- Yarns And Mechanical Finishing Of Yarns Or Ropes (AREA)
Description
布帛の摩耗性能は、ASTM D−3884−01「Standard Guide for Abrasion Resistance of Textile Fabrics(Rotary Platform,Double Head Method)」に従い測定する。
本実施例は、結晶化度が少なくとも20%であるメタ系アラミド繊維をモダクリル繊維およびパラ系アラミド繊維と組み合わせた糸、布帛、および衣服について例示するものである。この素材は、所望のアーク等級である2と、試験用機器を装備したサーマルマネキンから予測される4秒間暴露による体の火傷が65%未満であることとの両方を呈する。
同一の繊維を用いて組成の異なる3種の物品を作製することを除いて実施例1の手順を繰り返す。第1の物品Aは、Nomex(R)繊維を25重量%、Kevlar(R)繊維を10重量%、およびモダクリル繊維を65重量%の混繊品からなる。第2の物品Bは、Nomex(R)繊維を65重量%、Kevlar(R)繊維を10重量%、およびモダクリル繊維を25重量%の混繊品からなる。第3の物品Cは、Nomex(R)繊維を70重量%、Kevlar(R)繊維を10重量%、およびモダクリル繊維を20重量%の混繊品からなる。次いで、この布帛の一部を用いてアーク、熱、および機械特性に関する試験を実施し、一部はフラッシュ火災試験用の単層防護カバーオールにする。
Nomex(R)繊維の2重量パーセントを帯電防止繊維(P140として市販されていることが周知のカーボン芯/ナイロン鞘繊維)に置き換えることを除いて実施例1を繰り返す。結果として得られた布帛を、実施例1と同等の性能が予測される単層防護カバーオールにする。
アンチモン6.8%を含有するモダクリル繊維をアンチモン非含有モダクリルに置き換えることを除いて実施例1を繰り返す。結果として得られた布帛を単層防護カバーオールにする。
次に、本発明の態様を示す。
1. アークおよび火炎防護に使用するための糸であって、
(a)結晶化度が少なくとも20%であるメタ系アラミド繊維を50〜60重量パーセント、
(b)モダクリル繊維を31〜39重量パーセント、および
(c)パラ系アラミド繊維を5〜15重量パーセント
から本質的になり、前記百分率が、成分(a)、(b)、および(c)を基準とし、
但し、
前記メタ系アラミド繊維が少なくとも50重量パーセント存在することを条件に、前記メタ系アラミド繊維の1〜3重量パーセントが帯電防止繊維に置き換えられていてもよい、糸。
2. 前記メタ系アラミド繊維が少なくとも50重量パーセントに維持されることを条件に、前記メタ系アラミド繊維の1〜3重量パーセントが、炭素または金属を含有する帯電防止繊維に置き換えられている、上記1に記載の糸。
3. 前記メタ系アラミド繊維の結晶化度が20〜50%の範囲にある、上記1に記載の糸。
4. 前記モダクリル繊維がアンチモンを8パーセント未満含む、上記1に記載の糸。
5. 帯電防止繊維が存在しない、上記1に記載の糸。
6. アークおよび火炎防護に使用するのに適した布帛であって、
(a)結晶化度が少なくとも20%であるメタ系アラミド繊維を50〜60重量パーセント、
(b)モダクリル繊維を31〜39重量パーセント、および
(c)パラ系アラミド繊維を5〜15重量パーセント
から本質的になる糸を含み、前記百分率が、成分(a)、(b)、および(c)を基準とし、
但し、
前記メタ系アラミド繊維が少なくとも50重量パーセント存在することを条件に、前記メタ系アラミド繊維の1〜3重量パーセントが帯電防止繊維に置き換えられていてもよく、
前記布帛の目付が135〜407グラム毎平方メートル(4〜12オンス毎平方ヤード)の範囲にある、布帛。
7. 前記メタ系アラミド繊維が少なくとも50重量パーセントに維持されることを条件に、前記メタ系アラミド繊維の1〜3重量パーセントが、炭素または金属を含有する帯電防止繊維に置き換えられている、上記6に記載の布帛。
8. 前記モダクリル繊維がアンチモンを8パーセント未満含む、上記6に記載の布帛。
9. ASTM D−6413−99に準拠する炭化長が6インチ未満である、上記6に記載の布帛。
10. ASTM F−1959−99に準拠する耐アーク性が1.5カロリー毎平方センチメートル毎オンス毎平方ヤード布帛を超える、上記6に記載の布帛。
11. 前記メタ系アラミド繊維の結晶化度が20〜50%の範囲にある、上記6に記載の布帛。
12. 帯電防止繊維が存在しない、上記6に記載の布帛。
13. アークおよび火炎防護に使用するのに適した衣服であって、
(a)結晶化度が少なくとも20%であるメタ系アラミド繊維を50〜60重量パーセント、
(b)モダクリル繊維を31〜39重量パーセント、および
(c)パラ系アラミド繊維を5〜15重量パーセント
から本質的になる布帛を含み、前記百分率が、成分(a)、(b)、および(c)を基準とし、
但し、
前記メタ系アラミド繊維は少なくとも50重量パーセント存在することを条件に、前記メタ系アラミド繊維の1〜3重量パーセントが帯電防止繊維に置き換えられていてもよく、
前記布帛の目付が150〜290グラム毎平方メートル(4.5〜8.5オンス毎平方ヤード)の範囲にある、衣服。
14. メタ系アラミド繊維が少なくとも50重量パーセントに維持されることを条件に、前記メタ系アラミド繊維の1〜3重量パーセントが、炭素または金属を含有する帯電防止繊維に置き換えられている、上記13に記載の衣服。
15. 前記モダクリル繊維がアンチモンを8パーセント未満含む、上記13に記載の衣服。
16. ASTM F1930に準拠する4秒間の火炎暴露による体の火傷が65%未満に相当する熱防護を提供すると共に、ASTM F1959およびNFPA 70Eに準拠するカテゴリー2のアーク等級を維持する、上記13に記載の衣服。
17. 前記布帛のASTM F−1959−99に準拠する耐アーク性が1.5カロリー毎平方センチメートル毎オンス毎平方ヤード布帛を超える、上記13に記載の衣服。
18. 帯電防止繊維が存在しない、上記13に記載の衣服。
Claims (3)
- アークおよび火炎防護に使用するための糸であって、
(a)結晶化度が少なくとも20%であるメタ系アラミド繊維を50〜60重量パーセント、
(b)モダクリル繊維を31〜39重量パーセント、および
(c)パラ系アラミド繊維を5〜15重量パーセント
から本質的になり、前記百分率が、成分(a)、(b)、および(c)を基準とし、
但し、
前記メタ系アラミド繊維が少なくとも50重量パーセント存在することを条件に、前記メタ系アラミド繊維の1〜3重量パーセントが帯電防止繊維に置き換えられていてもよい、糸。 - アークおよび火炎防護に使用するのに適した布帛であって、
