Abstract
Description
図1は、この発明の実施の形態1に係る画像読取装置の主走査方向に直交する断面図である。図2は、実施の形態1に係る画像読取装置の斜視図である。本実施の形態の画像読取装置は、光学画像だけではなく磁気パターンをも読み取るが、ここでは画像読取装置という。ただし、光学読み取りが主で、磁気読み取りが従というわけではない。
図9は、この発明の実施の形態2に係る光学読取部と磁気読取部の読み取り領域を示す図である。図9において、磁気読取部3の磁気読み取り領域202は、光学読み取り領域201の主走査方向の一部となっている。紙幣等の被読取媒体1の磁気情報部が一部に限られるなど、被読取媒体1の主走査方法全体を読み取る必要がない場合には、図9の構成とすることにより、磁気読取部3の磁気読み取り領域202を磁性体が通過すると想定される領域に限定することができる。磁気読み取り領域202を限定することにより、磁気読取部3が小型化され、部品点数の削減にも繋がる。なお、光学読取部2の光学読み取り領域201と磁気読取部3の磁気読み取り領域202は、副走査方向に重複しているので、実施の形態1と同様の作用効果が得られる。
図10は、この発明の実施の形態3に係る画像読取装置の主走査方向に直交する断面図である。実施の形態3は、磁気読取部3に光学読取部(第2の光学読取部)20を備える。光学読取部20は、搬送面Pの磁気回路の側に配置される。光学読取部20は、導光体(第2の導光体)24、結像光学系(第2の結像光学系)25および受光部(第2の受光部)27から構成される。導光体24、結像光学系25および受光部27は、実施の形態1の導光体4、結像光学系5および受光部7とそれぞれ同等である。受光部27は、信号処理基板16に載置される。結像光学系25は、搬送面Pの磁気回路側の光学読み取り領域101を、受光部27に結像する。信号処理基板16は、受光部27から出力される電気信号を処理して、光学読み取り領域101の光学画像を得る。
Claims (8)
- シート状の被読取媒体がそのシート面の方向に沿って搬送される搬送面の一方の側に設けられ、該搬送面に垂直な方向に磁界を発生する磁気回路と、
前記磁気回路と前記搬送面の間に設けられ、前記被読取媒体が前記搬送面を搬送される際に、磁気読み取り領域で前記磁界の搬送方向の成分の強度変化を検出する磁気抵抗効果素子と、
前記搬送面を挟んで前記磁気回路と対向する側に設けられ、前記搬送面の前記磁気読み取り領域に光を照射する光源と、
前記搬送面を挟んで前記磁気回路と対向する側に設けられた、結像光学系および受光部と、
を備え、
前記結像光学系は、前記搬送面の前記磁気読み取り領域における搬送方向の少なくとも一部を含む光学読み取り領域を前記受光部に結像する、画像読取装置。 - 前記磁気回路、前記磁気抵抗効果素子、前記結像光学系および前記受光部は、前記搬送面に平行でかつ前記搬送方向に垂直な主走査方向にそれぞれ延在し、前記磁気読み取り領域と前記光学読み取り領域は、前記主走査方向に重複する、請求項1に記載の画像読取装置。
- 前記磁気読み取り領域の主走査方向の長さは、前記光学読み取り領域の主走査方向の長さより短い、請求項2に記載の画像読取装置。
- 前記磁気抵抗効果素子は、前記磁気回路の前記搬送面側に載置される請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載の画像読取装置。
- 前記磁気回路は、前記搬送面に直交する方向に交互に異なる磁極を有し、前記搬送面側の前記搬送面に対向する端面から前記搬送面に垂直な磁界を発生する、請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載の画像読取装置。
- 前記磁気回路は、その前記搬送面側の前記搬送面に対向する端部にヨークを有する、請求項1から5のいずれか1項に記載の画像読取装置。
- 前記磁気回路は、前記搬送面から遠い側の端面に接する底部と、該底部から前記搬送方向の両側で前記搬送面に向かって延びる延在部を有し、前記搬送面に平行でかつ前記搬送方向に垂直な主走査方向に垂直な断面がU字状のヨークを備える、請求項1から6のいずれか1項に記載の画像読取装置。
- 前記搬送面の前記磁気回路の側に設けられ、前記搬送面の前記磁気回路側の第2の光学読み取り領域に、光を照射する第2の光源と、
前記搬送面の前記磁気回路の側に設けられた、第2の結像光学系および第2の受光部と、
を備え、
前記第2の結像光学系は、前記第2の光学読み取り領域を前記第2の受光部に結像する、請求項1から7のいずれか1項に記載の画像読取装置。
