Description
セラミック形成バッチ混合物に使用できるアルミニウム含有繊維状材料の例としては、アルミナ、アルミノケイ酸塩、チタン酸アルミニウム、およびマグネシオアルミノケイ酸塩が挙げられる。以下の例においては、中央繊維長が3mmであり、直径が3〜25マイクロメートルである、96〜97%のAl2O3および3〜4%のSiO2の組成を有する繊維を、繊維状原材料として使用した。繊維のこれらの組成および寸法は、例示であって、制限ではない。他の繊維の寸法または組成を使用して差し支えない。
表2に示されたバッチ組成A16は、繊維平均長が3.2mm、平均直径が3マイクロメートルである、97%のAl2O3および3%のSiO2の組成の繊維状原材料を使用した。繊維は、30分間に亘る三軸回転乾燥混合によりバッチ中に含ませた。14質量%の水および1%の界面活性剤(Pluronic F127、BASF)を、アルミナミル粉砕媒質と共に2時間に亘りボールミル粉砕を使用してバッチ中に混合した。過剰の液体を他に静かに移し、ペレット(湿った)を5MPaの圧力で打ち抜いた。これらのペレットをマイクロ波乾燥し、15MPaの圧力で再度加圧した。ペレットを、1390℃と1440℃の間の最終温度で反応焼結した。X線回折パターンによれば、最終組成は、チタン酸アルミニウム、長石および残留量のアルミナとチタニアを含んだ。X線回折パターンにおけるピーク強度比は、加圧ペレットにおいて、加圧方向に対して垂直な面におけるチタン酸アルミニウムの結晶c軸の優先的な配向を示した。SEM画像は、反応生成物であるチタン酸アルミニウムおよび長石は、多結晶質網様体への圧縮方向に対して垂直に配向し、例えば、図4Aおよび4Bに見られるように、指向性気孔率を備えた異方性微細構造を形成することを示す。異方性微細構造は、チタン酸アルミニウムおよび長石の小さな粒子両方からなる多結晶質網様体からなった。負の熱膨張係数に関連するチタン酸アルミニウム粒子の結晶c軸は、加圧面に優先的に配向された。
異方性微細構造を備えたハニカム多孔質セラミックをラムおよび二軸スクリュー押出しにより製造した。粉末状バッチ成分、細孔形成剤および結合剤を予混した。乾燥成分を混練用パン内で混ぜ合わせ、混練しながら、繊維状アルミナおよびバッチ水を、混練混合物に加えて混合するか、または予め混練して、繊維の結合網状構造を短い繊維の粉末状ミックスに破壊し、次いで、これを他の原材料と共に混練機に加えた。適切なペーストテキスチャーに到達するまで、混練中に蒸留水を加えた。
Claims (3)
- 異方性因子Af−pore−longにより特徴付けられる異方性微細構造を備えた多結晶質セラミックからなる多孔質チタン酸アルミニウム系セラミック体であって、1.2<Af−pore−long<5であり、無機繊維状材料を含む原材料から得られることを特徴とする多孔質チタン酸アルミニウム系セラミック体。
- 異方性因子Af−matter−longにより特徴付けられる異方性微細構造を備えた多結晶質セラミックからなる多孔質チタン酸アルミニウム系セラミック体であって、1.2<Af−matter−long<5であり、無機繊維状材料を含む原材料から得られることを特徴とする多孔質チタン酸アルミニウム系セラミック体。
- 前記微細構造が微小亀裂を含むことを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の多孔質チタン酸アルミニウム系セラミック体。
