Description
まず、原料粉末として平均粒子径が0.5μmの三酸化タングステン粉末を用意した。この原料粉末をキャリアガス(Ar)と共にRFプラズマに噴霧し、さらに反応ガスとしてアルゴンを40L/min、酸素を40L/minの流量で流した。このようにして、原料粉末を昇華させながら酸化反応させる昇華工程を経て、酸化タングステン粉末を作製した。酸化タングステン粉末は大気中にて900℃×1.5hの条件で熱処理した。
反応ガスとして酸素を80L/minの流量で流し、反応容器内の圧力を25kPaと減圧側に調整する以外は、実施例1と同様の昇華工程を経て酸化タングステン粉末を作製した。さらに、得られた酸化タングステン粉末を用いて、実施例1と同様にして水系分散液を作製した。酸化タングステン粉末および水系分散液について、実施例1と同様の測定、評価を行った。粉末特性および分散液特性を表1に示す。さらに、水系分散液の安定性を実施例1と同様にして測定、評価した。評価結果を表2に示す。
酸化タングステン粉末の熱処理を大気中にて500℃×2hの条件で実施する以外は、実施例1と同様にして酸化タングステン粉末を作製した。次に、得られた酸化タングステン粉末を用いて、実施例1と同様にして水系分散液を作製した。酸化タングステン粉末と水系分散液の特性を表1に示す。さらに、水系分散液の安定性を実施例1と同様にして測定、評価した。評価結果を表2に示す。
実施例4においては、実施例2の酸化タングステン粉末の分散処理をD90径が小さくなるような条件で実施して水系分散液を作製した。実施例5〜7においては、実施例3の酸化タングステン粉末を用いて、その濃度が0.5〜20質量%の範囲となるように調整して水系分散液を作製した。実施例8においては、大気中にて850℃×1.5hの条件で熱処理を実施する以外は実施例1と同様に作製した酸化タングステン粉末を用いて水系分散液を作製した。実施例9〜10においては、pHの調整値を変更する以外は実施例6と同様にして水系分散液を作製した。
pHの調整範囲を強酸性側に変更する以外は、実施例6と同様の条件で水系分散液を作製した。水系分散液のpHは0.5となり、分散直後も僅かな沈降が見られた。2ヶ月保管後はさらに凝集が進んで沈降量が増加していた。これはゼータ電位が0に近づき、凝集がしやすくなったためと考えられる。
酸化タングステン粉末の濃度を50質量%とすると共に、pHの調整範囲を中性付近に変更する以外は、実施例6と同様の条件で分散液を作製した。水系分散液のpHは7.1となり、酸化タングステンが溶解した。
試薬等として市販されている酸化タングステン粉末(レアメタリック社製)を用いて、濃度10質量%、pH5.2の水系分散液を作製した。酸化タングステン粉末の粒径が大きすぎるため、水中への分散が不十分となり、沈降が多いことを確認された。
実施例6で得られた水系分散液に、酸化タングステン粉末に対して1質量%のコロイダルシリカを混合して水系塗料を作製した。この塗料の作製直後と2ヶ月保管後の分散性を評価した。その結果を表3に示す。実施例15の水系塗料は水系分散液と同様に、粒子の沈降がない均一な分散液であり、長期間保管しても安定であることが確認された。
市販の酸化チタンを含む塗料についても、購入時と2ヶ月保管後の分散性を評価した。その結果を表3に示す。市販の塗料は製造から既に時間も経過しており、僅かに粒子の沈降が認められた。さらに、2ヶ月保管後には凝集が進み、沈降粒子が増加していた。
実施例15の水系塗料をガラスの表面に塗布して乾燥させることによって、表面に酸化タングステン被覆層を有するガラスを作製した。このガラスの表面について、目視で粗粒子や凝集粒子の有無を確認したところ、粗粒子や凝集粒子の存在は認められず、均一な膜が得られていることが確認された。さらに、任意の部分について顕微鏡で観察したところ、各部分において均一な膜が形成されていることが確認された。
実施例6の水系分散液を用いて、ガラス表面に光触媒膜を形成した。この光触媒膜の可視光の照射下における光触媒性能を評価した。光触媒性能はアセトアルデヒドガスの分解率を測定することにより評価した。具体的には、JIS−R−1701−1(2004)の窒素酸化物の除去性能(分解能力)評価と同様の流通式の装置を用いて、以下に示す条件でガス分解率を測定した。さらに、水系分散液はその色をL*a*b*表色系で表したとき、a*が−14、b*が15、L*が80の色を有していた。このような水系分散液は基材に塗布したときに光触媒性能を得た上で、基材の色を損ねることがでない。
実施例6の水系分散液をアクリル樹脂系の樹脂液に混合し、この混合液(塗料)に目付150g/m2のポリエステルからなる平織物に含浸させ、酸化タングステン光触媒を付着したポリエステル繊維を作製した。光触媒を付着した繊維と付着していない繊維から5×10cmの試料を切り取り、それぞれ実施例17と同様の方法で可視光の照射下における光触媒性能を評価した。その結果、光触媒を付着させたポリエステル繊維は、付着させていない繊維よりもアセトアルデヒドガスの分解率が高いことが確認された。さらに、同様に作製したサンプルを10個準備し、性能のばらつきを評価したところ、この実施例の分散液は優れた分散性を有するため、繊維への光触媒の付着量が安定していることが確認された。また、ポリエステル繊維は均一な風合いを保っていることが確認された。
実施例6で作製したpH4の水系分散液をシリコン基板上に塗布し、150℃×10分の条件で乾燥させて膜を作製した。FT−IR(フーリエ変換赤外吸収分光法/装置名:BRUKER社製IFS66v)の透過法で表面水酸基の存在を確認したところ、3700cm−1付近の水酸基に由来するピークを確認した。さらに、分散液をガラス基板(5×10cm)に塗布し、150℃×10分の条件で乾燥させ、酸化タングステンの付着量が0.1g/50cm2の膜を作製した。この膜の光触媒性能を実施例17と同様の方法で評価した。ただし、ブラックライトによる前処理は1時間とし、また可視光の照射強度は6000lxとした。ガス分解率は80.1%であった。
実施例6で得られた水系分散液のpHをTMAHで調整して、pH6の分散液を作製した。この分散液をシリコン基板上に塗布し、150℃×10分の条件で乾燥させて膜を作製した。実施例19と同様にFT−IRで表面水酸基の存在を確認したところ、3700cm−1付近の水酸基に由来するピークが大幅に減少していることが確認された。さらに、pH6に調整した分散液を用いて、実施例19と同様にアセトアルデヒドガスの分解率を測定したところ、ガス分解率は54%であった。pH6でのゼータ電位は−32.3mVであった。それらの結果を表4に示す。pH6に調整することで酸化タングステン粒子表面の水酸基が減少し、ガス分解率の低下が起きると考えられる。
実施例6で得られた水分散液のpHを硫酸で調整し、pH2の分散液を作製した。分散液をシリコン基板上に塗布し、150℃×10分の条件で乾燥させて膜を作製した。実施例19と同様にFT−IRで表面水酸基の存在を確認したところ、3700cm−1付近の水酸基に由来するピークを確認した。さらに、pH2に調整した分散液を用いて実施例19と同様にアセトアルデヒドガスの分解率を測定したところ、ガス分解率は61.1%であった。pH2でのゼータ電位は−7.9mVであった。それらの結果を表4に示す。pH2に調整することによって、水系分散液中でのゼータ電位が減少した。このため、粒子は凝集する傾向にある。粒子の凝集で比表面積が減少するため、ガス分解率の低下が起きるものと考えられる。
実施例15で作製した塗料を自動車の室内空間のガラスに塗布して光触媒膜を形成したところ、タバコの臭いが低減し、またガラスが汚れにくくなった。ちなみに、この塗料を塗布したガラスの親水性を評価したところ、接触角は1°以下であり、超親水性が発現した。さらに、黄色ブドウ球菌、大腸菌、カビを用いて抗菌性の評価を行ったところ、いずれも優れた抗菌性を示すことが確認された。
Claims (9)
- 酸化タングステン微粒子および酸化タングステン複合材微粒子から選ばれる少なくとも1種の微粒子と、水を含む分散媒とを含有する水系分散液であって、
前記微粒子の平均一次粒子径(D50)が1nm以上400nm以下の範囲であり、前記水系分散液における前記微粒子の濃度が0.1質量%以上40質量%以下の範囲であり、かつ前記水系分散液のpHが1.5以上6.5以下の範囲であり、
前記酸化タングステン複合材は、遷移金属元素およびAlから選ばれる少なくとも1種の金属元素、または前記金属元素を含む化合物を、前記金属元素の量として0.001質量%以上50質量%以下の範囲で含み、残部が酸化タングステンからなることを特徴とする水系分散液。 - 請求項1記載の水系分散液において、
前記微粒子の濃度が1.0質量%以上20質量%以下の範囲であり、かつpHが2.5以上5.5以下の範囲であることを特徴とする水系分散液。 - 請求項1または請求項2記載の水系分散液において、
前記微粒子のBET比表面積が4.1m2/g以上820m2/g以下の範囲であることを特徴とする水系分散液。 - 請求項1ないし請求項3のいずれか1項記載の水系分散液において、
前記水系分散液中の前記微粒子の粒度分布のD90径が0.01μm以上10μm以下の範囲であることを特徴とする水系分散液。 - 請求項1ないし請求項4のいずれか1項記載の水系分散液において、
前記金属元素はTi、Zr、Mn、Fe、Pd、Pt、Cu、Ag、AlおよびCeから選ばれる少なくとも1種であることを特徴とする水系分散液。 - 請求項1ないし請求項5のいずれか1項記載の水系分散液において、
前記酸化タングステン複合材は前記金属元素を0.001質量%以上10質量%以下の範囲で含むことを特徴とする水系分散液。 - 請求項1ないし請求項5のいずれか1項記載の水系分散液において、
前記酸化タングステン複合材は前記金属元素を0.01質量%以上2質量%以下の範囲で含むことを特徴とする水系分散液。 - 請求項1ないし請求項7のいずれか1項記載の水系分散液において、
前記分散媒はアルコールを20質量%以下の範囲で含むことを特徴とする水系分散液。 - 請求項1ないし請求項8のいずれか1項記載の水系分散液と、無機バインダおよび有機バインダから選ばれる少なくとも1種のバインダ成分とを含有することを特徴とする塗料。
