Claims (9)
- 微細亀裂が存在する多孔質コージエライトセラミックハニカム体において、
40%から50%の全気孔率(%P)、
2マイクロメートルから10マイクロメートルの中央細孔径(d50)、
600セル毎平方インチから900セル毎平方インチ(93セル毎平方センチメートルから140セル毎平方センチメートル)のセル密度、
少なくとも1.52MPaの破壊係数(MOR)、および、
25℃から800℃に亘る3.0×10-7/℃未満の、軸方向における熱膨張係数(CTE)
を有し、
さらに、75マイクロメートルから125マイクロメートルの壁厚を有する多孔質セルチャネル壁により隔てられた複数の平行なセルチャネルを備えることを特徴とする、セラミックハニカム体。 - 前記中央細孔径(d50)が3マイクロメートルから8マイクロメートルであることを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック体。
- 前記破壊係数が2.07MPaより大きいことを特徴とする請求項1または2記載のセラミック体。
- 2.76×103MPa超の弾性率(Emod)を有することを特徴とする請求項1から3いずれか1項記載のセラミック体。
- 多孔質コージエライトセラミックハニカム体を製造する方法において、
可塑化コージエライト前駆体バッチ組成物であって、
酸化マグネシウム源、シリカ源、およびアルミナ源を含む無機バッチ混合物であり、該バッチ混合物の50から65質量%が粒状含水材料からなり、該バッチ混合物の35から50質量%が1種類以上の粒状無機酸化物からなるものである無機バッチ混合物と、
有機結合剤と、
液体ビヒクルと、
を有するバッチ組成物からハニカム未焼成体を形成する工程、および
前記ハニカム未焼成体を、微小亀裂が存在する多孔質コージエライトセラミックハニカム体であって、40%から50%の全気孔率(%P)、2マイクロメートルから10マイクロメートルの中央細孔径(d50)、600セル毎平方インチから900セル毎平方インチ(93セル毎平方センチメートルから140セル毎平方センチメートル)のセル密度、および少なくとも1.52MPaの破壊係数(MOR)を有し、75マイクロメートルから125マイクロメートルの壁厚を有する多孔質セルチャネル壁により隔てられた複数の平行なセルチャネルを備え、さらに、25℃から800℃に亘る3.0×10-7/℃未満の、軸方向における熱膨張係数(CTE)を有する多孔質コージエライトセラミックハニカム体を形成するために、4時間から40時間に亘って1380℃から1440℃の焼成温度で焼成する工程、
を有してなる方法。 - 前記粒状含水材料がタルクおよび粘土を含むことを特徴とする請求項5記載の方法。
- 前記1種類以上の粒状無機酸化物が、20マイクロメートル未満の最大粒径(D100)を有することを特徴とする請求項5または6記載の方法。
- 前記1種類以上の粒状無機酸化物および前記粒状含水材料の各々が、20マイクロメートル未満の最大粒径(D100)を有することを特徴とする請求項5または6記載の方法。
- 前記コージエライト前駆体バッチ組成物が細孔形成剤をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項5から8いずれか1項記載の方法。
