Description
第1の工程で得られた中間生成物を、減圧下700℃以上1000℃以下で加熱する第2の工程とを備えることを特徴とする誘電体材料の製造方法を提供するものである。
〔無定形微粒子粉末〕
チタン、バリウム、乳酸及び蓚酸を含み、BET比表面積が6m2/g以上で、Ba原子とTi原子のモル比(Ba/Ti)が0.98〜1.02で、乳酸に由来する1120〜1140cm-1及び1040〜1060cm-1に赤外線吸収スペクトルピークを有することを特徴とする無定形微粒子粉末。
(1)第1の工程:特定の無定形微粒子粉末を、空気中230℃以上530℃未満で加熱して中間生成物を得る。
(2)第2の工程:第1の工程で得られた中間生成物を、減圧下700℃以上1000℃以下で加熱して誘電体材料を得る。
以下、それぞれの工程について詳述する。
(1)無定形微粒子粉末の製造
無定形微粒子粉末50gを電気炉内に静置し、空気中、昇温速度1℃/minで250℃まで昇温した。次に250℃で3時間保持し、250℃から昇温速度1℃/minで460℃まで昇温後、2時間保持した。このようにして中間生成物を得た(第1工程)。第1工程での詳細な操作条件は以下のとおりである。
〔操作条件〕
・室温〜250℃:昇温速度1℃/min
・250℃:保持時間3時間
・250〜460℃:昇温速度1℃/min
・460℃:保持時間2時間
得られたチタン酸バリウム粒子について、(a)Ba/Tiモル比、(b)結晶子径、(c)(002)面と(200)面との分離、(d)BET比表面積、(e)密度、(f)BET比表面積径、(g)BET比表面積径/結晶子径及び(h)比誘電率を以下の方法で測定した。それらの結果を以下の表1に示す。なお、(c)の(002)面と(200)面との分離は、チタン酸バリウムの表面立方晶の厚さの程度の尺度となるものであり、同一の粒径で比較した場合、分離が明確であるほど表面立方晶が薄いことを意味する。また(g)のBET比表面積径/結晶子径は、チタン酸バリウムの粒子の凝集の程度の尺度となるものであり、その値が大きいほど凝集の程度が大きいことを意味する。
蛍光X線法によって測定した。
(b)結晶子径
X線回折法によって測定した。測定は、チタン酸バリウムの回折ピークのうち(111)面の半値幅を用い、シェラーの式(Dhkl=Κλ/βcosθ)を用いて評価した。式中、Dhklは(hkl)面に垂直な方向の結晶子の大きさ、λはX線の波長、βは回折線幅(半値幅)、θは回折角である。Κは定数である。回折線の幅の拡がりは光学系による拡がりも含まれているので、実際に観測した回折線幅Bから光学系に基づく拡がりbを補正する必要がある(β=B−b)。そのための標準試料としては、測定試料と同じ物質で結晶子が大きく不均一歪のない試料が得られれば理想的である。本実施例では第2工程を1400℃で行って得られたチタン酸バリウムを用いた。
(c)(002)面と(200)面との分離
大型放射光施設Spring−8のビームラインBL02B2を用いて測定した。
(d)BET比表面積
全自動比表面積計(Macsorb model−1201)を用いて測定した。
(e)密度
ピクノメーター法によって測定した。
(f)BET比表面積径
BET比表面積と密度から下記計算式(1)により算出した。
BET比表面積径=6/DS ・・・・計算式(1)
式中、Dは密度(g/cm3)、SはBET比表面積(m2/g)を表す。
(g)BET比表面積径/結晶子径
BET比表面積径と結晶子径から算出した。
(h)比誘電率
上述の方法に従い測定した。
第2工程の加熱温度を表1に示す温度とする以外は実施例1と同様にしてチタン酸バリウム粒子を得た。得られたチタン酸バリウム粒子について実施例1と同様の測定を行った。その結果を表1に示す。また、実施例2で得られたチタン酸バリウムの走査型電子顕微鏡(SEM)像を図4に示し、(002)面と(200)面のXRDパターンを図6に示す。
第2工程の加熱温度を表2に示す温度とする以外は実施例1と同様にしてチタン酸バリウム粒子を得た。得られたチタン酸バリウム粒子について実施例1と同様の測定を行った。その結果を表2に示す。
実施例1で用いた無定形微粒子粉末に代えて、蓚酸バリウムチタニル(平均粒径200μm)を用いた。また、第1工程の加熱温度を500℃とし、第2工程の加熱温度を表2に示す温度とした。これら以外は実施例1と同様にしてチタン酸バリウム粒子を得た。得られたチタン酸バリウム粒子について実施例1と同様の測定を行った。その結果を表2に示す。また、比較例3で得られたチタン酸バリウムの走査型電子顕微鏡像を図5に示し、(002)面と(200)面のXRDパターンを図6に示す。
実施例1ないし4及び比較例2及び5で得られたチタン酸バリウムにおいて、立方晶に対する正方晶の比率(正方晶/立方晶)を、特開2006−117446号公報に記載されている方法に基づいて、大型放射光施設Spring−8のビームラインBL02B2を用いて測定し、リートベルト法において正方晶構造に帰属できるすべてのチタン酸バリウム粒子が、内部の正方晶構造と立方晶構造の2相構造であると仮定して、解析を行うことにより求めた。図7に実施例1ないし4及び比較例2ないし5で得られたチタン酸バリウムについて結晶子径と立方晶に対する正方晶の比率(正方晶/立方晶)との関係を示すグラフを示す。図8に実施例1ないし4及び比較例2ないし5で得られたチタン酸バリウムについて結晶子径と表面立方晶の厚さとの関係を示すグラフを示す。
Claims (4)
- 下記の無定形微粒子粉末を空気中230℃以上530℃未満で加熱して中間生成物を得る第1の工程と、
第1の工程で得られた中間生成物を、減圧下700℃以上1000℃以下で加熱する第2の工程とを備えることを特徴とする誘電体材料の製造方法。
〔無定形微粒子粉末〕
チタン、バリウム、乳酸及び蓚酸を含み、BET比表面積が6m2/g以上で、Ba原子とTi原子のモル比(Ba/Ti)が0.98〜1.02で、乳酸に由来する1120〜1140cm-1及び1040〜1060cm-1に赤外線吸収スペクトルピークを有することを特徴とする無定形微粒子粉末。 - 前記無定形微粒子粉末として塩素含有量が70ppm以下であるものを用いる請求項1記載の誘電体材料の製造方法。
- 前記無定形微粒子粉末として、更に希土類元素、Li、Bi、Zn、Mn、Al、Ca、Sr、Co、Ni、Cr、Fe、Mg、Zr、Hf、V、Nb、Ta、Mo、W、Sn及びSiからなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の副成分元素を含むものを用いる請求項1又は2記載の誘電体材料の製造方法。
- 前記無定形粒子粉末を加熱して中間生成物を得る前に、該無定形微粒子粉末を粉砕処理に付す請求項1ないし3のいずれかに記載の誘電体材料の製造方法。
