Description
本願で「熱可塑性樹脂」と言うときは、高温に曝されたとき軟化または溶融し、低温または室温にされたとき元の状態に戻る物質を意味する。本願では、熱可塑性樹脂は、加熱したとき、架橋または硬化によって固化する熱硬化性またはエラストマー性物質とは区別される。
DVAのエラストマー成分は、熱硬化性、エラストマー性物質の組み合わせから選択される。最終製品に不透過性が求められる場合、少なくとも1の低空気透過エラストマーを用いることが望ましい。好ましい低空気透過性エラストマーは、ブチルゴム, ハロゲン化ブチルゴム, 星状分岐ブチルゴム, ハロゲン化星状分岐ブチルゴム, ポリ(イソブチレン-co-アルキルスチレン), ハロゲン化ポリ(イソブチレン-co-アルキルスチレン), 及びイソブチレン-イソプレン- アルキルスチレンターポリマー等のイソブチレン含有エラストマーである。
いくつかの実施形態では、DVAにはさらに第2エラストマーが含有される。第2エラストマーはどのようなエラストマーでもよいが、好ましくは、第2エラストマーはイソブチレン含有エラストマー以外のエラストマーである。好ましい第2エラストマーの例として、無水マレイン酸変性コポリマーが挙げられる。好ましくは、第2エラストマーは無水マレイン酸変性エチレン-エチルアクリレート等の、無水マレイン酸及びエステル官能基を含むコポリマーである。
DVAを製造する方法には、エラストマーと熱可塑性樹脂の混練工程が含まれる。好ましくは、混練はスクリュー式押出機等の溶融加工装置を用いて行われる。この方法では、架橋可能なエラストマー、オイル、熱可塑性樹脂、硬化剤、及び触媒を加工可能で、硬化を生じさせるために十分な高温と高剪断速度を生じさせることができる装置であれば、どのような溶融加工装置でも用いることができる。好ましい溶融加工装置の非限定的例示としてバス・コニーダ(buss-co kneader), 遊星押出機(planetary extruder), 2以上のスクリューチップを備える同方向、または逆回転マルチスクリュー押出機, 2以上のスクリューチップを備える同方向回転噛合い押出機, リング押出機(ring extruder)が挙げられる。スクリューチップとは、押出機のスクリューのフライトの先端縁を意味する。1以上の加工装置を直列または連続で用いることができ、好ましくは直列で用いることができる。好ましくは、溶融ブレンディングは溶融されるか、または溶融状態の材料中で生じる。材料は溶融加工装置に導入されるときは溶融状態である。溶融加工装置は、材料を混練する前に材料を溶融させておくために用いてもよいし、用いなくてもよい。
この発明に係るDVAの製造方法を、以下の非限定的実施例を参照しながら説明する。
樹脂マスターバッチは、二軸押出機を用いて調製した後、ペレット化してからDVA加工二軸押出機に供給した。樹脂マスターバッチには、ナイロン6/66, Uniplex 214, Irganox 1098, Tinuvin 622LD,及びヨウ化銅が含有されていた。粉砕したゴムマスターバッチ、第2エラストマー(AR201)、及びペレット化した樹脂マスターバッチをDVA加工二軸押出機に供給した。
Claims (8)
- 動的加硫されたアロイを製造する方法であって、前記アロイは2から90wt%の少なくとも1のイソブチレン含有エラストマーと、少なくとも1の熱可塑性樹脂とから成り、
a)前記熱可塑性樹脂と、少なくとも1の可塑剤とを第1溶融加工装置で混練して樹脂マスターバッチを製造する工程と;
b)前記エラストマー、少なくとも1の硬化剤、及び前記樹脂マスターバッチを第2溶融加工装置の供給口に供給する工程であって、前記エラストマー及び前記硬化剤を予備混練することなく、前記第2溶融加工装置の前記供給口に供給する工程と;
c)第2溶融加工装置の内容物を動的加硫条件下で混練して動的加硫されたアロイを製造する工程とが含まれ、
前記エラストマーが、熱可塑性樹脂の連続相中に、加硫または一部加硫された小粒子の分散相として存在する、動的加硫されたアロイを製造する方法。 - 前記エラストマーがイソブチレンとアルキルスチレンとのコポリマーである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第2溶融加工装置の前記内容物の混練により、押出物表面粗さが80以下の動的加硫されたアロイが産出される、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 前記第2溶融加工装置の前記内容物の混練により、ラボラトリーキャピラリーレオメータ粘度の値が200から350Pa−secの範囲の動的加硫されたアロイが産出される、請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記第1溶融加工装置および/または前記第2溶融加工装置がマルチスクリュー押出機である、請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記熱可塑性樹脂が、ポリアミド、ポリイミド、ポリカーボネート、ポリエステル、ポリスルホネート、ポリラクトン、ポリアセタール、アクリロニトリル-ブタジエン-スチレン樹脂、ポリフェニレンオキシド、ポリフェニレンスルフィド、ポリスチレン、スチレン-アクリロニトリル樹脂、スチレン無水マレイン酸樹脂、 芳香族ポリケトン、及びこれらの組み合わせから成る群から選択される、請求項1から5のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- さらに、第2エラストマーを前記第2溶融加工装置の供給孔に供給する工程を備える、請求項1から6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記第2エラストマーがマレイン酸変性エチレンエチルアクリレートである、請求項7に記載の方法。
