強度低下率(%)=(初期強度−操作後強度)/初期強度×100 (1)

まず、表1及び2に示す割合で、平均粒径0.8μm又は平均粒径5μmの酸化チタン(TiO2)粒子と、酸化銅(CuO)、酸化マンガン(Mn3O4)、炭酸カルシウム(CaCO3)及び炭酸ストロンチウム(SrCO3)の内の少なくとも一種の金属化合物(焼結助剤)と、分散剤と、水とをポットミルで混合し、バッチNo.1〜17のスラリーを作製した。また、表2に示す割合で、平均粒径0.8μmの酸化チタン(TiO2)粒子と、分散剤と、水とをポットミルで混合し、前記焼結助剤を含まないバッチNo.18のスラリーを作製した。
アルミナ質多孔体から、およそ25mm×10mm×5mmの測定用試料を切り出し、アルキメデス法(JIS R 1634準拠)により測定した。
アルミナ質多孔体から、8mm×10mm×5mmの測定用試料を切り出し、水銀圧入法(JIS R 1655準拠)により測定した。
JIS R 1601に準拠して測定した。
テフロン製の内壁の圧力容器に、酸薬液(pH2の硫酸水溶液)とアルミナ質多孔体を、アルミナ質多孔体全体が酸薬液中に浸かるように入れ、密閉して100℃で3時間保持してから、アルミナ質多孔体を取り出して、酸薬液を洗浄除去し、十分に乾燥させた。その後、同じくテフロン製の内壁の圧力容器に、アルカリ薬液(pH12の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液)と先程のアルミナ質多孔体を、アルミナ質多孔体全体がアルカリ薬液中に浸かるように入れ、密閉して100℃で3時間保持してから、アルミナ質多孔体を取り出して、アルカリ薬液を洗浄除去し、十分に乾燥させた。以上の操作を3回繰り返した後、前記した曲げ強度の測定方法と同様の方法で、3回操作後の曲げ強度(操作後強度)を求め、その値と操作前の曲げ強度(初期強度)の値とから、下式(1)により算出した。

アルミナ質多孔体から、2mm×2mm×20mmの測定用試料を切り出し、JIS R 1618に準拠して測定した。
アルミナ質多孔体の微構造を示すSEM写真を画像解析して算出した。具体的には、図1のようなSEM写真を用い、この画像から、アルミナ骨材粒子のみを抽出し、個々のアルミナ骨材粒子が区別できる画像を得た。この画像において、アルミナ骨材粒子それぞれの面積を算出し、各アルミナ骨材粒子が円であると仮定したときの直径を面積から換算し、それぞれのアルミナ骨材粒子の「粒子直径」とした。そして、この「粒子直径」をn個のアルミナ骨材粒子について算出し、それらを合計したものをnで除した値を、「Al2O3骨材粒子の粒子直径の平均値」とした。なお、画像解析を行ったアルミナ骨材粒子の数(n)は50〜200個程度である。

まず、表7に示す割合で、平均粒径0.8μmの酸化チタン(TiO2)粒子と、酸化銅(CuO)と、分散剤と、水とをポットミルで混合し、バッチNo.19のスラリーを作製した。
Claims (11)
- 気孔率が15〜45%、平均気孔径が2〜15μmであるアルミナ質多孔体であって、5〜30質量%の酸化チタンと、銅とを含有し、前記銅の含有量が、前記銅の酸化物の合計量として0.001質量%以上、1.5質量%以下であり、フィルターの基材として使用されるアルミナ質多孔体。
- 曲げ強度が10〜150MPaである請求項1に記載のアルミナ質多孔体。
- 温度を100℃に調整したpH2の硫酸水溶液である酸薬液中に3時間浸漬してから当該酸薬液を洗浄除去し、乾燥させた後、温度を100℃に調整したpH12の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液であるアルカリ薬液中に3時間浸漬してから当該アルカリ薬液を洗浄除去し、乾燥させるという操作を3回繰り返した後の曲げ強度(操作後強度)と、前記操作を行う前の曲げ強度(初期強度)とから下式(1)により算出される強度低下率が20%以下である請求項1又は2に記載のアルミナ質多孔体。
強度低下率(%)=(初期強度−操作後強度)/初期強度×100 (1) - 画像解析から算出した粒子直径の平均値が2〜80μmであるアルミナ骨材粒子間を、チタニア粒子を主成分とした結合相が結合した微構造を有し、前記結合相に、酸化銅を含有する請求項1〜3の何れか一項に記載のアルミナ質多孔体。
- 平均線熱膨張係数が7.5〜8.5×10−6/Kである請求項1〜4の何れか一項に記載のアルミナ質多孔体。
- モノリス形状のアルミナ質多孔体である請求項1〜5の何れか一項に記載のアルミナ質多孔体。
- 固液分離用フィルターの基材として使用される請求項1〜6の何れか一項に記載のアル
ミナ質多孔体。 - 水処理用の固液分離用フィルターの基材として使用される請求項1〜6の何れか一項に記載のアルミナ質多孔体。
- 平均粒径1〜120μmのアルミナ粒子と、平均粒径0.5〜10μmのチタニア粒子と、酸化銅とを含む原料混合物を混練して得た坏土を、所定形状に成形し、得られた成形体を乾燥、脱脂及び焼成して、気孔率が15〜45%、平均気孔径が2〜15μmで、5〜30質量%の酸化チタンと、銅とを含有し、前記銅の含有量が、前記銅の酸化物の合計量として0.001質量%以上、1.5質量%以下であり、フィルターの基材として使用されるアルミナ質多孔体を得るアルミナ質多孔体の製造方法。
- 前記焼成を1200〜1300℃で行う請求項9に記載のアルミナ質多孔体の製造方法。
- 請求項1〜8の何れか一項に記載のアルミナ質多孔体の表面に、当該アルミナ質多孔体の平均気孔径より小さな平均気孔径を有する多孔質セラミック膜を一層以上積層してなるセラミックフィルター。
