Description
2つ以上の電池セル又は1つ以上の電池モジュールを備えた電池パックの一側に装着され、針状体の貫通時に優先的に短絡して安全性を保障する装置であって、
互いに離隔している1対の導電性シートと、
前記導電性シートが挿着され、該導電性シートの前面を除いた外面を取り囲んでいる電気絶縁性のハウジングと、
前記前面をカバーする密閉部材と、
前記導電性シートを電池モジュールの電池セルのうちいずれか一つの正極及び負極にそれぞれ接続させる接続部材と、
を備えて構成されている。
Claims (18)
- 2つ以上の電池セルを有する、少なくとも1つの電池モジュールを備えた電池パックの一側に装着され、針状体の貫通時に優先的に短絡して安全性を保障する装置であって、
互いに離隔している1対の導電性シートと、
前記導電性シートが挿着され、該導電性シートの前面を除いた外面を取り囲んでいる電気絶縁性のハウジングと、
前記前面をカバーする密閉部材と、
前記導電性シートを電池モジュールの電池セルのうちいずれか一つの正極及び負極にそれぞれ接続させる接続部材と、
を備えていることを特徴とする安全装置。
- 前記導電性シートは金属素材からなることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の安全装置。
- 前記導電性シートは、銅、アルミニウム、コバルト、クロム、鉄、マグネシウム、マンガン、モリブデン及びニッケルからなる群から選ばれる1種、又は2種以上の合金からなることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の安全装置。
- 前記ハウジングの内側の上端及び下端には、一対の導電性シートが離隔した状態で挿入可能なように、それぞれ一対の溝が形成されていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の安全装置。
- 前記溝の間には、導電性シートが離隔した状態で装着されて固定されるように、溝の離隔距離に相応する幅の突起部が形成されていることを特徴とする、請求項4に記載の安全装置。
- 前記密閉部材は、前記導電性シートを外部と遮断できるように、該導電性シートの開放された前面を密閉することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の安全装置。
- 前記接続部材は、前記導電性シートと電池モジュールの正極及び負極とをそれぞれ電気的に接続可能な長さを有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の安全装置。
- 前記ハウジングは接続部材が装着可能なように、前記接続部材と導電性シートとが連結された位置に対応して一対の溝部が形成されていることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の安全装置。
- 前記接続部材は、板状のストリップ又は線形のワイヤーで構成されていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の安全装置。
- 請求項1乃至9のいずれかに記載の安全装置を使用して電気的連結をなしていることを特徴とする、電池パック。
- 前記電池パックは、同一面に正極端子と負極端子が突出している電池モジュールを複数個積層した構造を有していることを特徴とする、請求項10に記載の電池パック。
- 安全装置が対面している電池モジュールには、電極端子連結部位を、電池セルの膨脹時に、スウェリング体積が限界値である所定値以上に到達すると、膨張応力により破裂断電するように設けると共に、脆弱部を、前記スウェリング体積が前記所定値以上に到達すると、前記電極端子連結部位に膨脹応力が集中して物理的変形により破裂するように誘導するように設けた、ことを特徴とする、請求項11に記載の電池パック。
- 前記脆弱部は、安全装置が対面している電池モジュールのセルカバーに切取り部として形成されていることを特徴とする、請求項12に記載の電池モジュール。
- 前記切取り部の大きさは、電池セルスウェリングが電池セルの厚さを基準にして2乃至5倍の体積増加を招く時、電極端子連結部位が破裂するように設定されていることを特徴とする、請求項13に記載の電池モジュール。
- 前記電池モジュールの電極端子は同一線上に配列されており、前記電極端子の電気的接続部位に電極端子連結装置がそれぞれ装着されており、前記電池モジュールの最外側から離隔距離を維持しつつ安全装置が装着されていることを特徴とする、請求項11に記載の電池パック。
- 前記離隔距離は、1cm〜20cmであることを特徴とする、請求項15に記載の電池パック。
- 請求項10に記載の電池パックを電源として備えていることを特徴とする、車両。
- 前記車両は、電気自動車、ハイブリッド電気自動車、又はプラグ−インハイブリッド電気自動車であることを特徴とする、請求項17に記載の車両。
