Description
cStの範囲内、そしてASTM D2270による粘度指数が少なくとも120を有するエステルの使用を提供する。そのエステルは、最大5mg KOH / g の酸価を有することがよく、上記に定められ記述される化学構造が好ましい。
R4がアルキル基であれば、6から20の炭素原子を含むことが望ましい。望ましくはnは2を示し、R5は、6から10、好ましくは7から9の炭素原子を含むアルキル基を示すことが望ましい。好ましい酸化防止剤は、Irganox (TM) L135であり、これは、R4がCH2CH2COOR5、R5がC8のアルキル基の混合物である。その他の好適な酸化防止剤には、ヒンダードビスフェノールが含まれ、その多くが当該技術において公知でかつ一般的に使用されている。

舶用途に用いられる。
本試験は、機械的燃料インジェクションを持つE7−350の6シリンダー搭載のMackジーゼルエンジンで実施され、試験対象である潤滑剤のすす形成の目標レベルを与えるために時間調整を行った。そのエンジンは、1800rpmで稼働し、燃料フロー速度は250時間で、63.3kg/hrであった。本試験は、浮遊状態において、燃焼生成物、典型的にはすす、を保持するためのオイルの能力を評価するもので、高レベルのすすで汚染されたとき、粘度増加の減少とフィルターの差込みによって示されるものである。API CG−4 及び ACEA E3−96 の規格によって許容可能な粘度増加の最大値は、すすの量が3.8%のとき、11.5mm2/sec乃至cStである。かかる処理下での許容可能な圧力差の増加分は138kPaである。
本試験は、1900rpmで250kWの定格性能を持つ6シリンダーのジーゼルエンジンにおいて、オイル溜め温度125℃で、フルロードで50時間と循環状態で50時間を交互に繰り返して400時間実施される。続いて、このエンジンを検査し、エンジンスラッジ、ピストンの清浄度、エンジンとターボ室の付着物、目視によるエンジンの摩耗、内腔(bore)の艶、シリンダーの摩耗及びリングの粘着度、及びオイルの消費の観点から測定される。スラッジ、清浄度、付着物及びエンジンの摩耗については長所の等級評価法で評価し、シリンダー摩耗は実測される。

本発明に係る組成物と比較例オイルは、すす処理能力を確認すべく、Mack
T−8の試験がなされた。その結果、粘度増加が低く及びフィルター圧力変化が低く、良好な処理特性を示した。表はその結果を示す。

Claims (17)
- アミン系摩擦調整剤と、粒子状燃焼物質を浮遊状態に保持させるエステルとから構成され、そのエステルはトリメチロールプロパンとC 8 からC 10 のアルカノイック酸(alkanoic acids)のみを含む酸混合物とから調製され、そのエステルは分子量が400から5000の範囲内にあり、組成物全量において当該エステルを5から50重量%含有し、
そのエステルが実質的に未反応のアルコールと酸の部分を含まず、
そのエステルの酸価が最大5 mg KOH/gである、
クランク室の潤滑剤である潤滑組成物。 - そのエステルの分子量が450から2000の範囲内にある、請求項1記載の組成物。
- そのエステルの分子量が500から750の範囲内にある、請求項1記載の組成物。
- そのエステルが、ASTM D97の流動点が最大−15℃、100℃の粘度が3から12mm2/secの範囲内、およびASTM D2270の粘度指数が少なくとも120である、請求項1から3のいずれかの1において記載された組成物。
- その摩擦調整剤が第三アミンである、請求項1から4のいずれかの1において記載された組成物。
- 請求項1から4のいずれかの1において示されたエステルと、
アルケニル アレン/ジエン共重合体粘度調整剤、及びヒンダードフェノール系酸化防止剤を含む潤滑組成物であり、
その組成物の全量においてエステルを5から50重量%含有する組成物から構成されるクランク室の潤滑剤である潤滑組成物。 - その粘度調整剤が、スチレンとイソプレンの水素添加されたブロック共重合体、又は水素添加されたスターポリマー(star polymer)である、請求項7において記載された組成物。
- その粘度調整剤が、70,000から100,000の範囲の重量平均分子量を持つ水素添加されたスチレン/イソプレン共重合体である、請求項7または請求項8において記載された組成物。
- その組成物はまた、請求項1、5および6のいずれかの1において示された摩擦調整剤を構成要素とする、請求項7から10のいずれかの1において記載された組成物。
- その潤滑組成物が圧縮点火エンジンのクランク室の潤滑剤である、先のいずれかの請求項において記載された組成物。
- その組成物が、トリメチロールプロパンとC8からC10のアルカノイック酸のみの混合物とのエステル、N−(2−ヒドロキシエチル)−N−(2−牛脂オキシエチル)−2−アミノエタノール、スチレン/イソプレン共重合体、及びC8の飽和脂肪族アルコールの混合物又はC7からC9の飽和脂肪族アルコールの混合物とエステル化された3,5−ジ(t−ブチル)−4−ヒドロキシ−ヒドロ桂皮酸を含有する、先のいずれかの請求項において記載された組成物。
- その組成物が、APIのグループ IIIの基油原料(APIGroup III base stock)を含有する、先のいずれかの請求項において記載された組成物。
- その潤滑組成物は、請求項1から4のいずれか1に記載されたエステル、及び金属含有の洗浄剤を、当該組成物全量において10重量%から40重量%含み、当該組成物は少なくとも1.5重量%の灰分を有する、請求項14において記載された組成物。
- その組成物が、水素で異性化された基油原料(hydroisomerized base stock)を含有する、先のいずれかの請求項において記載された組成物。
- その組成物はまた、先のいずれかの請求項に記載のもの以外に、1以上の洗浄剤、分散剤、酸化防止剤、摩耗防止剤、腐食防止剤、摩擦調整剤、防錆剤、流動点降下剤(pour point depressants)、粘度調整剤及び消泡剤を含む、先のいずれかの請求項において記載された組成物。
