Description
1.電解質
2.電解質を用いた電気化学デバイス(二次電池)
本発明の一実施の形態に係る電解質は、例えばアルミニウム二次電池などの電気化学デバイスに用いられるものであり、電解質塩およびアルキルスルホンが溶媒中に分散(溶解)されたものである。ただし、電解質は、上記以外の他の材料を含んでいてもよい。
電解質塩は、アルミニウム塩のいずれか1種類あるいは2種類以上を含んでいる。ただし、電解質塩は、アルミニウム塩と共に、それ以外の他の塩を含んでいてもよい。
アルキルスルホンは、R1−S(=O)2 −R2で表される鎖状の化合物である。R1およびR2は、いずれもアルキル基を表しており、それらは同じ種類でもよいし、異なる種類でもよい。このアルキルスルホンは、1種類だけでもよいし、2種類以上でもよい。
溶媒は、比誘電率が20以下である非水溶媒(以下、単に「低極性溶媒」という。)のいずれか1種類あるいは2種類以上を含んでいる。アルミニウム塩の溶媒和に影響を及ぼしにくいため、そのアルミニウム塩の溶媒和が阻害されることを抑制しつつ、アルミニウム塩およびアルキルスルホンを分散させることができるからである。また、電解質の粘度が低くなるため、アルミニウム塩およびアルキルスルホンを希釈しやすいからである。ただし、溶媒は、低極性溶媒と共に、それ以外の他の非水溶媒を含んでいてもよい。
次に、上記した電解質の使用例について説明する。ここで、電気化学デバイスの一例として二次電池を挙げると、電解質は以下のようにして二次電池に用いられる。
表1に示したように、アルミニウム塩とアルキルスルホンと溶媒とを所定の重量比で混合して、液状の電解質である電解液を調製した。この場合には、アルミニウム塩として、塩化アルミニウム(AlCl3 )を用いた。アルキルスルホンとして、エチル−n−プロピルスルホン(ENPS)、エチル−i−プロピルスルホン(EIPS)、エチル−n−ブチルスルホン(ENBS)、エチル−i−ブチルスルホン(EIBS)、エチル−s−ブチルスルホン(ESBS)あるいはジ−n−プロピルスルホン(DNPS)を用いた。溶媒として、ベンゼン(BEZ)、o−キシレン(OXY)、m−キシレン(MXY)、p−キシレン(PXY)、1−メチル−ナフタレン(MN)、γーブチロラクトン(GBL)あるいは炭酸プロピレン(PC)を用いた。
表2に示したように、DNPSおよびTOLに代えてそれぞれトリメチルフェニルアンモニウムクロライド(TMPAC)および1,2−ジクロロベンゼン(DCB)を用いた。この場合には、溶媒中におけるAlCl3 およびTMPACの含有量をそれぞれ6.7mol/dm3 (=l)および3.3mol/dm3 とした。
Claims (5)
- アルミニウム塩と、アルキルスルホン(R1−S(=O)2 −R2:R1およびR2はアルキル基を表す。)と、比誘電率が20以下である芳香族炭化水素とを含む、
アルミニウム二次電池用電解質。 - 前記芳香族炭化水素は、ベンゼン、トルエン、エチルベンゼン、o−キシレン、m−キシレン、p−キシレンあるいは1−メチルナフタレンである、
請求項1記載のアルミニウム二次電池用電解質。 - 前記アルキルスルホンにおけるR1およびR2のそれぞれの炭素数は4以下である、
請求項1記載のアルミニウム二次電池用電解質。 - 前記アルキルスルホンは、エチル−n−プロピルスルホン、エチル−i−プロピルスルホン、エチル−n−ブチルスルホン、エチル−i−ブチルスルホン、エチル−s−ブチルスルホンあるいはジ−n−プロピルスルホンである、
請求項1記載のアルミニウム二次電池用電解質。 - 正極および負極と共に電解質を備え、
前記電解質は、アルミニウム塩と、アルキルスルホンと、比誘電率が20以下である芳香族炭化水素とを含む、
