Claims (20)
- 多孔質コージエライトセラミック体において、
少なくとも25%の全気孔率(%P)、
2マイクロメートルから10マイクロメートルの中央細孔径(d50)、および
少なくとも1.52MPaの破壊係数(MOR)、
を有するセラミック体。 - 前記全気孔率%Pが25%から50%であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック体。
- 前記全気孔率%Pが25%から40%であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック体。
- 前記全気孔率%Pが40%から50%であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック体。
- 前記中央細孔径(d50)が3マイクロメートルから8マイクロメートルであることを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック体。
- 前記破壊係数が2.07MPaより大きいことを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック体。
- 25℃から800℃に亘る3.0×10-7/℃未満の、軸方向における熱膨張係数(CTE)を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック体。
- 2.76×103MPa超の弾性率(Emod)を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック体。
- 前記全気孔率(%P)が30%から50%であり、
前記中央細孔径(d50)が3マイクロメートルから8マイクロメートルであり、
前記破壊係数(MOR)が2.07MPaより大きいことを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック体。 - 多孔質セラミックハニカム体を製造する方法において、
可塑化コージエライト前駆体バッチ組成物であって、
酸化マグネシウム源、シリカ源、およびアルミナ源を含む無機バッチ混合物であり、該バッチ混合物の50から65質量%が粒状含水材料からなり、該バッチ混合物の35から50質量%が1種類以上の粒状無機酸化物からなるものである無機バッチ混合物と、
有機結合剤と、
液体ビヒクルと、
を有するバッチ組成物からハニカム未焼成体を形成する工程、および
前記ハニカム未焼成体を、少なくとも25%の全気孔率(%P)、2マイクロメートルから10マイクロメートルの中央細孔径(d50)、および少なくとも1.52MPaの破壊係数(MOR)を有する多孔質コージエライトセラミックハニカム体を形成するのに効果的な条件下で焼成する工程、
を有してなる方法。 - 前記粒状含水材料がタルクおよび粘土を含むことを特徴とする請求項10記載の方法。
- 前記1種類以上の粒状無機酸化物が、20マイクロメートル未満の最大粒径(D100)を有することを特徴とする請求項10記載の方法。
- 前記1種類以上の粒状無機酸化物および前記粒状含水材料の各々が、20マイクロメートル未満の最大粒径(D100)を有することを特徴とする請求項10記載の方法。
- 前記コージエライト前駆体バッチ組成物が細孔形成剤をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項10記載の方法。
- 前記形成されたハニカムセラミック体が、約50マイクロメートルより大きい壁厚を有する多孔質セルチャンネル壁により隔てられた複数の平行なセルチャンネルを備えることを特徴とする請求項10記載の方法。
- 前記形成されたハニカムセラミック体が、約400マイクロメートルより大きい壁厚を有する多孔質セルチャンネル壁により隔てられた複数の平行なセルチャンネルを備えることを特徴とする請求項10記載の方法。
- 前記形成されたハニカムセラミック体が、約50マイクロメートルから300マイクロメートルの壁厚を有する多孔質セルチャンネル壁により隔てられた複数の平行なセルチャンネルを備えることを特徴とする請求項10記載の方法。
- 可塑化コージエライト形成前駆体バッチ組成物において、
含水タルク、含水粘土、シリカ、およびアルミナを含む無機成分混合物であり、該成分混合物の50から65質量%が含水タルクと含水粘土からなり、該成分混合物の35から50質量%がシリカおよびアルミナからなるものである無機成分混合物と、
有機結合剤と、
液体ビヒクルと、
を有すバッチ組成物であって、該バッチ組成物のペーストが、120から200kPaの降伏応力値および2から5MPaのヤング率値を示すことを特徴とする組成物。 - 前記シリカおよびアルミナの各成分が、20マイクロメートル未満の最大粒径(D100)を有することを特徴とする請求項18記載の組成物。
- 前記含水タルクおよび粘土の各々が、20マイクロメートル未満の最大粒径(D100)を有することを特徴とする請求項19記載の組成物。
