−Lucidene(登録商標)645は、Rohm&Haasから販売されているアクリルウレタンポリマーである。
−LEG−1は、Liponicsから販売されている共溶剤である。
−Zonyl(登録商標)FSOは、DupontInc.から販売されている界面活性剤である。
−Cab−O−Jet(登録商標)300は、Cabot Corporationから販売されている自己分散性顔料である。
−Joncryl(登録商標)586は、BASF Corpから販売されているスチレンアクリルバインダである。
−Proxel(登録商標)GXLは、Arch Chemicals Inc.から販売されている殺生物剤である。
−ChemguardS−550−L(登録商標)は、Chemguardから販売されているフルオロ界面活性剤である。
−BP700は、Cabot Corp.から販売されているブラック顔料である。
−Surfynol(登録商標)DF−210及びSurfynol(登録商標)DF−220は、Air productから販売されている消泡剤である。
−Byk−018(登録商標)は、Byk Co.から販売されている消泡剤である。
−Rheolate(登録商標)212は、Rheox International Inc.から販売されている増粘剤である。
−Optiflo(登録商標)L400及びOptiflo(登録商標)M2600VFは、Southern Clayproducts Inc.から販売されている増粘剤である。
下の表1に従って、ブラックインクジェットインク組成物を調整する。全てのパーセントは、インク組成物の全重量に対する重量パーセント(wt%)により表現される。
前処理組成物A〜Gを、表2に従って調整する。全てのパーセントは、前処理組成物の全重量に対する重量パーセント(wt%)で表現する。
前処理組成物A〜G(表2に示す)を、その印刷性能、具体的には、その耐性抵抗について評価する。前処理組成物A〜Gは、例1に示したブラックインク(表1に示すもの)との組合せで試験する。結果を表4に示す。前処理組成物A〜Gは、工業的なコーティング用具によって、前方向ロールコーティングを利用して媒体上にロール塗布する。同一の連続する画像を、例1に示す配合を有するブラックインクで、HPT−300ウェブプレスを使用して印刷する。ロールオン前処理のコート重量は、2グラム/平方メートルである。ブラックインクの10グラム/平方メートルを、各前処理配合物の上に印刷する。印刷プロセスのウェブ速度は100fpmであり、印刷遅延時間は1秒である。使用される媒体は、多孔質媒体、外層の漂白によって得られる白い表面仕上げを有する「White Kraft」(White−Top Kraftliner、WTKL)である。
Claims (13)
- 耐性のある画像を印刷する方法での使用のための前処理組成物であって、
a.液体ビヒクル、
b.定着剤としての多価金属塩であって、前処理組成物の全重量の1〜20重量%の量で存在する多価金属塩、
c.ラテックス樹脂であって、前処理組成物の全重量の1〜70重量%の量で存在するラテックス樹脂、及び
d.増粘剤であって、前処理組成物の全重量の0.01〜2重量%の量で存在する増粘剤を含み、
ここで組成物が1000〜4000cpsの範囲の粘性を有し、
ここで組成物が30〜40dynes/cmの範囲の表面張力を有する、
前処理組成物。 - 消泡剤であって、前処理組成物の全重量の0.01〜2重量%の量で存在する消泡剤をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の前処理組成物。
- 前記増粘剤が、メタクリル酸、アルコールのメタクリルエステル若しくはアクリルエステル、ビニルエステル又は表面活性の不飽和エステルである、請求項1もしくは2に記載の前処理組成物。
- 前記増粘剤が、前処理組成物の全重量の0.05〜1重量%で存在する、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の前処理組成物。
- 前記ラテックス樹脂が、−22℃〜+20℃のガラス転移温度(Tg)を有する、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の前処理組成物。
- 前記ラテックス樹脂が20未満の酸価を有する、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の前処理組成物。
- 前記ラテックス樹脂が、前処理組成物の全重量の10〜60重量%で表される量で存在する、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の前処理組成物。
- 前記定着剤が、塩化カルシウム、硝酸カルシウム、硝酸マグネシウム、マグネシウムアセテート又は亜鉛アセテートからなる群から選択される多価金属塩である、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の前処理組成物。
- 前記定着剤が、塩化カルシウム又は硝酸カルシウムである、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の前処理組成物。
- 多孔質記録媒体上に耐性のある画像を印刷する方法であって、
a.請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の前処理組成物を前記記録媒体に塗布する、
b.前記多孔質記録媒体上にインク組成物を塗布し、当該インク組成物が、水性液体ビヒクル及び着色剤を含み、前記インクが前記前処理組成物に上刷りされる、方法。 - 前記前処理組成物が、前記多孔質記録媒体上にコーティング装置を使用して塗布され、前記インク組成物が、前記多孔質記録媒体上にインクジェットノズルを介して噴射される、請求項10に記載の印刷方法。
- 前記前処理組成物の前記多孔質記録媒体上への塗布の終了時点と、前記インク組成物の塗布の開始時点との時間間隔が、1秒〜30秒である、請求項10もしくは11に記載の印刷方法。
- 前記印刷方法の印刷速度が50〜2000fpmである、請求項10〜12のいずれか一項に記載の印刷方法。
