRレーヨン繊維を使用することを除いて比較例Aを繰り返す。FRレーヨン繊維はLenzing FRビスコースである。次いで、この布帛の一部を用いてアーク、熱、および機械特性に関する試験を実施し、一部をフラッシュ火災試験用の単層防護カバーオールにする。
Nomex(登録商標)type450繊維を55.8重量%、Kevlar(登録商標)type29繊維を3%、FRレーヨン繊維を23重量%、モダクリル繊維を17重量%、およびP140繊維を1.2重量%の混繊品を作製することを除いて比較例AおよびBに示した方法を繰り返し、糸、布帛、および衣服を作製する。次いで、この布帛の一部を用いてアーク、熱、および機械特性に関する試験を実施し、一部をフラッシュ火災試験用の単層防護カバーオールにする。
次に、本発明の態様を示す。
1. アークおよび火炎防護に使用するための糸であって、
(a)結晶化度が少なくとも20%であるメタ−アラミド繊維を50〜80重量%、
(b)難燃レーヨン繊維を10〜30重量%、
(c)モダクリル繊維を10〜20重量%、
(d)パラ−アラミド繊維を0〜5重量%、および
(e)帯電防止繊維を0〜3重量%
から基本的になり、
前記百分率が、成分(a)、(b)、(c)、(d)、および(e)を基準とする、糸。
2. 前記メタ−アラミド繊維の結晶化度が20〜50%の範囲にある、上記1に記載の糸。
3. アークおよび火炎防護に使用するのに適した布帛であって、
(a)結晶化度が少なくとも20%であるメタ−アラミド繊維を50〜80重量%、
(b)難燃レーヨン繊維を10〜30重量%、
(c)モダクリル繊維を10〜20重量%、
(d)パラ−アラミド繊維を0〜5重量%、および
(e)帯電防止繊維を0〜3重量%
から基本的になる糸を含み、
前記百分率が、成分(a)、(b)、(c)、(d)、および(e)を基準とし、
前記布帛の目付が186.5〜237グラム毎平方メートル(5.5〜7オンス毎平方ヤード)の範囲にある、布帛。
4. 前記メタ−アラミド繊維の結晶化度が20〜50%の範囲にある、上記3に記載の布帛。
5. ASTM D−6413−99に準拠する炭化長が6インチ未満である、上記3に記載の布帛。
6. ASTM F−1959−99に準拠する耐アーク性が少なくとも1.1カロリー毎平方センチメートル毎オンス毎平方ヤード布帛である、上記3に記載の布帛。
7. 前記耐アーク性が少なくとも1.3カロリー毎平方センチメートル毎オンス毎平方ヤード布帛である、上記6に記載の布帛。
8. アークおよび火炎防護に使用するのに適した衣服であって、
(a)結晶化度が少なくとも20%であるメタ−アラミド繊維を50〜80重量%、
(b)難燃レーヨン繊維を10〜30重量%、
(c)モダクリル繊維を10〜20重量%、
(d)パラ−アラミド繊維を0〜5重量%、および場合によっては
(e)帯電防止繊維を0〜3重量%
から基本的になる布帛を含み、
前記百分率が、成分(a)、(b)、(c)、(d)、および(e)を基準とし、
前記布帛の目付が186.5〜237グラム毎平方メートル(5.5〜7オンス毎平方ヤード)の範囲にある、衣服。
9. 前記メタ−アラミド繊維の結晶化度が20〜50%の範囲にある、上記8に記載の布帛。
10. ASTM F1930に準拠し4秒間火炎暴露した場合の体の火傷が65%未満となることに相当する熱防護を提供すると同時に、ASTM F1959およびNFPA 70Eに準拠するカテゴリー2のアーク等級を維持する、上記8に記載の衣服。
Claims (3)
- アークおよび火炎防護に使用するための糸であって、
(a)結晶化度が少なくとも20%であるメタ−アラミド繊維を50〜80重量%、
(b)難燃レーヨン繊維を10〜30重量%、
(c)モダクリル繊維を10〜20重量%、
(d)パラ−アラミド繊維を0〜5重量%、および
(e)帯電防止繊維を0〜3重量%
から基本的になり、
前記百分率が、成分(a)、(b)、(c)、(d)、および(e)を基準とする、糸。 - アークおよび火炎防護に使用するのに適した布帛であって、
(a)結晶化度が少なくとも20%であるメタ−アラミド繊維を50〜80重量%、
(b)難燃レーヨン繊維を10〜30重量%、
(c)モダクリル繊維を10〜20重量%、
(d)パラ−アラミド繊維を0〜5重量%、および
(e)帯電防止繊維を0〜3重量%
から基本的になる糸を含み、
